I was in Thailand at the beginning of April. Good hotel. Pulls on 4 *. Meals - breakfast (good). It let us down that I had heard enough enthusiastic folk stories about the fabulous country of 1000 smiles - Thailand. There are few smiles, people are on the handbrake. It's dirty in Pattaya. On the street of the city it stinks of garbage (naturally), but after two days you don’t notice it anymore. Pattaya's sewage drains directly into the Gulf of Thailand (and that's what I didn't like the most). Friends lived on the Ambassador, they said that the sea is cleaner there (but farther from the center). I myself am not squeamish, but I didn’t swim on the city beach (and I don’t advise it). I went to swim on the island of Koh Lan. You can get to the island by ferry (30 baht) or by boat (300 baht). Because of the ferry, there is a great attachment to the beach. In fact, you need to sunbathe before 12.00 and after 16.00. But it turns out that you come to the island by 10.00 and sit until 16.00. There are several beaches on Koh Lan. Beautiful Thien beach. Sunbeds (30.50, 100 baht) stand under bushes, white sand, but at low tide the sea recedes so that the buoys lie on the sand (on other beaches it’s about the same), and there is darkness behind the buoys of sea urchins. A lot of people perekolilos. Well, at least the hedgehogs are not as poisonous as those in the Red Sea. It is better to swim in special shoes. Sunbathing in a T-shirt with a long sleeve (in all seriousness). You really need to be careful (especially women) when you rent something. Look at everything. Cut through every scratch. In case of disputes, the locals call the police (I accidentally saw how the prisoners were being transported, a nightmare), and those (the police) begin to defend the rights of the locals, but don’t be shy: you don’t have to be rude, but also stand on your own, otherwise they will be “divorced”. The local food is spicy, although generally normal. For fun, I went to one local canteen (not pretty in appearance) where the Thais ate. It was delicious, cheap, and even some kind of tea was brewed (there is a “problem” with tea and bread). The hostess is cheerful and friendly: neither in Russian nor in English (well, I'm no worse - neither really in English, nor in Thai). But they fed. Communicated through her daughter and signs. Took excursions to the river Kwai, Cambodia, Bangkok. Went to the Alcazar show. The nature on the river Kvai somehow reminded the nature of Bashkiria on the river Ufimka. At the waterfall (level #5) it was good. I actually liked the waterfalls. . The water is cool and the fish swim (while you are standing still, they "process" you). . Very pleasant and good memories left trips to Cambodia and Bangkok + Oceanarium. In Bangkok, we went to dinner at the Byuk Sky skyscraper. There was a good restaurant and looked at the city from above. Oceanarium - just loved it. Especially the glass pipe. Watch as the shark swims above you. . . It's mesmerizing. I took all the excursions on the street from the Thaityr company. ru. From the tour operator Pegasus (as they say - it's just a noodleshow) I do not advise you to take it, since the overpayment is from 1/3 and above the average cost. And so overpay (do not take VIP - wiring). Attention for those who travel alone on excursions: if he does not have enough roommate, then the surcharge for the room will be 500 baht. In general, holidays in Thailand are designed for companies that will hang out in bars, cafes and restaurants. This is probably right, because through the prism of glass - not everything is so sad, but if it's the first time abroad, then everything is just wonderful. Prices for goods are about the same as in Russia. In the markets, things can only be measured once, and that's it. Next, almost with a scandal. Sellers touchy to obscene. On the shelves there are signs in Russian "do not touch with your hands. " Moreover, the Thais themselves peretykayut everything before taking anything. It is best to buy things in supermarkets such as Big C, Tesco Lotus, Festival. At least hang in there. But even there the sellers look askance - but are silent. Attitude towards Russians is average and below. In general, it must be clearly understood that Thailand is for Thais, and locals (and guides) look at tourists like a wallet. Although there are normal people there. In drugstores, shops - the benevolent relation. And one more thing: Russians support each other abroad. Let's go on an excursion, look after each other and write down the guide's phone number. There were cases when someone lagged behind the group (were lost). There was a trick on the part of the tour operator's guide. I flew to Pattaya to the local airfield - Utopau, and they wrote me a flight from Bangkok. Moreover, those people with whom I arrived were recorded on Utopau. From Bangkok, the plane flew during the day, and from Utopau - at night. Just in case, he packed his bag and went to bed. At night, the phone rang and they told me on the phone that a bus to the airport was waiting for me. 5 minutes to get ready and I'm already on the bus. I think that this was not accidental, since I took excursions on the street, and not from a guide. This thought leads me to the fact that with my last name on the flight from Bangkok was recorded the name of a woman who also did not take the tour guide. So or not, but the case "has a place to be. " I deliberately took Pattaya for recreation, since it was easier for me to go to Cambodia from there. I also had to take a tour of the Golden Triangle. Thanks Max for a great experience. What I went - I do not regret. Pataya is a dynamic city, but the state of the sea and the attitude of the local population didn’t appeal to me. Although some people like it. And these people go there all the time. They're probably fine there. Some go to Thai in Phuket. There, the rest is more beach (which I don’t really like), the sea (they say) is clean, the sand is good, you can go to the islands, feed the monkeys, ride elephants, there are excursions to temples. I will say this about my trip: I knew what I was going for, what I wanted, and then I got it - it was interesting. What else: when you go to the islands, then take a drink in the city - everything is more expensive on the islands (since everything is imported).
