Indeed, there are significant disadvantages. For some reason, previous tourists did not pay due attention to these shortcomings of the hotel.
We traveled as a family with a little daughter - a year and a half. The climate of the island is very good for kids when compared with Turkey. The whole rest we had no diarrhea, no rash, no problems at all, until we were bitten by a furious mosquito under the arm. So I got to the first minus: DOGS... There are a lot of them on Knighton, they sleep right on the beach (five or six pieces), and on the whole Knighton and all 20. All dogs are bald, sick. During the day they sleep off, and in the evening they begin to piss and shit on the turrets built by children. And sand is the main transmitter of all sores. We caught streptoderma, so dear parents, think whether you should go to Knighton or not, but I warned you. Beach workers do not drive them at all, and the heaps are not cleaned at all.
The hotel itself is located a 15-minute drive from the airport - this is a significant plus - convenient, but it takes 45 minutes to get to Patong for 1700 baht on average back and forth along a terrible serpentine with frantic drops - an adult bermutite, I generally keep quiet about children. So parents, if you are going to Knighton, stock up on drama or sit in a hotel and get bored, there is NO entertainment in the hotel.

Throughout Naithon Beach, there are only two shops with prices two to three times higher than in Patong, there is no pharmacy at all. There is only one taxi on the whole beach - these are snickering Thais who may refuse to take you if they see that you have agreed with someone to make it cheaper. In general, Knighton is a complete MONOPOLY, there is no competition there, and therefore the attitude is such that there is nowhere to go.
So - I want to make a remark to the hotel: if you are located in such a wilderness, then provide tourists with transport to the center: some kind of buses or minivans and set up a seven illeven store with NORMAL prices. If you want to be visited. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that only Russians go to this hotel, foreigners are not "fools", they go to the Banana Beach Hotel, also on Knighton, only they take their tourists by tuk tuk to the center. The beach is so cleaner and the dogs don't sleep.
The food in the hotel is good, the breakfast is very tasty, the staff is friendly. BUT if you have lunch and dinner there on the menu - two to three times more expensive than in other cafes. But delicious.
About restaurants: we liked the Bamboo restaurant on the beach and Knighton Villa - the last one behind the "yellow walls" dining room. Believe me - for 25 days of rest we tried everything. Creepy restaurant: Vivan. Staff with eternally dissatisfied mines - the feeling that they are doing you some kind of favor and the food is not tasty. Yellow walls - they cook deliciously, but it's a very long wait, it's very stuffy there and the service per hour didn't triple us, and they'll bring something else. In general, we decided on these cafes: Bamboo and Knighton Villa. We were also recommended a shabby cafe behind the bridge, to the right, but we did not go because of our daughter. Only Thais eat there and the prices are cheap.

The hotel has a very nice pool, it is clean and most importantly you can swim in the evening. But the staff in the paid bar is a separate issue. At 18:00 they close the bar and do not take orders. This is with a 24 hour pool. In general, Thais are sooo slow and lazy, they won’t get up again. The room was cleaned badly - they swept really badly. There is no carpet at all in the hotel - this is a feature of all hotels in Phuket due to the humid air. So decide whether you want to fly to this hotel or not, but after weighing all the pros and cons, I do not recommend it.
