Day five. Zdiar, Lomnický Š tí t

This time, as usual, I was not particularly prepared for the trip.

First, there was no time, and secondly, for some reason I suddenly wanted to spend this week lazily, lie in bed, hang in the pool, take a leisurely walk and breathe clean mountain air.

So I just quickly browsed the Internet, just in case to get acquainted with the cities closest to Lomnica in search of local attractions.

Thus, Poprad, Zakopane and Lomnický Š tí t were previously "planned". But Kezmarok and Zhdyar turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Given the short distances and excellent intra-high-tar transport connections, getting to these villages was not particularly difficult, but only fun. A ticket for the local bus to the village of Zhdyar cost a real "penny" - that is, as before, 1 €.

But this bus ran (it ran) on a beautiful mountain road) on the opposite side of the ridge towards the Polish border.

This morning was super sunny weather. Opened in all its glory Lomnický Š tí t, climbing which was my little dream on this trip. But daily observations of the Internet resource http:// www. high theaters. sk / index. php? id_menu = 66802 did not live up to my expectations: the peak lift did not work. Probably due to difficult weather conditions: if the wind was not felt at the foot of Lomnytsya peak at all, then on the Skalnate pleso his "frosty breath" was felt decently. And what to say - at the peak!

And so we decided to dedicate a new day to the Slovak village of Zdiar. Internet forums and friends-travelers suggested that Zhdyar is a large and interesting village for the traveler near the Bilyansky Tatras, which emerged in the XVII century, during the settlement of the Gorals.

Original wooden houses with enclosed courtyards and original color patterns. Folk costumes and crafts can be found in many homes. In the village there is an ethnographic museum - Zhdyarsky House.

And one of the travelers to Turbina. jw. org uk called his note - "Gingerbread houses Zhdyara". How not to look at such beauty? !!

And here we are. At first glance, it seemed that nothing special - the usual picture! On the left - the mountain range, behind which our Lomnitsa, and on the right - wooden buildings of various types. We orientated ourselves in the area and found a museum.

A friendly host (or just a museum employee) in a national costume spoke in plain language and showed a small museum exhibit. The cost of a ticket to the museum is 2 €. Can I take photos.

Nearby is a restaurant of the same name: in a wooden design.

Under a cup of cappuccino and WiFi (even here, high in the mountains, 60 km from the Polish border), I habitually opened a page on the Internet, which periodically monitored the status of the lifts. And here a miracle happened: OPEN ascent to Lomnytsya peak! .....INCREDIBLE! So, today may be another pleasant discovery. And we hurried to the bus stop, there should be a bus just on schedule. And he came on time. We again skirted the High Tatras and admired the beautiful Lomnica Peak, the brilliant blue glow of snow on its slopes.

With a sinking heart, I asked the cashier about the work of the lift to Lomnytsky Peak and received an affirmative answer. And now a dilemma arose before me: my companion, unlike me, was not burning with desire for such an extreme. But I was not stopped: I categorically stated that I would rise and…. . bought TWO tickets for the rise 14.

30 (this was the last ascent, as it turned out).

Deep down, I still hope that she will join me.

The ascent to Skalnate Pleso took place in tense silence. I did not try to persuade, instead she tried to refuse. Arguments like "well, look, no one goes there…. . this is a dangerous prank - look what a steep climb! »Did not roll! I did not react to the persuasion, but just stared in the direction of the cherished peak, trying to see the red booth of the hood.

And finally, the cabin went down, the lucky ones came out of it, and I took a step inside and followed me - my friend. As she later explained, "seeing my persistence and worrying about me, she overcame her fear. " And I was grateful to her for that.

The cable car cabin is designed for 8 people + 1 attendant. Lifting time is about 10-12 minutes. Upstairs there is a restaurant (coffee, buns, alcohol, postcards overlooking the Lomnica peak, WiFi).

And there is an unreal reality: my next dream come true - after Cape Nordkap in Norway.

There are 50 minutes to visit Lomnytsya Peak. We squeaked with delight, drank Hubert champagne (pre-purchased at a local supermarket), took pictures with and without snow, looked down on Lomnica and couldn't believe our eyes! In the end, they ordered a cappuccino and calmly looked at Lomnica from the height of NEptic flight.

In the dynamics, a female voice in Slovak invited us to go to the lift booth.

With regret, looking back at the surrounding mountain peaks, we went to the landing site. Our flight was the last and busiest today: apart from us, there was only a married couple from the Czech Republic, with whom we also symbolically drank a sip of French cognac right in the cockpit.

*** Later it turned out that we were lucky today.

Because the next day it was quite problematic to buy tickets for the Lomnytsky Peak ski lift: they were disassembled in the morning.

The Fifth Day of Rest in the High Tatras was so wonderful for us!

But I did not know that the adventure was not over.

To be continued. Day six - Forest walk.
