I visited Syria this year, in particular in its capital Damascus. I was very impressed with the Shahrayar hotel where we stayed for two nights. This is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Damascus among its crooked streets. An ideal place to plunge into the Syrian exotic. Before that, we spent 1 night in the economical Al Majed. It's just heaven and earth. The hotel is certainly not cheap, but it simply cannot be otherwise. It has very few rooms, because it is not a remake, but a real old private house of the 18th century after reconstruction. Each room has its own name and its own style. We lived in a double room on the 1st floor. It was very convenient, because the door immediately went out to the patio - it is also the reception, which turns into a cafe in the morning and evening. This hotel is very good to relax after tours of the dusty and noisy Damascus. Since it is located deep in the streets, there is no noise from tourists and passing cars, and in the morning no one will call you to prayer. There are few service personnel and there is no Russian-speaking one. But the workers are fluent in English and French. . The service is good, the filling of the rooms is nothing to complain about. Breakfast is European, for dinner you can choose one of several menus of national cuisine. I was very impressed with the orange tree growing right in the courtyard. The fountain in this courtyard is very calming in the evening. Under its splash it is pleasant to drink coffee or tea. So to everyone who visits the capital of Syria for a couple of days for the Middle Eastern spirit, I advise you not to save on a hotel and settle in some kind of bedbug, namely in hotels of this type. There are quite a lot of them in the old city. I really wanted to convey the spirit of this place in my amateur photographs, as far as I managed to judge you.
