Scandinavian fairy tale
"I decided to share my impressions of the trip at the beginning of this year and
write a review, on the eve of holidays and New Year holidays
be interesting to someone. We gathered with a company of colleagues (6 people) for
end of the world : ) Not the most distant and financially uplifting edge
light by mutual agreement was recognized as Scandinavian. There is a place there
interesting Lulea in the north of Sweden. Luleå is a city in the province of Norrbotten.
with a population of just under 46.000 people. It was founded by Gustav II
Adolf in 1621 west of the current centre; in 1649 the city was
moved to its current location, closer to the sea. Most urban
buildings were built already in the 20th century, the oldest is a wooden
17th century building Rodlundsgarden on Rodstugatan street
(Radstugatan).
The experience is very interesting. Arrived at Stockholm Airport, transferred to
domestic airlines and flew to this village. Arrival airport was
similar to the rustic, such as they show in the old American
films, maybe because they arrived in the evening, and after 17-00 life in such
provinces ends. The hotel was in the center of a city or village, not
I know how to call it. Quality Hotel Lulea is small, bright and clean.
He also had a bar, cozy and hospitable. But since our goal
was not a hotel holiday, but getting new and unusual experiences, a bar
was just a nice addition to the evening : )
The trip was short, so I wanted to get the most
impressions of a very boring place. On the first day we went for a ride
on an icebreaker, I don’t know what kind of connections one of our colleagues had, but he
agreed that they would take us for a ride with a group of tourists on... an icebreaker! Not
I'm sure that I'll ever experience this feeling again, a thick layer of ice,
which falls apart into many chunks and shimmers in the sun, and you
you sit in the lower cabin, drink coat and watch this magnificence. . .
The next day we took the car to cars-scanner. com (booked
in advance, in fact the cars did not disappoint) and went to Swedish Lapland
(from January to March, there are tracks for extreme driving on
ice), our colleague helped again, he negotiated the track, I don’t know
is it possible to just come there in my car and drive, maybe
ride on the cars that they provide... Again, a lot of impressions,
we rented 3 vw golf in luleå with manual so we can
it was ""feel"" the ice track and got a lot of adrenaline. For the third
full day we just walked around the city, though it’s hard to walk
call it a tiny town. Shops work like in Soviet times with
break for lunch and are closed on weekends, because it was sunday buy
souvenirs failed.
Well, on Monday morning we flew back to Stockholm from the local
sleepy town. The plane was full of Swedes in suits,
newspaper in hand and briefcase at foot. Apparently they flew to work in
Stockholm, really curious for the whole week or do they fly every day
home? Here is a story about 4 days in a Scandinavian fairy tale.
