Guys, in a nutshell - if you are looking for a budget accommodation option in a quiet and inexpensive area of Patong with a beach holiday not far from the hotel, and are ready to close your eyes for some moments, then I definitely advise Studio Patong By Icheck Inn 3 * !! ! But, keep in mind that there are nuances in numbers. Read about them carefully in the review, delve into and draw conclusions.
So let's go! In 2018, due to the high cost of the proposed tours to Karon Beach and Kata Beach, I decided to look at the possibility of a budget holiday on Patong Beach. There was a prejudice against Patong, based on the reviews of other tourists on the Internet - “Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, Patong???!! ! Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, no!! ! It's noisy! It's dirty! It stinks in there! ". But ...there is nowhere to go - we are looking for a hotel on Patong Beach. When choosing a hotel, there were the following wishes - location in a quiet, calm and not crowded place, proximity to the sea, a balcony and a low price. Breakfast included and swimming pool included.
And it was “Studio Patong By Icheck Inn3*” that perfectly matched these parameters. I'm booking a superior room.

HOTEL. At the opening, the hotel was called “Chill Patong Hotel 3 *”, but after a while it entered the Icheck Inn hotel chain and changed its name to “Studio Patong By Icheck Inn 3 *”. Above the entrance to the hotel, the sign "Chill Patong" has remained to this day, which is duplicated at the entrance to the lobby with the sign "Studio Patong By Icheck Inn 3*". Therefore, everything that is written in the reviews about “Chill Patong Hotel 3 *” applies to “Studio Patong By Icheck Inn 3 *”.
This is a typical city hotel built in 2013, without its territory and pool. Here stop for the night or day "transit" tourists moving from Phuket airport to other resorts in Thailand. Mostly Indians, Africans, Australians. There were also Chinese, but in small numbers and were quiet. Only Russian "package" tourists live here for a long time. Upon check-in at the hotel, a deposit and passports are not taken as collateral.
Wi-Fi is free and with good speed, but the computer with the Internet was removed from the lobby, there are no fans, but there is a free unlimited coffee machine with 3 in 1 coffee and cocoa chocolate in branded cups, and a refrigerator with drinks for money. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. In the morning they smile and say hello: they say “Hello! in Thai - "Sabadi krap! and “Sabadi kaaa! ”, and in English “Good morning, mister! How are you? ”, and in the evening “Good night! ". During the day, a girl, the guy Pong, worked at the reception, another guy was on duty at night, and their eldest was an adult woman, Linda. The guys do not speak Russian, but they speak decent English and try to fulfill all wishes. If you do not speak either Thai or English, then the Google translator on your mobile phone will help you.
The building of the hotel in red and white colors is constructively made in a U-shape. Moreover, one part of it is 5-storey, and the second is 6-storey.
There is an elevator in the building, but it only reaches the 5th floor, the 6th floor can only be reached by stairs.
NUMBERS. Rooms are approximately 20 - 24 sq. meters. Balconies (there are rooms without balconies) measuring 1.5 X 0.6 meters.

The best rooms suitable for longer stays are located on the sixth floor - 609.610, 611 and 612. The windows face the sea and other buildings. The Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa 4 * hotel is visible on the left, the Shariton hotel under construction is directly overlooking the sea, and a new hotel is also being built on the right. But, this is the best panorama of all the rooms - you can sit on the balcony in the evening to drink rum, smoke tobacco and enjoy the sunset. Bliss! Again, there is a place to dry things.

Similar numbers - 509.510, 409.410, 309.310, 209.210, 109 and 110, but on floors from the fifth to the first. Accordingly, the lower the floor, the worse the view from the window.
In rooms 511.512, 411.412, 311.312, 211.212, 111 and 112, the view from the windows is blocked by the roof and wall of the neighboring hotel, located three meters away.
Rooms 201.202, 203 and 204 are located on the second floor above the lobby and have balconies.
The windows overlook the road and neighboring buildings. The road is noisy, traffic is around the clock, everyone is beeping, crazy motorbikes are making noise.
Similar rooms are from the third to the fifth floor with numbers 01.02, 03 and 04. But, they do not have balconies, and windows do not open at all because a line of power electric wires runs a meter from the windows, which, in addition, are very buzzing. There is nowhere to dry your bathing suit/towel.
Rooms from the second to the sixth floor with numbers 05.06, 07 and 08, due to the configuration of the building, balconies overlook the "well" between the two buildings with a view of the doors of other rooms. Sunlight practically does not get there, it is dark, damp and stuffy from the working heat exchangers of air conditioners that are installed on the balconies, and when people go out to smoke on the balcony, it smells of smoke. In addition, a very strong echo from road noise. In these rooms, the windows are always curtained, since, two meters away, there is a corridor of the neighboring building.
Numbers from 205.
305.405 and 505 go to the end of another building, and they have absolutely no balconies, but only a 0.6 X 0.3 m window-window. There is nowhere to dry your swimsuit / towel.

We checked into our room at 3:30 pm. When checking in, I asked the manager Linda about the availability of rooms 609.610, 611 and 612. To which she replied that these numbers are still occupied and the possibility of replacement will be at 12 o'clock the next day. As a result, we got number 403. Well, what can I say - horror! There is a big crack on the front wooden door. The room had a "French" window to the floor, which did not open in principle. A meter from the window there is a line of strongly buzzing power electrical wires, below the roadway. The bed is very large even for two, because of which there was no passage to the window, we had to jump over the corner of the bed. The water in the shower drained very slowly. The air conditioner is old - did not react in any way to temperature adjustments and fan speed.
At first, it somehow cooled, and in the morning, it seems, it generally worked in fan mode, while it was located so that it blew directly on us. In general, the room is very dark.
Room 611 is pleasant enough, with modern renovation. There was no dampness, fungus, mold, rodents and insects in the room - bright, clean, dry and non-smoky room.
Large double bed on a podium with lighting at the head. The mattress is quite hard, and the pillows are small and very soft, but you quickly get used to it. Flat TV on the wall (not a single Russian channel), electronic safe, new silent air conditioner, perfectly adjustable, but located directly opposite the bed, which is a bit inconvenient, wardrobe with shelves and a hanger, large dressing table with a mirror, mini fridge, one wooden stool, hanging bedside table. Near the window there is a soft couch. Two glasses for drinks, two tea mugs and teaspoons.
Two bottles of drinking water of 0.5 liters. The bathroom has one bar of soap, two shower gels, two large and two small towels, one foot towel. Kettle, hair dryer, coffee, cream, sugar shampoo and hair conditioner, toothpaste and brushes, cotton buds, combs, shower caps, bathrobe and slippers are not provided.
Upon check-in, it turned out that in room 611 one hand towel, an electronic clock were missing and the safe was blocked. At my request, all this was brought. On the second day of my stay, the water in the washbasin began to drain badly. The maid cleared the drain, and everything was fine. At times, the shower smelled of sewage, but this is a problem in many hotel rooms. They took an air freshener from the house and used it. There were no more problems with the number! In the washbasin, water was only at room temperature, in the shower there was always hot and cold water. There is no bath and shower - the water goes straight to the drain in the floor.

On the balcony, I pulled on a clothesline with clothespins that we always take with us on vacation - it was enough to dry the swimming trunks, my wife's swimsuit and two large towels. It dries very quickly in the sun. By the way, there is a canopy above the balcony, and the rain did not flood the linen.
The hotel is really very good audibility! And you can hear not neighboring rooms, but the corridor. When they knock, or the door to the next room opens, it seems that it is yours.
They cleaned the room every day - made the bed, changed towels, even if it was not the floor, reported gel, soap and toilet paper, put drinking water, swept and wiped the floor. The bed linen and bath towels are very white and without stains, but the hand towels are grayish in color, it can be seen that they are very “worn”. Gray, brown and blue beach towels were picked up at the lobby without any notes.
By the way, they didn't charge us for changing the room.
BUFFET.
We came quite early - when at 07:00, when at 07:40 and always there were all the dishes. If something ended, then you can ask to report. But for those who came closer to the closing of the dining room, little was shining.
LOCATION. About the location of the hotel in relation to the beach and public areas of Patong. Everyone writes that it is very successful, and I think so too. It is located in the northern part of Patong Beach (if you face the sea, this is the right side), on the second line, at the very beginning of the street. It’s really close to the sea, 7-10 minutes on foot, but it’s really far from the center. This is the very edge. Walk to the party center of Patong Beach - Bangla Road, Banzaan Market, Boxing Stadium and Jang Ceylon Shopping Center for 20-30 minutes. But, since we are not party people and Thai shopping is indifferent to us, it was indifferent to us - for all the time we moved to the center a couple of times and once walked along the third line of hotels.
Near the hotel, on the contrary, there is a "Family Mart" and an exchange office, but we did not change money there. The best rate in the area was near the Family Mart halfway down the road to the beach.

BEACH. There are two ways to get to the sea - either turn right from the hotel, walk to the nearest alley between the Ibis and Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa 4 * hotels and go to the beach in the beach toilet area directly to the sunbeds. Or, turn left from the hotel, turn left again at the end of the street and along the edge of the carriageway, having bought something along the way, go to the beginning of the beach. It is much cleaner there than in the center of the same beach and there are fewer people, not like “sprats in a jar”, on top of each other. You can find a place in the shade of palm trees near the sidewalk, or go a little further into the area of sun loungers, on which foreign pensioners, Chinese and Russian majors “decompose”. The cost of one sunbed and umbrella is 100 baht, and in the row closest to the sea - already 200 baht per person. As for the beach itself and the sea on Patong Beach, we were very pleased.
Smooth descent to the water, pleasant waves and clear turquoise water. White sand glistens in the sun, as if it contains glass fragments, and mother-of-pearl powder in the water. A minimum of garbage, only closer to the palm trees are small branches. One day, in the late afternoon, a wave washed up branches, sticks, boards with nails. The next morning, the beach was completely cleaned up. Also, at the end of the day, a lot of food containers, bottles, glasses, coconuts and other "tourist" garbage accumulate on the sidewalks. By morning everything was cleaned and swept. We lived on Karon Beach in April 2017, so there storm drains merged by gravity right in the place where Russian tourists were swimming. The Thais didn’t “get confused” for a second by the problem of cleaning storm sewers, and all the garbage, along with rainwater from the adjacent territory, from roads, from sidewalks, rushes into this channel and safely merges into the sea by gravity.
They got plastic bottles, bags with food containers, packages from the bottom of the sea. At the bottom lay huge leaves from trees. On top of that, the water was blue and clear (when you see your feet at the bottom) only three times, the rest of the time it was very cloudy. There were cases of the appearance of incomprehensible dirty bubbles on the surface of the sea and black silt in the water.
We went for a walk to the end of Patong Beach - go from end to end within 20 minutes. In the southern part of the beach, where the pier is full of boats and boats, the sea is shallower and the water is stagnant, or something, of a dark color. In addition, a regional stink river flows into the sea nearby. There was no desire to swim in this part of the beach.
STREET FOOD. In the Jewish cafe opposite the hotel "??????????? ? "ate a couple of times - they took mashed potatoes, schnitzel, vegetable salad, alfredo pasta. You can bring your own alcohol (rum, vodka, beer). The prices are high.

On the left road to the sea there are two identical cafes - the nearest "No.
9 Restaurant", and further "No. 9 2nd Restaurant. The menu includes Thai and European dishes. Toward evening there are practically no places in them - Europeans and Chinese are sitting. You cannot bring your own drinks. The prices are high.
If you are a fan of inexpensive authentic local cuisine, then I will recommend three places.
In a cafe "for locals" to the left of the hotel, ten meters away, inexpensive and delicious Thai dishes. You can bring your own alcohol (rum, vodka, beer). Prices are low.
Thai cafe "Bee Thai Food" on the left road to the beach. A set of Thai dishes: sour and spicy soup "Tom Yum Kung" 100 baht and boiled white rice to it 10 baht, noodle soup "Noodle soup" 80 baht, fried rice noodles with soy sprouts and seafood "Pad Thai" 80 baht, fried shrimp rice Khao Pad Kung 80 baht, spicy green papaya salad with beans and peanuts Som Tam 70 baht. You can bring your own alcohol (rum, vodka, beer). Prices are low. In the cafe across the wall, the same dishes cost half as much.
Most of all I liked the Muslim cafe "Saveena Halal Food" - I highly recommend it. The dishes in it are simply the highest! A set of authentic Thai dishes: sour and spicy soup "Tom Yum Kung" 80 baht and boiled white rice to it 10 baht, noodle soup "Noodle soup" 60 baht, fried rice noodles with soy sprouts and seafood "Pad Thai" 70 baht, fried rice with shrimp "Khao Pad Kung" 60 baht, spicy green papaya salad with beans and peanuts "Som Tam" 60 baht, Roti spring rolls 40 baht. Alcohol is prohibited in it at all - opposite the mosque. The prices are very low - I have not seen lower prices in Patong.
The cafe is located on the left road to the beach, but you need to turn not towards the sea, but to the right towards the third line, go up to the mosque and cross the pedestrian crossing to the opposite side.
TOTAL. As a result, the rest on Patong Beach did not disappoint us, but rather pleased us. We closed our eyes to some inconveniences and did not bother.

At the same time, it turned out to save about 10-15 thousand rubles, compared with a vacation on Karon Beach. On our next visit, we will choose accommodation in the northern part of Patong. I wish you all good luck and only pleasant impressions from your holiday in Thailand!
