Rested together from 02/18/2007 to 03/01/2007. AMORA Hotel. Tour operator - Tez-Tour.
Well, let's start in order:
1. Flight... This is generally a separate topic... Who does not like to fly or did not fly at all - get ready !! ! We had a double flight Moscow-Bangkok-Phuket. The flight was at night, so 8.5 hours to Bangkok were tolerable, and there was an additional plus - we flew on a Boeing. Then we made a transfer to a GORGEOUS AIRBUS of Thai airlines and another hour to Phuket. I note right away that there were no delays with luggage and passport control in principle. Everything was done in 40 minutes. A small digression - VERY regretted that they did not change ALL the currency at the AIRPORT. If you have a hotel not in Patong, change the currency at the airport, it turned out to be the most favorable exchange rate there than on the entire coast of Bangtao Beach (although there are no exchangers at all, except for the hotel reception).

2. Tez-Tour worked quickly, even though the Thai who met us at the airport spoke both Russian and English poorly, but taking us by the hand, he literally ran with us going through all the registration procedures. I will allow myself a small digression here too - apply for a visa in Moscow - so as not to run around the airport in search of the necessary windows for its registration.
3. Well, now about the rest itself...
AMORA Hotel is located in Bangtao Beach. Within walking distance there is only one restaurant behind the hotel and several eateries along the coast (I recommend Tom Yame). Since I touched on the problem of nutrition, I’ll say that this is really a PROBLEM, although of course it all depends on how much you want to spend on food. Considering that the hotel only offers breakfast, which is included in the price, it is NORMAL to eat (with a good command of English... the menu is in English) costs about $40 to $70.
So the myth that EVERYTHING is very cheap in Thailand, including seafood, was dispelled by us on the second day of our vacation. We went to dinner once for about $ 80, if you list what you ate, you will be surprised. 2 glasses of wine, 2 salads, a serving of tiger prawns (3 pcs. ), Meat (with damn chili), 2 scoops of ice cream.
In general, of course, the problem of nutrition has come to the fore, but we have almost successfully resolved it. We had lunch at a local eatery with pizza and burgers, and sometimes we didn’t have lunch but bought bananas and all kinds of fruits (there are a lot of them there).
Now for the high. . .
The sea is super, although a little unclear from the sand and waves.
The sun is “evil”, and in general it seemed to me that it was closer and more than in the Motherland. They didn’t sunbathe on purpose, but managed to burn out (I even had white blisters), although they were smeared with cream. So be careful. Hide... although this does not always help))) Sand... well, not white of course, but very fine and light, like semolina. Palm trees... pines (local) and in general everything is very green and beautiful. the staff is smiling and friendly.

The hotel itself is small and green, in general nice and neat. For those who do not like noisy and crowded hotels - this is it! We got a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony and a view of the park, we didn’t make any extra payments, we just asked and they didn’t refuse us. In the evenings it was very pleasant to sit on the balcony, look at the palm trees and eat VERY DELICIOUS fruits that we bought at the nearest market. By the way, the market that worked every Tuesday and Thursday was about a kilometer from the hotel. If you’re not too lazy, be sure to go, though I warn you right away, you need to go there no earlier than at 7-8 pm, otherwise you simply won’t get there - it’s very hot, and the market itself starts at 6 pm. Oh, what was not sold there: bananas, mangoes, mangosteens, rambutans, pineapples, a lot of delicious Thai things were fried and steamed, etc. etc.
Separately, I would like to note the taste of pineapples - I have never eaten such ones in my life. Juicy, sweet, they are also specially cleaned and it turns out like a big ice cream on a stick - the taste is extraordinary. I ate them so much there in 10 days that I didn’t look at them in Moscow. As for the rest of the fruits - I will not describe - try - everything is very interesting and unusual.
4. Now about excursions:
Despite the relatively cheap holidays inside Thailand, our tour operators wring the prices for excursions, God forbid. For example: an excursion to Phi Phi Island (where the film "The Beach" with Leonardo De Caprio was filmed) cost $60 per person. Of course, it included a lot of interesting things + food and drinks on the yacht, but still. And we also went to the "Elephant Village" to ride elephants + rafting - this also cost us $ 50 per person. And we also went to a transvestite show and a Thai erotic show, after which we walked along the Red Light District in Pattaya in the evening. If anyone wants thrills - go - you will not regret it (especially for men). I will not describe the details - let there be intrigue !!!
5. Now about Bangkok

I must say right away that it is a VERY SORRY that we had so little time there. There are so many interesting things, but we did not have time to see. Bangkok itself is a big anthill, but with very good organization and order. It seems that the Thais are supposed to behave according to the rules. They ride in formation - they walk the same way. In Bangkok, we visited the Emerald Buddha Palace and the Royal Palace - in general, we liked it, it was very unusual and beautiful, although it was very hot, as such places are visited in trousers or long skirts (shorts, breeches and Capri - do not roll) + closed shoulders (handkerchief won't go on top). We also visited a jewelry factory (men hold on to their wallets if you eat with wives or girlfriends). For example, I’ll say that an 850 gold ring with two small, but not small, diamonds and a medium sapphire costs about $500. A string of sea large pearls of very good quality costs about 80 to 150 dollars. Etc. etc. This jewelry store with an area of about 800 sq. m.
And for two evenings we went to the shops and shopping centers of Bangkok with great pleasure - THIS IS SOMETHING !! ! There you can buy such exotic things as: Bags, wallets, belts, portmanteaus, shoes - from the skin of a crocodile, python, elephant, stingray; exotic Thai vases, beautiful butterflies in frames, and all sorts of wooden elephants and a bunch, a bunch, a bunch of interesting things. So if you are going to Bangkok from another resort place, you leave money for all kinds of souvenirs and gifts. It’s a pity that we didn’t get to the Thai Zoo and didn’t visit the greenhouse with butterflies... And it’s a pity that time on vacation flies so fast... Happy trip to you!
