I booked a budget double room for 5 nights from August 14 to August 19.2017 through the Booking. com website for 7200 rubles. We arrived from Moscow by the branded train "Arktika" to the city of Kondopoga at 17.45. For 60 rubles. From the station in 10 minutes we took a taxi to the hotel.
Accommodation. The reception is located on the 2nd floor. The elevator only works from the 2nd floor, so we had to carry the suitcases ourselves. Placed quickly, settled in room 317 on the 3rd floor. The staff is friendly and courteous which is very important.
Number. Small in size, 2 beds separated by a bedside table, 2 towels per person, TV (3 channels), wardrobe, mirror, suitcase stand, 4 hangers (hangers), bathroom: shower tray, small sink, toilet. The dispensers are filled with shampoo, shower gel and liquid soap. Good luck with hot water. This room is decorated with warm colors and wooden furniture. Free WiFi.
On the floor there is a refrigerator, a water cooler, an ironing board and an iron.
Room cleaning. Leaves much to be desired. Bed linen and towels for 5 days were never changed. Several times, having arrived from an excursion at 01.00 at night, they asked the reception to remove the garbage from our room! , and in the morning to change an empty bottle in the cooler on the floor).
Organization of excursion.
Tuesday - Solovki Island (4500 rubles)
Wednesday - before lunch Kivach Reserve, Girvas volcano (750 rubles) and after lunch: Marcial waters and Mount Sampo (700 rubles)
Thursday - Ruskeala Marble Park, Valaam Island (4000 rubles)
Friday - Kizhi Island (3000 rubles)
on Saturday at 10.00 we had to vacate the room due to the conditions of the hotel.
Nutrition. In the evening you can order and pay for breakfast (160 rubles), lunch (320 rubles) and dinner (270 rubles) according to the buffet system in the hotel cafe.
I dined 2 times for the entire period, because. all the time were on excursions and came to the hotel only to spend the night. Assortment of 2 types of first courses, side dishes, meat, salads. Choice of drinks, tea, coffee.
Leaving the hotel, on the left side, there are food stores "Pyaterochka" and "White Nights" (where you can buy a real Karelian balm for souvenirs)!
Pros:
good location on the shore of Lake Onega;
budget accommodation option;
operational organization of excursions;
on the ground floor provide a taxi call service.
Minuses:
yellowish tap water, washing white things is not comme il faut;
for several days in a row, garbage is not removed from the room;
an empty bottle in the cooler is not changed until you tell the reception.
the elevator does not work from the first floor;
toilets on the first floor are closed.
