Day four. Kezmarok.

Today we decided to go in a new direction for ourselves, using the already familiar train. Only the color of the trailers was blue and the name was different. It was no longer Tatranská elektrická ž eleznica, but Ž eleznice Slovenskej republiky (Ž SP). Blue carriages took us to the Studeny Potok platform in 10 minutes without stopping. Leaving the car and reviewing the current timetable, we were again convinced that everything was calculated correctly and accurately. Literally in 10-12 minutes, a train from Poprad arrived, which took us to the old Kezmarok in the same short time. Know-it-all Wikipedia reports that Kež marok originated in the 13th century, and in 1950 it was declared an architectural reserve. Our impressions of visiting Kezmark were as follows....

Dirty-gray station building with a green roof (in Art Nouveau style), a bridge over the Poprad River, a bus station at a distance of 100 meters, the already familiar Billa symbols (with the same affordable prices) - and so far nothing unusual.

To the center - the building of the city government - a stone's throw. To our left, the walls of the ancient Kezmarsky castle appeared, and in front of us - a slender row of neat multi-colored houses. Wonderful (unlike yesterday's morning rain) sunny weather added energy and optimism. We reached the Main Square with the city hall of the 15th century, on the tower of which the eternal guard froze.

Having admired the square and made enough photos for a long memory, we headed towards the castle - Kezmarsky castle. Near the castle and in the courtyard it was deserted. The announcement on the gate said that tours of the castle were held every hour, with the exception of - 12.00. Entrance ticket price 3 €, group of 5 people.

And here we have a funny story.

The doors to the supposed box office to buy tickets were locked. We sat down on a nearby bench. We decided to just sit and look around.

After a while, a young man came out of the door at the back of the courtyard, opened the doors of the "cash desk" and went inside. And after a short time he went out, locked the doors to the "cash desk" and retired to the same place where he came from. My friend and I looked at each other and realized that we had missed the chance to get on an excursion to the castle at 11.00, and we didn’t really want to wait until 13.00.

And so we decided to try another chance and rang the gate of the museum administration. They didn’t come out to us, they looked out to us! From a second floor window! And they said that the next tour will take place after lunch. But on the other hand, we have time to inspect the wooden evangelical church. And you need to hurry - it is only open until 12 o'clock.

Well, the church, so the church! And having oriented ourselves on the ground, we all went along the same Main Street in search of the church. The church was found, and not alone! And as many as THREE - on one patch: New Evangelical, Greek Catholic and Wooden Evangelical.

And all three churches were closed…. The reason has remained unclear. Then I read about this church (wooden) in more detail. Indeed, it was worth seeing! It's not meant to be.

By the appointed time, we went to Kezmarsky castle. This time - successfully. The tour was conducted in English. But the guide gave us three sheets, on which a brief description of the examined objects of the castle exposition was printed in Russian. The main thing is to see! The rest can be read later. The exposition of the museum was very pleasant. I am posting a few photos. Most vividly engraved in memory. Therefore, I recommend visiting this pretty little Slovak town!

For the opportunity to take pictures, you need to pay only 1 euro. Video filming is a little more expensive - 2 euros.

We returned to Tatranska Lomnica by suburban bus, which left exactly on schedule. The ticket price, as before, is democratic - 1 euro.

Travel time is 30 minutes. Outside the bus window - winter Slovakia, Presov region.

To be continued. Tomorrow will be Zhdar and Lomnitsky peak.
