We lived in Dusit Resort for 8 days in a standard room with a sea view, on the 5th floor. I have stayed at the Dusit Resort in Manila and Bangok before. But when I saw this Dusit, I was very disappointed with the hotel rooms. Dusit in Pattaya is not on the same level as in other cities.
I would describe it as a 3 star hotel with great location and nice friendly staff.
The grounds are ok, the overall design of the hotel is outdated except for the refurbished Chinese restaurant on the 8th floor. In addition to the design, this restaurant also has great food and atmosphere.
My room definitely needed a makeover, especially the bathroom.
The positives were the view was great, towels and linens were always fresh and new (it can be changed twice a day if you wish), fresh fruit in the room every day, helpful and very friendly staff.

During my stay at the hotel some renovation work started, it was disturbing so there was an unpleasant noise, some lifts were not working. I believe that such work will be completed no earlier than September 2006.
The only really negative thing was the next room, where a man lived and brought "guests" every night. I thought Dusit was not that kind of hotel. . . I felt bad to have such neighbors. . . well, since this is a public forum, I won't go into all the details, just to say that the walls in the hotel are very thin.
