First experience
To begin with, we were in Thailand for the first time, and after visiting Spain we were shocked by some things. It was shocking that the streets are dirty, garbage is lying right on the side of the road, trash bins and garbage cans simply do not exist. There are no sidewalks either, sometimes you had to walk along the road, no other way. Going out for a walk in the evening, we got acquainted with the local fauna, and in particular, rats and cockroaches (COATCOATS), if the rats are not very impudent, throwing themselves at their feet, then the cockroaches crawl where they please (which is why we did not regret that we did not take children with us).
we rested in Patong, the beach is dirty, in some places very, the water is also, in order to lie on clean sand and swim in clean water, we had to go sooooo far along the beach even in the morning. We went to swim at Karon (the beach next door), drive about 15 minutes from the hotel (The Natural Resort) by Tuk-Tuk taxi, it cost 300 baht one way (1 baht about 1 rub), there is a clean beach and very clean water. In general, there are many beaches around, but getting to them costs a lot of money.
Excursions:
Were on the islands of Phi - Phi, on the Similans, magical places, snow-white sands, turquoise water, snorkeling, in general, I highly recommend.
We ate in local cafes, they cook deliciously, the portions are very large, we took two hot dishes and a salad, we ate from the belly. Once they took it from the street, it was also tasty but a little timidly.
In Seven - Eleven and Family Mart stores, prices are not high, the assortment is varied, a couple of times they were in Big C - this is a hypermarket, you can walk there for half a day, there is everything. It is better to take fruits in Banzaan, this is a market under the roof next to the Jungceylon complex, where they are always fresh and not expensive, a lot of seafood that will be cooked right there if necessary.
Very hot. Smear constantly with cream, especially the first days, it will burn out very easily and quickly.

In general, I liked it, I do not advise you to go with children, they will be bored there and even unsanitary, this is my opinion and we did not regret that we did not take the children. It's worth a trip, for the overall development, but for me this is a place for once.
