We visited with colleagues as part of a promotional tour of Thailand, and had lunch there. The hotel impressed me more than others with its atmosphere. If I went to Thailand with my beloved, I would most likely choose this hotel. There is no infrastructure around the hotel, there is a mini-market through 3 hotels.

Located on Kamala Beach, across the road, the sea is calm at high tide. Guests go swimming in the central part of Kamala, 10 minutes on foot.
There are no Russian-speaking staff, no deposit.
There are shops on the beach, 5 minutes walk.
The structure of the hotel - 7 buildings, each with 3 floors.
Towels are available at the reception.
To Patong and to Kamala there is a bp shuttle according to the schedule.
In the restaurant breakfasts and breakfasts + dinners on a set menu. We had lunch at this restaurant, everything was delicious.
On the territory of 3 pools.
There is a kids club with staff, free of charge.
There is no other animation, there is no disco.
Wi-fi throughout the bp.
We examined the Deluxe Sea view rooms: the area of the room is 35 sq. m. , 1 room, wood on the floor, water is replenished every day in the mini-bar, as well as tea, coffee bp. The kitchen is terrible and monotonous. The photo shows that the sea is across the road, but no one swims in the sea in this area, even locals, I had to rent a moped, well, you can also drive a car and cut for about forty minutes along a winding road to a normal beach. Beach: the only thing I liked was the waves, and when you get out all in the sand from these waves, there is nowhere to wash off the sand from you, there are no showers, no changing rooms, there is not even a faucet to wash your feet from the sand. There is a constant smell of rottenness in the city, it was scary to go in to eat for three days until we found the restaurant "KOLOBOK" and we lived happily, the variety is not great, but everything is delicious. At a latex factory, a complete divorce in the city, everything can be bought much cheaper. And do not ride mopeds without helmets, a fine of 500 baht, and even take taxi mopeds to the site, so that you pay another 200 baht (round trip) to the taxi driver. One pleases that in the midst of a long winter we ended up in a rainy summer (out of six days of rest, there was no rain for three days).

Paid under the contract for two Deluxe rooms (were resting for four) in the five-star hotel Aquamarine Resort and Villa (Phuket), the keys (electronic cards) to which we were issued in February 2007, horrified us! They not only did not correspond to the rooms of a five-star hotel, but were an indicator of complete unsanitary conditions in the hotel.

They not only did not correspond to the rooms of a five-star hotel, but were an indicator of complete unsanitary conditions in the hotel. Not to mention the fact that everything in the room looked old and very shabby - the furniture, as well as finishing materials, wore out over time, frayed, partially fell apart - the room struck me with its neglect, uncleanliness and dirt. There was a thick layer of dust on chests of drawers, shelves, beds and other furniture, impressive lizards ran on the ceiling and walls, periodically jumping on the floor and furniture, the mattress was covered with mold, dust mixed with dust was found on the ottoman (reminiscent of the effects of a bark beetle), in the bathroom there was a huge cobweb in the shower, the tiles were covered with disgusting green mold stains, and here too! the lizard ran. There were insects on the ceiling and walls throughout the room. The proof of all of the above was captured in the photographs of the room. There was an unpleasant smell of rotten, stagnant water on the territory. Which is quite combined with a loud chorus of frogs. Real Asian exotic!!!
To say that we were unpleasantly surprised is an understatement!
Having addressed this problem to the hotel staff, we were offered more expensive rooms, after looking at which, we were convinced that the conditions there are absolutely NOT better. We considered staying in this hotel not only unpleasant, but also dangerous to health and life. We moved to another hotel, and the damage was reimbursed after returning to the travel agency.
I must say that we chose the Aquamarine Resort and Villa hotel based on photos and reviews both in the travel agency and on the Internet. Everything looks amazing in the photo. In life - horror!
