We stopped at the Prichal hotel on the way to Solovki. It is very convenient that through them you can pre-book tickets for the ship (round trip). The senior administrator answers all questions by mail and is a pleasure to deal with. If you plan to stay at the same hotel on the way back (because the sea is unpredictable and you can get off the ship much later than the scheduled time and there is a risk of missing the train, for example), then the administration offers to pay for the rooms in advance. This saves a lot of time. You don't have to stand in line for check-in after the boat. They liked the restaurant. There were no complaints about the dishes we ordered. Delicious and satisfying. The prices are acceptable. You are allowed to bring your own alcohol and even kindly give a corkscrew. . About the rooms. On the way back, we got ordinary standard rooms in a building without repair (there were already reviews that you need to be prepared for Spartan conditions - flat mattresses and low water pressure). BUT it doesn't matter at all! Because in this case there are no problems with plumbing!! ! On the way there, we encountered the fact that in the renovated building, on the second floor, there are rooms in which the sewerage system was initially made incorrectly and it is constantly clogged. Moreover, plumbers in this situation are powerless to help. And everything is solved by simply scooping out the desired filling of the maid in the morning. When asked by the administration what to do in this situation, we were told that this is a constant problem. Moreover, the girl at the reception behaved incorrectly - in this situation, the phrase "and what do you want from us" is not an answer to the question of customers who paid a fairly decent amount for superior rooms (apparently, this is a high level of comfort). Only the intervention of the senior administrator (a very nice woman, she tries to help everyone, it is sincerely a pity that she has to solve such issues) affected the administrator girl and we were given the keys to another free room. If they warned in advance about the possibility of such a situation and reduced the prices for these rooms, it would be fair, since there is no way to fix the problem. This greatly spoiled the good impression and mood (((

My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice: before leaving for Solovki and on arrival for an overnight stay. Very worn rooms for their rather high cost, dim overhead light, which makes it impossible to read, dead mattresses. The food is very modest, although not cheap. The main disadvantage is that this hotel does not know that people sleep at night, so loud music in the restaurant at 12 am is considered the norm. … More ▾ My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice: before leaving for Solovki and on arrival for an overnight stay. The staff is just rude in response. At the same time, breakfast is strictly until 10 o'clock. Overslept - left hungry, the cafe is closed until lunch.

There are many impressions, Karelia is diverse, but you will never forget it.
1. Solovki Traveled across Karelia from the north down and to the west. First, straight to Solovki, because the weather urged us on. We saw a lot in 3 days: of course, the KREMLIN, what respect and awe for it, then I missed it, I wanted and wanted to go inside, wander, stroke the stones, but we rushed all these days like mad. We visited Bolshoy Zayatsky, Muksalma, walked along the canals along the Small Circle, even stopped in the Fools' Bay and picked mushrooms! But we did not get to Anzer - already due to the weather and time. You have to go to Solovki for at least 5 days, and we had three incomplete ones. We met with the family, they come to the islands several times and travel to their favorite places. Imagine how happy they are: they already have their favorite places on Solovki. and we are like newborns: everything is open to us! For housing: the booked room at the Shelter Hotel was immediately changed on the pier upon arrival to the private sector (contacts remained, if in the high season, you must contact the hostess in advance: a cottage, several rooms are rented, you use the kitchen and everything - 3 tr room for three ), and they decided to use the delta for money for transfers around the island: we traveled with my mother, 4 km is a long time for her, we took a car everywhere, on the skeleton the fare for a car is 800 rubles. hour, but I found more democratic. We spent the night on Solovki and back in Rabocheostrovsk at the Prichal hotel - the only place that left a negative about the attitude and the number of rooms, although I wrote off with their manager and she helped me a lot and I am grateful to her.
2. Then we immediately went to the Alekka campsite, which I booked in advance and made an advance payment (65 km from Petrozavodsk deep into the p / island, on the shore of the most beautiful Syamozero. On the way (almost everywhere new, renovated, high-quality) all the churches that I mentioned visited , yes, and in Kemi we found a beautiful church, We met Yu Yu at the camp site. Warm welcome, attention and care, few vacationers, grace around the forest, sea berries, we persuaded ourselves that we were not pickers, we were bursting mushrooms, unusual mushrooms, well, it didn’t work out to collect them with plantations, but anyway, so much fun! dried a little, it was already somehow cool to raft along the Shuya, although it’s a sin to complain about the weather - it pleased us the whole trip. After 3 days we went west, along the road there were waterfalls, oh, you would know how we were looking for the White Pillars waterfall. I had printed out "250" variants of descriptions of how to get to it, but you have to go and find it yourself. We got lost, but found an unusual mountain of Love, climbed it, fo mapped the northeastern shore of Ladoga. We found it - majestic, to be sure! On the way back, we were a little stopped: an oncoming car got stuck on the road. while we were getting out, we reached Ruskeala, but we saw the beauty of marble the next day. spent the night in the Finnish Kirche, which I also "looked after" on the Internet, what grace and comfort there. didn't want to leave. (1000 rub. day/person, this includes tea, coffee, extraordinary pastries - when you want, REAL sauna, Finnish society, fireplace. . . )
3. And also the main thing: these are the people who helped us, who met us, with whom we communicated: they are always happy and ready to help. Look here: Yuyu at the camp site. will never pass without asking how we rest, what we do. we ran out of antifreeze, so he raised all his guys to find us this antifreeze. what can I say: he is a man in his place. Say hello to him, and the cat kingdom is simply charming. and fed HOW!!!
4. all accommodation in Karelia is EXPENSIVE, VERY, the prices in Europe were not even close. but this does not reduce the impression of the edge. I booked all my accommodation in advance, with an advance payment only at the camp site, but then I found out already there that in the village nearby, on the shore of the most beautiful Syamozero, you can rent a private sector, just dock in advance, and the payment is also cheaper than the camp site. but the cost of excursions to Solovki seemed affordable to me.
this is how we got to know Karelia. few, just few, not that we are greedy, we must not be greedy for impressions: there are never many of them. want and want to return to you.
Write, ask, there are many contacts you need left. I wish you a journey through amazing Karelia!

Of the minuses, I can say that the hotel is a 20-minute walk from the monastery, but there is such a cheat: a bicycle rental point, which has a branch in the hotel in the center of the village, that is, you can take a bicycle in the center of the village and return it to the hotel and vice versa. the second inconvenience is peat water, you just need to get used to it, by the way, the skin really becomes softer from it. ))) You really can’t drink it, and it’s inconvenient to wash your socks in it . . )) the staff is polite, courteous, does not ask unnecessary questions, in the room when we settled already had a mosquito fumigator.

What can I say? . . Be prepared for anything. Because we left Moscow when it was hot (+39) it turned out to be a shock for us when we got into a storm, with a northerly wind blowing through from the White Sea and a temperature not exceeding +10 (at night it was -3). Moreover, we were told that we were lucky, because. got to the classic summer of Solovki (literally 2 days ago it was +35 and everyone was swimming). Hmm . . lucky, so lucky))
Hotel. . Cost 1200 per person per day, meals are not included, but there is a refectory in the neighboring hotel. It is difficult to find, when you just arrive on the island it is better to take a taxi (250 rubles). We went straight on foot and were very sorry. The Kremlin is about 2 km away. There is also a "Tour Desk" (very easy to find).
Cold, that's what we felt all the time. Hot water and heating only available from 7pm to (approximately) 3am. But if you don’t sit in the room, then you don’t really feel it) You come, you cuddle up tired to the radiator and you are warm and good. And in the morning you get up, have a quick breakfast and run away, into an even more severe cold than in the room. The main thing is to treat everything with optimism)) It helps a lot there)
The room is simple "like a felt boot")) Two beds with narrow mattresses, two bedside tables with the remaining sausage from the previous tenants and two stools with falling legs) That's all))
Excursions are cheap (the most expensive is 1100 rubles, on average 200-400 rubles), discounts for pensioners, schoolchildren, students, etc. (everyone who is supposed to). Get ready to constantly walk, to the place of the excursion, during the excursion and back. In one tour you will cover many kilometers.
But it's worth it) Great culture, history, goodwill, interesting cases, sometimes a good dose of adrenaline. And nature... is beautiful, original, even local forests have a history. Fresh air. And, of course, the center of religious culture. Even if you do not consider yourself a strong believer, it will still be interesting. At least the stories about the interaction between black monks and prisoners (it was there that the first Gulag was founded) require attention.
I can give a couple of practical tips: take a large suitcase (or even a hiking backpack) with you. you need to take everything with you (from swimsuits to autumn jackets and woolen scarves); carry money with you (do not leave it in the room); take a skirt with you (you can wear it directly on jeans or trousers) and a scarf (they may not be allowed into the territory due to their absence); take a couple of packs of rolton with you (or something like it), sometimes it will itch to eat hot, especially before going to bed - do not be afraid to get fat or ruin your stomach, your strength is melting there (in 3 days we spent 4 kg. , eating very actively); required min of cold medicines; raincoat (always carry with you).
In principle, if you have any questions, write, I will definitely answer. Despite the hotel and the cold, we really liked it, the main thing is to understand why you are going there and where, and most importantly, a sea of humor and positive. Then everything will fall into place and add up)

My review is addressed to those who decide on the possibility of a trip to Solovki.
Since before the trip I read with great gratitude and interest
all the reviews about the holiday on Solovki that we managed to find, I hope that my
feedback is also helpful.
I went on the tour "Big Journey to Solovki", organized by
travel agency "Orpheus" (Moscow).

Organizational moments, depending on the travel agency - deserve great gratitude.
Everything is clear, without overlays: they met at the train in Kemi, settled in a hotel on
one night, in the morning they were organized in an organized manner, fed, put on a boat - the legendary Vasily Kosyakov, who delivered the group to the islands.
In Solovki, we immediately fell into the arms of Elena, the representative of ORPHEUS on Solovki, under whose vigilant eye we were all the time of the tour.
The group is small (15 people), which is very convenient for the perception of excursions. The food is very plentiful, twice a day, in the only more or less normal cafe in the village of Solovetsky. For breakfast, a bus came to the hotel for the group, then - excursions according to the tour program, in the evening - return to the hotel on your own.
Accommodation on Solovki was in the PRICHAL hotel. With regard to this hotel, I can say the following - you can find better. Firstly, the location is two kilometers from the village. On the one hand, this is a plus - a walk along a quiet forest road. But of course, it is more convenient to stay in the center of the village - proximity to cafes, to attractions.
Secondly, the living conditions of the PRICHAL hotel are C grade. The rooms are small, no TV, water pressure is weak and inconsistent. A heater is also not provided, we had to demand it from the administration, which also turned out to be difficult)).
In general, everything is clear - the choice of this hotel on this tour is due to its
duration - this is the longest tour in Solovki, and naturally, hotels in the center of the village would make the tour many times more expensive.
Just be aware that you can live in the BERTH, but you can
live better))) I dwell on this in such detail, since questions
accommodation - one of the most important, on which the impression of rest depends.
You can live in the BERTH. You will not get enchanting comfort, but ardent fans of all earthly amenities, in principle, are unlikely to break into Solovki))). But there is a bathhouse, located right on the shore of the Varangian Lake.
Transshipment hotel in Kem (also BERTH))) of the same plan. But the deluxe room stands out nicely))
The tour itself GREAT JOURNEY TO SOLOVKI, in my opinion, is very harmonious.
In it you will see everything that is interesting in the Solovetsky archipelago (monastery, boat trip, Zayatsky, Muksalma, Anzer, Sekirka, Bot. Sad), but at the same time you will have enough free time.
In our group, people used their free time as they saw fit. Someone independently got acquainted with the island in their free time, someone rested in a hotel, someone went to serve in a monastery. In any case, everything that is interesting on Solovki will be presented to you without fail in accordance with the tour program, and the rest is at your discretion. You can walk without straining to the Negotiating Stone and to the Cape of Labyrinths, see the “dancing” birches, look at the White Sea. The road to the PRICHAL complex after a whole day of excursions is a walk in itself))
Significant adjustments to your stay on Solovki are made by the weather. I pay special attention to this moment, because I realized how important it is. The weather is constantly changing, you need to have a windbreaker with you all the time (although I went in July). Someone bought rubber boots right on the island, but in my opinion this is not necessary if you get to know the area without fanaticism. It is necessary to have comfortable shoes (moccasins, sneakers), and several pairs are better - taking into account constant rains and the possibility of getting wet. But rubber ones are overkill in my opinion))
There is literally only one normal cafe in Solovki in terms of price-quality ratio. It is called CABINET COMPANY and is located in the center of the village. Since it is really practically the only one in its segment, most tourist and pilgrimage groups eat in it, so during peak hours there may not be enough space for tourists traveling on their own.
In my opinion, you should go to Solovki with a group. It is more difficult for single tourists. If the boat breaks down, then the excursion you planned may
easily not take place, and the organizers of the tour groups solve these issues already according to the knurled scheme.
I will express the opinion of our entire group if I say that Yulia Puzanova became our best guide (if she reads this, a huge gratitude to her from the whole group, only she was remembered). A young girl from Arkhangelsk, conducts tours of the monastery complex - with a soul. I am grateful to her for her dedication and sincere interest in her work.
I would also like to thank Elena - the representative of ORPHEUS on Solovki - for the fact that we didn’t think about anything all the time, she thought for us, organized, and planned - thank you!
As a conclusion, you should visit Solovki at least once in your life. There will be many impressions and they will be different. This is a different world, the existence of which is difficult to imagine, sitting in a noisy and polluted Moscow.
As a result of this trip, I began to evaluate the Moscow summer in a different way - it is wonderful)) No more to the north with a foot))).
And someone from the group planned to come again.
Everyone finds his own on Solovki - these are places for the soul to rest (whoever has it).
Good luck to everyone and thank you for your attention to my review.
July 2009. Natalia, Moscow.

Let's start with the fact that at the time of checking into the hotel, the foreigners brought with us by transfer simply refused to settle and left. For 10 days of our stay there, it seems that no one was there except for us. The breakfasts offered to us at a neighboring camp site (I don’t remember the name) consisted of porridge (as nasty as in the pioneer camp), a piece of suspicious sausage and waffles. My (then future) husband, Swiss by nationality, left hungry. We found a way out - we bought food for breakfast in the village store, since I prudently took the boiler, we had a delicious breakfast in this way on the terrace in front of the entrance. Peat water in this Pier is a separate song. I laughed for a very long time when I read that her skin and hair are getting better. After washing, there is a feeling that you become even dirtier, the hair does not comb at all !!! ! Girls will understand me, what mood, if you constantly feel sticky dirty hair. After a week of our stay, the girls-administrators agreed with someone and they let us wash in the "Putin's hotel" - a house nearby, where VV lived during his visit to Solovki in 2002 (? ). This house was empty and there was no light. It was possible to wash after 6 pm, we washed in the dark, but with normal water - once in 10 days !!! ! The mattresses on the beds in this hotel are practically non-existent or as thick as a blanket. We were given an extra, since the hotel was empty, but it did not change the feeling - it was very tough! From the center of the village to the hotel is a 40-minute walk. I do not advise anyone to get sick on Solovki, there is no pharmacy or it does not work. I had an attack of cystitis - in the village hospital they are not familiar with such a disease, as well as with the word chloramphenicol.
