We rested at The Zign in November 2008 (in the main building, not a bungalow). The impressions are the most positive. The hotel clearly corresponds to the declared 4 stars, if not better. Obviously, they did not spare money for the designer when they built it. But Ikea-style design (minimalism plus Scandinavian print, at least on our floor). Since the hotel is newly built, everything is still new, shiny and well maintained. The room was very clean and comfortable, especially the quality bedding. Changed almost daily, and towels exactly daily. The Thai version of the curtsey is a specially trained bellboy who calls the elevator, salutes and clicks his heels in a funny way. There is a beach (albeit a small one), but we did not swim there: we went to the islands. We do not recommend swimming in Pattaya at all, although they cleaned and sifted the sand on our beach, but the sea, of course, is dirty. There are not very many Russians in the hotel itself, mostly Asians (Chinese and Koreans). But in the staff of the hotel there is a girl who speaks Russian and is constantly at the reception in the morning. The hotel has secure parking, where you can leave a rented motorcycle.
Located in the north of Pattaya, in the Naklua area. Quiet and peaceful place near the Temple of Truth. There were no problems with moving at all. To the city center (Beach Road) - 15 minutes and 10 baht by local taxi bus ("tuk-tuk"). However, not an option for nightlife lovers, the hotel is still aloof from all this plentiful night activity and Go-Go, even the local "girls" did not wander into those parts. There is a lot of “infrastructure” around the hotel - food shops, ateliers, massage parlors, tour agencies, moped rentals, fruit and local sweets stalls, cafes and restaurants (it was especially fun to see the huge sign of the Severny restaurant in Russian). It was no less fun to hear from a local old woman with a mobile grill (a cart on wheels with a steaming stove): “Plivet! Slander, sausages, curuluza! In general, compared to two years earlier, there are much more inscriptions and shouts in Russian (if the trend continues, it will soon be completely incomprehensible whether this is Pattaya or Sochi).
Breakfasts are varied (the menu is not very significant, but changed every day) and plentiful, and most importantly, not very spicy and tasty. Upon arrival, they gave a coupon for two free dinners at the hotel restaurant: a seafood buffet. We understood that it was some kind of lure: to show what it is, so that later the guests would eat there for their own. On the first day, we thought that this lure would work: after eating free huge shrimp and lobster (both have a weakness for seafood), we decided that we would be frequent guests at this celebration of life. After the second day, we realized that the eyes no longer look at just steamed or grilled marine reptiles. I wanted something tastier, and we found it tastier 30 meters from the hotel.

With the loud name "restaurant" (in fact, just a cafe) "Omar Khayyam". An institution, so to speak, in the style of "fusion", i. e. Thai cuisine, plus something from Indian, plus Russian in the form of dumplings and dumplings. Oddly enough, amazingly delicious. We recommend local shrimp in garlic, shrimp in sweet and sour sauce with pineapple and fried Pad Thai noodles (however, it’s better to be careful with Pad Thai: your beloved’s jeans have shrunk heavily from frequent use of this dish in two weeks and a couple of holes have shrunk in belt length. . . The waiters (whether Indians or packs) speak and understand Russian, and much better than English. Another important point: Thai dishes (the same "tom yam") are made with adaptation to European taste, i. e. the sharpness is not crazy, but accessible to a normal Russian mouth that cannot eat red pepper pods.
Of the minuses of the hotel - small ants, not invited by us, were still noticed in the room (7th floor! ). They did not annoy, but it was impossible to leave food in the open. Once we were eating a mango, and there were a few drops of juice left on the sink. So there's a full "Hail, Jay! " was after that. And further! It's really cold in the lobby and restaurant. It's chilly to wear shorts for breakfast. This, presumably, is Thai chic: Schaub did not get a tooth on a tooth. Then they went outside to warm up.
Another plus: free Wi-Fi in the lobby, pretty fast. If wi-fi in the room is critical, take a room no higher than the fourth floor: it does not catch higher.
