Because the hotel is located on the outskirts of the city. But tuk-tuk ride is ok. 15 minutes to the center. At the hotel, the beach is really only a beach, and no one swims in the sea. But to the sea at the Garden Sea View hotel is approx. 3 minutes, and walk for 7 minutes. But the pool is gorgeous!
Of the excursions, I really liked the trip to the River Kwai - I recommend it to everyone). On it - visiting the floating market, riding elephants, spending the night in a hotel on the water, and of course, rafting on the river. And also liked the island of Koh Samet with white sand.
