I hope this review will be objective in relation to the previous ones - in three lines. If so, don't judge us harshly. We are not picky people, but we want to tell and reveal everything that really is. So, .
My wife and I were going to Phuket for the second time. The hotel was chosen on the basis of price-quality, as you always want, and the hotel is excellent and little money to spend on it. There were no reviews for this hotel on the Internet to evaluate it, only those in “three lines”, about nothing. This is what bribed, we decided to try it, and then it will come out, and it will come out. Most of all, of course, I was bribed by the rooms, they are all DELUX there.
The duration of the trip is from 14 to 29 January 2011. The cost of a ticket for two at breakfast is 92.000 rubles. The tour was bought from Intourist, tour operator Megapolyus tour. I am 37 years old, my wife is 32 years old. Hotel room number 2207 in the second building, on the second floor. The exchange rate of the ruble to baht is approximately 1:1.

The location of the hotel itself is excellent, it is located in the very center of Kata, 200 meters from Kata beach, there is nothing to reproach here.
The hotel is small, consists of two buildings, 3-storey, with a recessed entrance from Kata Road, the territory is completely absent, a tiny pool located between the first and second buildings. The hotel buildings are fenced on both sides, followed by other hotels, the distance from each side of the hotel building to the fence is from two to three meters. In this regard, all windows, and accordingly the view of the first and second floors rests against the wall. The third floor looks just above the fences and captures, of course, a more preferable view - the roofs of neighboring buildings and a small view of the mountain. The most preferred view, 12 rooms that look at the pool and 6 more rooms of the first building, which have a "pale view" of the reception and the entrance to the hotel, these rooms are sold by the operator at a higher price.
The rooms themselves for a 3 * hotel in Thailand correspond to the name De Luxe. A single bed, an additional couch for a child, a table, a chair, two armchairs, a TV (there are no Russian channels, for Ty in 3 * this is the norm), two bedside tables with nightlights, a wardrobe, a cabinet for a suitcase, a safe (this is not an unimportant thing ), kettle, hair dryer; bathroom (without a watering can), shower (only the watering can at the top with a turn is not lowered, respectively, it is easier for the male half to crush the “household” than for the female). There are wooden doors (curtains) between the room and the bathroom, which give a piquant moment, at the moment when your spouse (husband) is washing, you can open the curtain to watch it. Or not quite a “strawberry” when the other half sits thoughtfully on the toilet. There are two plastic chairs on the balcony, and since the view from the balcony of the second floor comes out and rests after 3 meters against the wall, respectively, the sun is not on the balcony, and, accordingly, the room does not happen, because of this, even when the lighting is on (on light bulbs are saved) twilight, in the same connection, bathing accessories on the balcony, the next day they do not have time to dry completely.
Breakfasts are monotonous (for 3 * in Tae, this is normal), but they will not let you die of hunger; potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, rice, stewed vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, toast, cereals, tea, coffee, juices, pineapples, watermelons, papayas are present. For breakfast (7-00 - 10-30) it is better to go not to the beginning, and not earlier than 8-00 hours, then pineapples and watermelons will be taken out, and the madam responsible for the scrambled eggs is standing at her workplace.

As a result, all the disadvantages of the hotel are brightened up by the sea, the sun, the beach, the exotic Tai, shopping and good mood. Kata beach is the most beautiful in Phuket overlooking the island of Pu, perhaps if only Kata Noi beach can argue with its beauty and turquoise water. Kata Noi is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
Excursions this time were not taken, in the past they were on excursions - James Bond with canoeing through the mangroves; Phi Phi Islands, Maya Bay; Fantasy elephant show; this time I wanted to go to Khao Sok and the Similan Islands, but we didn’t go, we were too lazy because of the early rise (at 6-00 we pick up from the hotel).
This time we tried Thai cuisine, on the first visit we were afraid that the stomach would not stand it, but it turned out that they were afraid in vain. I definitely advise you to try Tom Yam Kung soup with shrimp, this is something that cannot be described in words, you must try it. The only thing that you always need to say to the waiters in Thai restaurants more than once is “but spacey”, otherwise the “chili” pepper will kill not only all living things in you, but also your attitude to Thai cuisine. They also took lobster, king and tiger prawns, squid and more. I want to note that we did not succeed well and cheaply. We ate at the Mali restaurant (if you leave the hotel, then 100 meters to the left), a normal restaurant with a good assortment, with real prices, taking any salad bar dish (cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, boiled potatoes or corn ) - free of charge, without restrictions. A grilled dish (squid, tuna, shrimp or sea bass) for two + one additional seafood salad + one beer + one tea costs around 800 rubles. Opposite "Mali", an excellent three-story massage parlor, in which my wife and I did massages.
We prefer to do shopping in Phuket in Patong, where there is more choice and you can bargain better. I advise you to visit T. Ts. "JUNGCEYLON", at about five o'clock, at the entrance to the Robinson store, the guys put up stalls with souvenirs "everything is 100 baht", the assortment is certainly not large, but with a great price, the same product in the shops is cheaper than 150-200 baht not pick up, checked. In this regard, if you take souvenirs in the amount of 8 pieces, then the trip from Kata to Patong pays off (Kata - Patong one way 400 baht) and there are still a lot of good memories from the show of musical fountains, which take place every day at 19-00 and at 21-00 in the shopping center

The budget for the trip without the tour itself, respectively, amounted to $ 1900, these are lunches + dinners + gifts + massages + trips to Patong, well, every little thing.
P. S. With my review, I don’t want to scare you that everything is bad at the Kata Poolside Hotel, I just want to warn people not to buy De Luxe rooms for little money. If the view from the room is not important for you, then this is a good option to stay at this hotel. And if you are ready to pay 15.000 - 20.000 rubles more for a “superior” in 2 weeks, then I advise you to stop your attention at the Tropical Garden Resort 3 * hotel. There, the view is excellent and the range of breakfast is better, and the hotel is large, and two pools, and everything else is more interesting. We stayed at this hotel in January 2008. We would go back to it, but we decided that we would spend the difference on rest.
Good luck to everyone, if you have any questions, write, I will answer as soon as possible. And as they say "Savadika".
