Before traveling to this wonderful city, I read that there are places from which you can very well look at Stockholm from above. Therefore, we set aside a whole day for walking around such places.
We started by visiting Sky View, which is located at the Globen metro station, at Globentorget 2. If you go along the green metro line, then sit in the last car. Very convenient - you got out, went to the bridge, passed two large buildings - and you are already in front of the Globen sports and concert complex. The Globen Arena itself is the largest spherical structure in the world. Globen Arena is the center of the model of the Swedish solar system, located on the territory of Sweden and imitates the Sun. The outer diameter of Globen is 110 meters. The building is so massive that in clear weather it can be clearly seen from the sea; although the sea is quite far from here. The Globen Arena is located in the Johhaneshof district, in the southern part of Stockholm.
Since we arrived an hour before the opening (at 9:30 only the first rise), we walked around the complex itself. This is also a large shopping center, with McDonald's, shops, various cafes and free Wi-Fi. We were early - all the shops were closed.
At 9:30 a. m. they opened the passage, gave tickets and took them to a small cinema, which showed a short film in English about the history of the Globen Arena and the cultural life in it; gave brief instructions on what can be done in the ball, what is not.
The climb itself lasted about 10 minutes. The ball slowly rises, hangs at the very top and then slowly descends. Beautiful views, you can see the sleeping areas of the city. As for me, the procedure itself is more beautiful and exciting than the views)) Well, this is just my opinion.
On the ground floor there is a small souvenir shop and cafe.
The cost of the funicular for adults is 120 SEK, with the Stockholm Card it is free, but once.
