Good city hotel in the south of Patong
Have a nice day everyone!
We returned from Phuket a few days ago. We flew to Thailand with a Pegasus using the Roulette system, so the tour was relatively inexpensive. Actually, otherwise we wouldn’t just go... : )

They settled us in Patong, at the Platinum Hotel. This hotel is located (a typical city hotel without territory and any specific Thai-style interiors) in the south of the resort, a 5-minute walk from the famous Simon cabaret. To the sea, as well as to the final stop of the bus running between Patong and the "capital" of the island, Phuket Town, on foot for 12-15 minutes. On the way, you will be "greeted" not only by shops, but also by numerous tour agencies, the prices of which, of course, are noticeably lower than those of our tour operators. We took a couple of excursions from a Thai named Noi, who speaks excellent Russian, and from our compatriot Oleg, who are “on duty” in agencies near the beach. And everything went well. But still, for the most part, we traveled around Phuket ourselves and did not regret it at all... 
A few words about Patong beach. It is better to swim not in its southern part, but in the center of the resort beach or in the north. The water is much cleaner and clearer there. By the way, a pair of sun loungers in the company of an umbrella on Patong Beach will cost you 200 baht. But it is quite possible to simply sit down on the sand near the water, they will not “drive”.
As for the Platinum Hotel itself, it is quite decent, practically new, clean and well-groomed. The room has everything you need (bathroom, shower, TV, hair dryer, safe, individual air conditioning) and everything works fine. The rooms are cleaned every day, and quite decently. And for 15-20 baht of a tip left by the maid, you will also receive cute towel elephants as a bonus.
By the way, it makes no sense to bring beach towels with you. They are freely issued at the reception in Platinum. The guys there are all very friendly and benevolent, but it is unrealistic to speak Russian with them. Near the reception there is a small "meeting area" with guides, as well as two computers with free internet. However, he sometimes "slows down".
It is very good that there are teapots in the hotel rooms. Moreover, next to the hotel there are two supermarkets of the "Family Mart" and "Seven Ilevan" chains, where you can buy inexpensive food, various drinks, yoghurts, buns, etc. So it is not difficult to arrange an afternoon snack with a cup of coffee or even a dinner with beer (our people prefer inexpensive local beer "Chang"), which, in fact, hotel guests actively use and save money. After all, Phuket in general and Patong in particular is not a cheap place. However, more on that later.

Now about the pool. The hotel also has it, but the pool, of course, is small, located, in fact, on the roof, on the 6th floor. There are showers and a dozen sunbeds nearby. The pool area is always open, so you can refresh yourself in the morning before breakfast and swim in the evening. Many tourists (with us at the hotel were entirely Russians) liked to sit by the pool in the evenings, as they say, with a glass of tea, admiring the starry sky and enjoying the Thai warmth in the dead of winter. Local whiskey and rum (they are very inexpensive, by the way), along with pineapples and other fruits, of course, raised our spirits even more on such December Phuket evenings... : )
Perhaps the main disadvantage of the hotel is the breakfast. More precisely, their uniformity. After 3-4 days from the same omelette, sausages, ham and cucumbers, you get a little tired. True, there are pineapples and watermelon every morning. But, alas, there are no buns and cookies at all, which is why drinking tea or coffee is somehow sad. In general, you can refuel a little in the morning at the hotel, and the rest is already, as they say, "in the course of the play" somewhere on the beach or in the city, depending on your preferences and financial capabilities.
By the way, there are quite a few nice small restaurants near Platinum. Like massage parlors. So even without going to the embankment or the famous Bangla Road, there is something to entertain yourself with.
Yes, one more important point: when you check into the hotel, you will be charged a deposit of $100. It is returned upon departure if you did not use paid services.
In general, we had a pleasant impression of staying at the Platinum Hotel (Patong). Good value for money, friendly staff, convenient location.
In principle, we are satisfied with the trip to Phuket itself. But only because they paid an adequate amount for this tour. In general, in our opinion, there is no reason to overpay for Patong, because, in fact, this is the same Pattaya, no better, but much more expensive. If you really want a stylish and in the full sense of the word respectable holiday in Phuket, you should choose Karon. It is much calmer, quieter and cleaner. And the beach is much better. It is no coincidence that many tourists from Patong often visit Karon Beach.
In general, to be honest, Phuket was not particularly surprised by anything: rumors about its chic and “unearthly beauty”, as they say, are greatly exaggerated. However, we have already been to many places and seen a lot, so we have something to compare with... : )
