Rested with my husband at the end of November 2010 (2 weeks). The hotel in general is not bad, but we will not go again, and we will not advise our friends.
On one side of the hotel (from the sea side), the construction site (behind the fence) does not interfere, but the view from the window is uninteresting, on the opposite side of the mountain in the distance, and near the city and the road, it looks good in the dark, but there is nothing to admire in daylight. Moreover, there are no chairs on the balcony, you have to admire while standing. Yes, and the balcony itself is tiny, the split system blows exactly on the balcony, so when the air conditioner is running, you won’t stand there for a long time under a stream of hot air.
The hotel looks better up close than from afar, located at the end of a narrow lane (big buses don't drive up). The surrounding buildings are not high, and the hotel stands out ugly against the general background, the building itself is somewhat reminiscent of our Soviet buildings. It's pretty nice inside. The flowers in the foyer are artificial and live. In the pool in the morning and evening include small waterfalls. The pool water was clean. There are two elevators (with complex characters), both worked during our stay. The elevators have a very old carpet on the floor, which gives off an unpleasant smell (this was the biggest disappointment in the hotel). The sound insulation is relatively good, but sometimes you could hear the neighbors quarreling behind the wall and the sound of closing doors from the corridor is always perfectly audible.

The hotel takes a deposit of 100 USD, returns it upon departure, but our operator did not warn about the deposit, the surprise is not pleasant. There is no special parking near the hotel, but you can park the bike, it will be more difficult with a car. During our holiday 80% were Russians. The staff does not speak Russian, but even with our not the best English, we agreed on everything. There is 1 TV channel in Russian (RTR planet). Beach towels are not very new and are not always enough, a couple of days by 10 in the morning they were already running out.
The hotel itself is located 10-15 minutes from the beach, but we didn’t swim in Patong, we went to Katana (Kata Noi Beach), it’s more beautiful and cleaner. Patong is also not dirty, but it is very urban. I want to warn you right away that Patong is a rather large city and the surrounding landscape is buildings. If you want beautiful landscapes, then either take it on the outskirts (but far from the sea) or choose hotels on other beaches, I liked Katana the most. In Patong, it is better to go to shops, markets or get out for the evening / night on Arbat (Bangla Road, a large street, traffic is blocked on it at night, there are many restaurants and bars). Interesting for a couple of times, but no more (this is just our opinion). And drinks in these establishments are much more expensive than in shops and even restaurants at hotels.
The rooms are generally not bad (they usually embellish in the photographs, there are no flowers, white linen), cleaning and change of towels every day, change of bed linen every three days (came across with small holes). Plumbing is normal, combined in standard rooms, shower on the wall behind a glass partition, not very convenient. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. Each room has a safe and a minibar-fridge. Hairdryer on request at the reception, I took my own.
The food is good, quite varied, by the end of the holiday it became boring, but they did not remain hungry, not even once. Breakfasts until 10:30, but by 10 a lot is eaten, there are very few people at the hotel for lunch and dinner. We often dined at Linda Seafoods, we can safely recommend - this is a small restaurant with open-air tables on one of the streets of Patong. The main menu is seafood, the portions are large and inexpensive, and as regular customers they also make pleasant discounts on seafood by weight and on alcohol.

The service at the hotel is good, the only problem arose at check-out, we were counted extra water from the minibar, but everything was resolved calmly. The staff is friendly and attentive. Compared to Turkey and Egypt, much better.
What might come in handy. Standard tip 30 baht. Laundry at the hotel is expensive (from 50 baht per item), but there is a laundry near the hotel, the standard price in Patong is 50 baht per kg. And almost the whole of Patong consists of restaurants, shops, laundries, markets, exchange offices and hotels. At the airport they took a local SIM card, but they could not set up the Internet with it, we needed it, so we had to buy another 500 baht.
Excursions. From the operator went on a sightseeing tour (free of charge). The program included: a latex factory, you can buy a mattress and pillows (they are expensive, pillows are about 3.000 baht, mattresses from 15.000 baht, but cool and useful), Wat Chalong temple complex, an observation deck and a jewelry factory. Those who are in Thailand for the first time and do not know anything about the culture of the people can go. The rest of the tours were taken on the street, a point very close to the hotel - they are sold by a funny woman named Kan, who explains the contents of the tour quite well (with gestures and elementary English words : )). We were: "Phi Phi Islands" and "Coral Island - Raya Island" - interesting and beautiful, the sea is very rich (there were no sharks), when visiting the monkey beach (included in Phi Phi), not a single monkey was found, no luck with the weather. Cost about 1200 baht per person. A very interesting elephant show costs 1500 baht per person (if no dinner) + 150 baht transportation, but we didn’t get it. We went to the Phuket insectarium (butterflies and insect museum), entrance fee is 300 baht, a lot of butterflies, but not very interesting. We rode to the Big Buddha, the complex has not been completed yet, but the project is beautiful. We also recommend looking at the island from various vantage points. We have been to Kata View Point and Phromthep Cape. Near the second point there is an absolutely amazing collection of elephant figurines and a small but very cheap market - all things are immediately given for 100-250 baht, you can still bargain and throw it off, in Patong all prices start at 600-800 (this is the lower limit) and it takes a long time bargain, so that it's an amateur.
