Romance of Thailand. Phuket, Kata Beach Casadel Sol 4*
Rested with my wife from November 18 to December 1.2012. Flight to Thailand without delay at the airport, refueling in Ufa 2 hours + to 9 hours in flight. In total, 11-12 hours of being in the cabin, the mood for the upcoming vacation in the country did not worsen smiles. Passed passport control. Migration card in the passport. Baggage received. The whole procedure took about an hour. The first impression of Thailand is hammam (hot, humid, hard to breathe). We drove an hour and a half to the hotel, stopping at other hotels. The hotel was greeted with smiles, given a soft drink, a necklace of orchids was hung around the neck, romantically. Check-in to the room without delay for 15-20 minutes. You don't need to fill out anything. Handed over the key to the room. The room was in the fourth building on the fourth floor. View from the loggia to the interior of the hotel with swimming pools. In the room, in addition to a TV and a refrigerator, a microwave and a toaster. The tour only took breakfast, microwave and toaster were handy. Products were mainly bought at 7-11, sausages, cheese, nuts, bread, beer. Once they took rice with meat, they were able to eat a few spoons, very spicy gravy in the meat. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, varied. Thanks to the Internet, we found inexpensive cafes not far from the hotel on foot for about 15 minutes. We never managed to spend more than 500-600 Thai rubles for two. It was belly fat. All dishes are delicious and the portions are large. Do not rush to order a lot of dishes. We had enough portions of Tom Yam Kung soup, fried rice and some salad for two + shake and beer. In the cafe we ordered shrimp, mussels, fried fish, and squid. All liked it. "Know spicy" (not spicy), of course, is better to say, but apparently for us farangs they are already used to cooking non-spicy dishes. Cafes look very modest, 6-7 tables each. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It is very easy to find, after leaving the hotel, turn towards the hotel Kata beach (with elephants), walk to the crossroads of three roads. On the right, the road will lead to the Kat Noi beach, and to the left you go up the hill, go down the hill and on the left side there will be the first cafe (seaseson restaurant), and if you go further, also on the left past the Family Market, the second (Hua-soi restaurant). By the end of the second week, they missed our food. We went to the nearest cafe of Russian cuisine called "Balalaika". We waited a long time for our order to be accepted, then we barely waited for it to be cooked, and we also had to wait a long time for the calculation. The result is twice as expensive, and they removed nostalgia for the Motherland and the food familiar to us.
Excursions were taken from Roger next to the hotel to the Phi Phi Islands and Khao Sok safari. I liked that the groups were small. Russian guides gave as much interesting information as possible and how to behave during the tour, which allowed everyone to return safely. I recommend not to take such excursions with small children. They get very sick both on the bus and on the speedboat. The duration of a one-way trip to Khao Sok is 2.5-3 hours along a serpentine, with a height difference. On Ppi, an hour by bus to the pier and an hour by speedboat to the island.
The second half of November in Phuket is usually without rain, but during our trip it rained almost every day. We were happy with him, as he allowed us to stay longer on the beach, swim in the sea and not get burned very much.
On November 28, my wife had a birthday, the hotel's guest service congratulated and presented a bouquet of orchids, a cake and a plate of fresh fruit. In our absence in the room, they laid out “happy birthday to you” on a bed of flowers and tied balloons to the railings on the loggia. It was nice to receive such congratulations. On this day, the country celebrated the Loi Krathong holiday, the holiday of the spirit of water and light. In the evening, people carry boats made of bamboo leaves to the sea filled with orchids and smoking bamboo sticks. They are lowered into the sea, and at dusk, hundreds of large balloons made of the thinnest tissue paper, filled with hot air and cherished desires, rise up. Very beautiful and romantic. Couples of men and women, embracing, stand on the seashore, ignoring the tide, which suddenly soaked their shoes.
The way back was a little longer. Samara did not want to receive us because of the heavy fog that covered the city for two days. Twelve hours we were forced to sit at the airport in Ufa. By eight o'clock in the evening, 60-70 people remained from the passengers, packed with Boeing 767-300.
