This summer my husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Villa Lana hotel in Zelenogradsk, Kaliningrad region. The stay in this hotel exceeded all our expectations.
This is a very cozy small guest house that meets all modern requirements and with all amenities. The location of the hotel, from our point of view, is very good. It is located on the second line from the sea, and this is actually only 3-4 minutes walk, i. e. on the one hand - the sea is very close, on the other hand - there are many cafes on the shore, live music plays in the evening, they sing "karaoke" (by the way, very professionally), a lot of people walk, but all this noise is almost not heard in the room (if the windows of the room out into the garden, you can't hear anything at all). It is very convenient for relaxation, as they say, for every taste. The beach is quite wide, sandy, there are many convenient slopes to the sea. When we left, just in the place next to which the hotel is located, they finished making a "promenade": this is a wide, tiled road, fenced with railings, and comfortable benches in the middle.
The design of the hotel is very stylish and unusual, there are amber paintings on the walls, and the rooms themselves, of which there are only 7, differ in colors: gold, peach, red, green, blue, purple (lilac) and rustic. We lived in a golden room: wall drapery, furniture, bedspread, sofa cushions, painting, curtains - all in a golden tone - well, VERY beautiful! By the way, we were kindly allowed to see all the other rooms later - believe me, each of them is a small work of art and fine taste! In the room: a large family bed (there were rooms with 2 beds), 2 bedside tables with floor lamps, 2 coffee tables, an armchair, a wardrobe, a multi-channel TV, a fan (large), a minibar-fridge, a hanger, a hairdryer, a toilet with shower, balcony with 2 wooden chairs and a table and very beautiful flowers. In general, the territory of the whole hotel is VERY well-groomed; a lot of greenery, flowers, fruit trees, several gazebos where you can relax, children's swings, sun loungers. In the room and throughout the hotel perfect cleanliness and order in everything! Room cleaning is carried out daily and very high quality. Bed linen is changed on the 5th day, towels are changed at the first request of the client (albeit every day), and I must say everything is done with a smile! In the room, in addition to towels (5 pieces), bath slippers, 2 large beach towels and 2 light beach mats are also provided.

The service at the hotel deserves the highest praise and corresponds to the European model. All hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. We have repeatedly rested in 4.5 star hotels in Europe, and seeing such a high class of service here in Russia, we were very happy. Of course, the competent selection of personnel is the merit of the director Svetlana Ivanovna, who, in addition to this hotel, is also the owner of the Septima travel company in Kaliningrad. We met her, because. she often comes to Zelenogradsk, monitors everything that is happening in the hotel, and is constantly interested in the opinion of customers about the work of her hotel.
In the hotel "Villa Lana" couples from Germany constantly rest; so when we were there, the Germans also rested there, and even then a group of Poles drove by. But I want to emphasize in particular: there is NO difference in terms of service between foreigners and us, Russians, on the part of workers! On the first day of our arrival, as soon as we crossed the threshold of the hotel, the lovely receptionist Julia met us with the words: “Here you are, whom we are so looking forward to, you are welcome to us. ” And this cordiality, warmth, kindness and individual approach to everything continued throughout our stay at the hotel, and we felt this positive attitude from all the employees. I would like to note the professionalism in the work of the hotel manager Irina. This young smiling girl was ready to help at any moment and answer all our questions. We even got the impression that she just lives in a hotel (in fact, she is not), when you just go downstairs (our room was on the 2nd floor), she greets you with an affectionate smile and a warm word. We were touched by such attention.
Separately, it must be said about nutrition. The food here is just GREAT!! ! Our breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast from 8 to 11 o'clock - a fairly varied buffet. But lunch and dinner can be ordered at the hotel from the menu or complex (350 rubles). I am writing a dinner-lunch, because, starting from 12 o'clock and until 22 o'clock, you can choose any time convenient for you (by notifying the administrator in the morning), and everything will be ready by the time you specified. I want to emphasize: we were at the hotel for 12 days, we ate dinner every day, and so NEVER the set lunch-dinner menu was repeated! The food is delicious, the portions are big, the service is impeccable. For the first - either some soup or salad; for hot - either a meat or fish dish and a sweet dessert with tea, coffee or compote (your choice). By the way, on the very first day of our stay, we were asked about our gastronomic preferences. For example, my husband does not like mushrooms - so, if there were sauces with mushrooms, they cooked for him without mushrooms; and vegetarians lived in the hotel, so for them every day (for a whole week) they generally cooked separately. Dishes of European cuisine: national Russian, Ukrainian, German, Polish dishes. Well, VERY VERY tasty!
They served food on the veranda (it is possible in the house, but in summer everyone prefers to eat outdoors). In the courtyard, behind the hotel building, there is a very cozy veranda with wooden chairs and tables, wicker chairs and a rocking chair, where hotel guests like to relax outdoors in peace and quiet, enjoying the beautiful view of the garden and an abundance of flowers everywhere.

The hotel also provides excursion services to everyone (without any markups, because the owner of the travel agency and the hotel is the same person). We booked 2 excursions: to the Curonian Spit and along the Amber Coast (Baltiysk, Yantarny, Svetlogorsk). They were satisfied. The hotel has its own air-conditioned minibus, so they are ready to provide transfers to anywhere in the area for a reasonable fee. You can also rent a car at the hotel and go somewhere yourself, or come to the hotel on your own transport (they have parking), one German couple of quite advanced years came to rest on their motorcycle. My husband rode around the city on a bicycle, which, by the way, we also rented at the hotel. The hotel also had "public" umbrellas in case of rain. There is also Internet (Wi-Fi) in the hotel, it works well, only slightly slowly (but this does not depend on the hotel). We went to Kaliningrad ourselves: buses from Zelenogradsk run almost every 15-20 minutes, the journey takes 40 minutes, the price is ridiculous - 36 rubles (route 141) and 40 rubles (route 140), and there are also electric trains, about once an hour - one and a half - 30 minutes, price - 48 rubles. Very comfortably. There are many attractions in Kaliningrad: the Amber Museum, the Museum of the World Ocean, the Kant Museum and the Cathedral, which hosts organ concerts, etc. And there are a lot of shops with all sorts of sales. So who likes what. It was possible to book an excursion there too, but we decided to see everything slowly ourselves, having previously bought a map in the Zelenogradsk bookstore, and received a consultation at the hotel. We went to Kaliningrad three times, but did not have time to see everything, we left it for the next visit.
The weather was wonderful +22 - +24, for all the time only one day was really cold +16, the rains were short. The sea is warm +20 - +22, in the first and last days it was generally calm, but it was a little stormy, but not much, and this has its plus, we took wonderful hot tubs.
Summing up all of the above, I want to say once again that we had a great rest and got a lot of positive emotions. I sincerely advise everyone to go to rest on the Baltic Sea in Zelenogradsk and stay at the Villa Lana hotel. A great vacation is guaranteed for you!
Tatyana.
