Accommodation.
The room is small but comfortable enough, good water pressure, air conditioning works. Some kind of terrible stench from the cabinets, as if they were killing cockroaches. The bed is a light metal frame with a mattress placed on the floor next to the back. It is impossible to sit on the bed to read, the frame moves off, you can only sit on the bed like on a stool (without back support). “Whack-whack” is constantly heard through the walls - these are people moving the frame that has left. And finally, DISCO! On weekdays - until 12:00, on weekends - until 2:00. And it's not in my room, all the rooms are around this disco.
Upon check-in, we were greeted by someone else's hair on the floor, tiles stained with something brown, linen and towels of an incomprehensible gray color. The cleaning lady's favorite joke is to pick up towels while you are relaxing on the beach and return them only in the evening. He returned - wipe yourself with what you want, your problems. The towels themselves are saturated with some kind of vile fragrance and stink, hands stink after them too. I disdained to wipe my face with them. The floors are not kept clean in principle, dirt chases from corner to corner, tips do not help.
Waiters.
1) They look like bums. The black uniform around the waist is heavily spattered with scraps.
2) Obsessively trying to beg for a tip. Only jars for alms are not enough.
3) They simply ignore, do not fit.
Perhaps I should somehow ingratiate themselves with them? Pleasing them, remembering faces? Why did I give it up if I paid for the rest! Many vacationers simply waved their hand, bringing a bottle of water from their room so as not to get involved. Those that are meaner, insolently pour themselves wine from bottles. I'm not stingy, I tried tipping at first. What did I see? Dissatisfied face and water instead of cola.
In the morning there are not enough tea cups, coffee has to be poured into wine glasses.
We went 2 times for the tour at 6:15 and at 6:20. Lunchboxes are not provided at the hotel. Breakfast starts at 7:00, but the hotel guide assured us that starting from 6:00, especially for sightseers, you can have breakfast with some minimum (coffee, tea, buns). So, at 6:00 there are no cups (none), the water boiler is empty. But there are tourists with children who can neither have breakfast nor miss the bus. Guide (Pegasus) promised to look into it, but did not help. I had to chase the waiter with almost kicks for cups, although here the specific waiter is not and is not to blame. The hotel just doesn't care about tourists.
The food itself was good. There is always fruit, seafood, ice cream for dinner. The exception is disgusting coffee.
Beach.
There aren't enough beds for everyone. With me, some citizens agreed in a scandal for a place under the fungus. Yes, it's not pretty. But the thing is - again in the hotel. Why fill more people than places on the beach? For each beach towel you will have to pay a deposit of 20 dinars. What will we get? The booth where these towels are issued is supposedly open until 17:00 (why not until 19:00 when the beach closes? ). However, it is still permanently closed. We have to wait for an employee to come down to us to return the damp towel.
Bottom line: this hotel does not even reach 3 stars, because. even the basic things have not been implemented: normal sleep, mopping, problem-free food and relaxing on the beach without hassle. I absolutely do not recommend!

The air operator delayed the flight for 12 hours, i. е. actually "stole" half a day of rest. The tour operator Join Up did not warn the hotel about the delay, so on arrival the rooms were not waiting for tired travelers (they had already been given to others).
And now about the hotel. It has already been said that the management is bad. No, they just consider the Slavs as the second class of tourists and, at any opportunity, try to settle them in the Club building or even Neptune. The case is just ours: we were late, our tour operator did not say anything to them - and voila - two in the morning, welcome to the Marzaba Club, and the Resort voucher.
Next, a small war at the reception and waiting until 12-00 noon to check in at the Resort.
As a result, 24 hours of rest is simply stolen.
This is how the vacation with Ukrainian air carriers + Join Up begins.
About the hotel. Gorgeous territory, two swimming pools, a wide beach with a bar (from 6 to 19-30 the beach is open, a bar from 10 to 18). Three buildings. Resort, Club and Neptune.
In the Club and Neptune, the Wi-Fi is dead. The rooms are simpler than Resort, Neptune after a fresh renovation. For Neptune, we don’t sell tupets in Ukr.
They have a price list at the reception, the price tag for all buildings is the same. But your and our turbo operators rip off $ 300 for the Resort + 300 dollars, although in fact they pay the hotel the same way as for the Club. Set up and kidok cunning Ukrainian agencies!
And in general, be prepared for the fact that the Slavs (many Russians, because Egypt is closed to them) are not treated as politely as Europeans and Arabs. They pay extra tips for everything, so in chocolate (the Tunisian brethren love them, and the Russian speaker, being on the olinkusive))) does not "lubricate" the meager Tunisian palms with a ringing coin, so the attitude towards us there, to put it mildly, is like 2nd grade.
About the rooms. We didn’t see Neptune and the Club (we write from the words of the inhabitants), but in the Resort there is really a place for two in a standard room. Triple accommodation is an extra bed right next to the balcony glass. If a person weighs more than 35 kg - sleep like in a hammock. The resort room is clean. The girl is cleaning. He left a couple of dinars on the table. The conder worked only when the card was inserted. It is issued only one per room and it is tedious to extend it if a week of stay has ended and a ticket for more than 7 days.
Two restaurants. Ate in both. If you are from Neptune or Club, then you have one restaurant. Everywhere the food is good, we didn't go hungry. Pastries and sweets are better than Egypt. Drinking must be obtained, because. filling machines do not always work. But it's not difficult, the main thing is to tell the waiter what you want.
Staff language: Arabic, French, Russian at the level of "hello friend, how were you? ")))
General impression: the hotel is cleaner than many others. Solid 4 - Housing Resort. Animation for a C grade, there is a drink: beer, wine. I do not know the quality, they say the norms.
Taxi to Medina - until 9 pm - 3-4 dinars per car. At the start, they offer 10-7 dinars.
Reception exchange. Approximately 2.85 dinars for 1 dollar.
For simplicity, multiply 1 dinar by 10 and get almost the equivalent in UAH.
Figs and grapes are worn on the beach. The price tag is about three times more expensive than you can buy within a radius of 1 km from the hotel, if you set a goal. For 1 kg there are about 9 figs for 4 dinars. On the beach you will get 6 figs for 10 dinars, well, maybe you can bargain and get them for 8 dinars.
The townspeople are friendly.
Didn't want to leave.
In general, if you forget about the hypocrisy and indifference of tour operators, the dismissive attitude of hoteliers and survive! the process of settling, then you will clearly like the country and the hotel itself.

My sister and I have a tradition, if possible, to celebrate our birthdays outside of Ukraine. And since the work is exhausting and May, in principle, predisposes to a beach holiday. We decided to discover Tunisia, with a flight and all inclusive it came out to about 300 ye per person. Absolutely lifting price, they brought you - they took you away. They also feed 5 times during the whole time.
But back to the hotel. 4*. A herd of Russo tourists occupied the hotel. This eternal farce was annoying and having them around too!
When settling took out soft drinks, surprised. The room was great, the view from the room was amazing. The hotel is old but clean. If you do not pay attention to food near each door in the morning and glasses or bottles. It seems that the Arabs have a rest. The impression is that it was built for a larger number of tourists who are not there now.
The staff speaks Russian! For 5 days they taught us to speak ONLY in English! Afterwards, they heard “that’s Ukrainians that speak only english”
The staff is dumb. This is the most accurate description of the 10 people at the reception who hang out there all the time.
In Tunisia, the free circulation of foreign currency is restricted by law. You can change currency in hotels but you need a check! so that in which case you confirm from where you have dinars. And if you have local money left, then at the airport you will exchange it back for currency! They won't change without a document. 4 days in hotels "does not work" machine that prints receipts. The girl at the reception just from the word "hi" is already trying to pretend to be a chameleon and merge with the wall behind her. And sometimes dive under the counter and pretend that she is very busy there, pushing and moving away a drawer with documents. The eyes of a beaten deer Bambi. Amoebic to the point of disgrace. The hotel changes money without spending them on documents! Any financial transaction including currency exchange must be documented.
This is an operation with which an enterprise, that is, a hotel, pays tax and reports to the Ministry of Finance. But it is much more convenient to do everything in black! Therefore, the device does not work for them! And this is not an accident, this is a rule. On the 4th day, we got tired of this circus with “does not work” and decided to still get a receipt, as the vacation was coming to an end.
Again, the deer Bambi rounded her eyes and pretended that she was a statue of a frightened sheep. A “representative of the operator”, an aunt who speaks Russian, ran in, her functional duties were never disclosed. In addition to working as a “tongue” in the lobby with backward ladies of the same kind, she did nothing. But the "baby" called the "bug". The bug did nothing and called the "cat" - this is the hotel manager, a scandalous aunt, who, in principle, kind of helps, but scandals and snorts more than helps.
At the cries of “we are not thieves”, she called the “mouse” uncle who pressed the button twice and oh-la-la the machine for printing receipts still works! As a result, 4 managers half an hour of scandal and a check in hand.
Then there was a day, my sister and I decided to rent a car. To which Abdul / Ahmet or some other “Aladdin” who is part-time our guide in Tunisia from the tour operator Join up shouted that he would not let him in, it’s impossible only on excursions from the operator - he was sent far and for a long time in sugar along with his excursions . The car rental review was left on the Europcar website. Briefly bred for money!
Circumstances developed so that I had to leave one day before the tour. I had a ticket in my hands with the departure time and flight number, so I decided to ask Dolly the sheep to call the airport 10 minutes from Sousse in the city of Monastir and clarify to confirm the departure time. Has it changed to know when to leave. And ...the story with the "turnip" repeats itself.
Dolly has fright, fear and tears in her eyes. An aunt who does not work but sits in the hall for extras tells me that the duties of the receptionist do not include calling anywhere. This aunt decided to bring a "combat unit" weighing 120 kg, which also sharpens its tongue and does not work all day, and connected it to this dialogue. To which, having learned that the aunt was carrying a Russo tourist, she was sent to follow her sheep further, which, apart from swelling, had no other special plans. Me intervene in a dialogue that does not concern her. The hotel manager comes running, who says that the girl does not know the phone number of the airport. Excuse me, but the god Google is only for a reasonable person, a lamb in his hands does not know how to use a phone? Okay Google...WiFi to help phone found gave Dolly. Received no response once. Clap-clap eyes ....and dial a second time, a third, find the phone of the cash register and ask for another number.
This is all higher mathematics and an integral equation, which is an unsolvable problem.
They woke up Alibaba, he doesn’t understand at all what they want from him, and he excuses himself by calling back in 15 minutes, or in translation from Tunisian “never”.
6 people around one piece of paper and requests to clarify the departure time !! ! 6 managers for whom a call to a nearby airport is an impossible task!
The porter came. Looked at the phone, got through. I explained in English that I needed, as it turned out on the website, the phone number is listed at another airport. Under dictation, they wrote down the correct number. They called back on the correct one. 2 minutes of conversation, the departure time was confirmed. All.
The hotel porter helped with the question in 5 minutes. And these chickens and sheep for an hour have refined my brain telling me what I can and cannot ask and to whom I should contact !!!
One person can replace the entire staff of this fucking hotel!
The only good impression from the waiters of the restaurant. Thank you very much for your work and your attitude towards the guests of the hotel. Also the girls who cleaned the room.

Beach boy / animation is another story. Accustomed to Rousseau tourists allow themselves a lot of excess. “Hello Natasha” / bunny / pussy / kss-ksss is disgusting to hear. Apparently the neighbors come here for parebrikom for exotic and sex. Receiving a rebuff, we hear in response "Russians like it that way. " Well, Ukrainians NO. The difference is quickly learned when you call them Algerians. The picture of the world quickly falls into place.

In short, the country is beautiful, the sea is clean! In May, it is still cold, but you can take a dip once an hour. There are almost no algae in the water. Transparent azure. Sand Fine as dust, white. Nothing works during Ramadan. From July to September in the sea jellyfish that sting painfully! The local people are wild! Taxi is cheap! Sitting down, ask to turn on the counter without it, do not sit down, they will fool you!
The French, the Spaniards, the Romans have tried to teach them to be human...but apparently this is not possible.

Again, there is an exception, but not enough!

I forgot IMPORTANT they found a syringe in the sand on the beach from the hotel !!!! ! Be careful with children!

We were brought to the hotel around 23:00. At the reception we were told that our room was not in this building, but in another - Marhaba Club. This did not suit me, since we booked the Marhaba Resort. To this we were offered to spend the night in the room that was originally assigned to us, and in the morning the question of another room would be decided, since this should be decided with the authorities. We were taken to a neighboring building, to some semi-basement. The room is terrible: it stinks of dampness, a lot of mosquitoes, they have bloody marks on the walls, mold in the bathroom. There is no drinking water in the room, no glasses. The bathtub is so terrible that people got into it in slippers. No soap, shower gels, shampoo. An unwrapped shower cap hung from a nail. The windows overlook the pool, yelling disco. In general, the horror is terrible. Before that, we were offered to have dinner at a restaurant located in the same building. We went in and left immediately - it smelled very chlorine. They lay down hungry. In the morning we went to the reception to resolve the issue with the number. There was no solution. Only when I hinted that I would thank you, they offered me a room. The room is quite good. On the third (last) floor of the main building. Windows on the territory (visible palm trees and the sea). In the room were: glasses, shower gels, soap, shampoos. There are no slippers, I don’t talk about bathrobes at all. Nothing smelled, no mold. For this number, I was asked for a 100 dollars (not dinars, just dollars) bribe. As a result, agreed on 40 dollars. Now briefly about the advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
1) nice beach with umbrellas. White sand, relatively clean. BUT umbrellas and trestle beds need to be occupied until 7 in the morning, otherwise then you will either have no trestle beds at all, or only in the sun (which is unbearable);
2) the sea is super! Very good in both calm and storm. Unlike other regions of Tunisia, there was not a lot of algae in the sea, the water is very clean;
3) the room was cleaned every day. No comments. No money was given for cleaning;
4) quite a large area.
Disadvantages:
1) a restaurant. This is not a restaurant, this is a canteen. The food is monotonous, tasteless. There is practically no choice. Every day is the same with slight variations. Breakfast was the same all 14 days. There are very long queues for scrambled eggs and pancakes. The chefs cooked them very slowly, slowly talking to each other. By coincidence, we could not fly out of Tunisia and the tour operator settled us in a three-star hotel for the duration of the flight delay. So it fed better than in our hotel. The service is terrible, you can say that it is not. We must look for forks, knives, napkins, salt and pepper. The functions of the waiters are only to clean the dirty dishes, and then when the clean ones have already ended. By the way, clean dishes are not very clean. Constantly something ends (this applies to dishes and food). I took wine once. They poured it into a plastic disposable cup for me, as the glasses, of course, ran out. I have never tasted such a disgusting wine in my life. I didn't drink any more alcohol. Fruits are all pawed with their own hands to choose the riper one. And there are no devices to take these fruits not with your hands, no.
2) towels. Towels are issued on bail - 20 dinars per towel. The time for issuing towels remained unclear. You can come at 9 am and the issue of towels will be closed. You can come at 8 and take them. The reception does not respond to complaints about the late opening of the issuance of towels. The towel dispenser is an outright boor. Towels are not changed during the day. The deposit can be given in dollars or euros, but it is returned only in dinars.
3) staff. The staff is rude and unfriendly. I have not come across this either in Turkey, or in Egypt, or in Spain, or in China - nowhere. In my opinion, it was below their dignity to serve tourists. Animation is normal. I was not particularly fond of animation, but the child went several times, was pleased;
4) it was noisy in the room in the evenings when the show started. Moreover, this noise was not so much from our hotel as from the neighboring one. You can only sleep with a closed balcony;
5) the first two days the air conditioner did not work.
Conclusion: I will not go to this hotel again. Left not a very good impression. Not worth your money

We arrived at the hotel at about 18:00 local time, settled quite quickly, gave out the key to the room, helped bring things, when asked about the location of the restaurant in the hotel and everything else at the reception, they somehow explained. Further "wonderful room" - if you can call it that, the room was given on the basement floor overlooking a broken wall and sewer pipes. On the subject of cleanliness, this was not observed in the room, except for dust on the bedside tables and a specific smell in the bathroom, hair was everywhere, including in a supposedly clean bed. There was an impression that after the previous tenants the bed was simply removed, but they did not change it. Of course, the number was changed the next day, of course, not without the help of a guide, but the sediment remained. In after the resettlement, they gave a room in the same building but already on the first floor overlooking the pool. They cleaned the room well and changed the towels every day, left a tip for the maid or a small chocolate bar "Alenka" for some reason they really like our Russian chocolate. Now about the dining room, because. It’s hard to call it a restaurant. There wasn’t much variety in the kitchen, everything was almost monotonous, they experimented a little with salads, but in general, all 9 days were the same. plus, undoubtedly full of fruits, despite the beginning of June, they gave watermelons, melons, strawberries, I really liked desserts, drinks were issued mainly in plastic cups, but you could take glasses for a tip to the bartender, Wine and juices, let's say for an amateur. We had to look for cutlery, napkins and salt shakers ourselves, I am already silent about the cleanliness of plates and tablecloths on the tables. in the morning there are huge queues for pancakes and scrambled eggs. For a fee, the waiters booked tables and served them as expected. The beach as a whole is not a bad sand, beauty, but you need to take a place at 7-8 in the morning, otherwise there will not be enough mothras and you will have to lie on a plastic sun lounger without amenities, and if you also need an umbrella, then you need to go out from 7 hours, some places are stupidly occupied and no one comes but the towels are hanging, in the pool the same picture in the afternoon there is nothing free at all but there are a lot of occupied places. In the pool, the water is clean and the area is more well-groomed. To the animators, they are well done, very positive and more friendly. In general, we are satisfied with the rest, but not with the service and cleanliness of the hotel, for this money you can put normal furniture in the rooms and make noise isolation in the rooms, the music from the neighboring hotel was screaming louder than the animation of our hotel, and if you and your child will put it down it will be difficult. Moreover, we have tiles on the balcony and the floor is slippery; you need to walk carefully, you can fall very well. There is air conditioning but it did not work, as we were told, it will be turned on only in July, there is not much heat yet. perhaps for a fee would include but we did not bother. In general, the hotel itself did not live up to expectations, although the travel agency assured that it was chic.

They have already praised a lot here, I will pour a small fly in the ointment into a barrel of honey. We are currently staying at this hotel. 4 stars are not close here, 3 stars and no more. Of course, those who have not seen real 4-star hotels and are used to relaxing in the Crimea write with boiling water. Restaurant....., rather a simple dining room for the unpretentious in food, a buffet with a poor assortment, on the 4th day there was a desire to spit on the notorious "all inclusive" and go to lunch in a cafe in the city. . . service is mediocre.... , wine from plastic cups, lack of a saucer under the cups, and sometimes the cups themselves, for dinner you constantly have to look for forks and knives, however, you can throw a couple of dinars to the waiter and he will put the cutlery on your table, ordinary napkins are also not always present. By the way, do not take the local beer that is included in the price - donkey urine, it is better not to be stingy and buy a normal, European. There are no ordinary bathrobes in the room, today, for example, during cleaning, collect towels and forgot to hang up new ones, after visiting the reception with this problem, one appeared (ONE), when they presented it again, they heard an apology and assurances to hang the rest tomorrow. Soap - a small piece is placed once for the entire period, I just had to buy it in the store. With cleaning, too, somehow not so much.....apparently some religious views do not allow you to clean everything and everywhere, there are heaps of garbage all over the country, they clean it on the territory of the hotel, but if you look behind the bush or just looked out the window you will see garbage again. In general, the service is three with a minus, for those who are accustomed to the Crimean resorts, it is suitable, for those who are waiting for the level of 4 stars, it is better to abstain and find something else for the same money. Pleases the sea and the sun. Well, in general, despite the negativity expressed above, we do not regret that we went. Although next year we will definitely choose at least 5 stars, maybe they will reach the normal 4 or even another country, for example Cyprus, where the service is several orders of magnitude higher.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS REVIEW is to clearly inform about the intricacies of the hotel itself and show its advantages and disadvantages, which go side by side here. My review will be long and informative enough. This is my 4th trip to Tunisia, of which there were 2 info tours. The best season in Tunisia, when the weather is the most stable, is from mid-June to mid-September. Although May and October have their advantages. The reason for buying this tour was the anniversary birthday of a friend. But due to the manipulations of the operator, this celebration was celebrated on the road, and not on the beach. For changing the city of departure from Kharkiv to Kyiv, for shifting the departure time from morning to evening, our separate claim is to the tour operator "Oasis Travel". Personally, my motive for booking this resort was initially the early booking price tag of $1185 for Dbl std for 11 nights (04/09/2016-15/09/2016).
SETTLEMENT. We arrived at the hotel at 00.30 local time (02.30 am in our opinion).
After that, to celebrate, the tour operators assigned 4 stars to the complex, initially it was a three-star. On the site of our operator, this information was indicated rather vaguely (see photo), while others do not have it at all. For those who will now teach me to put money in my passport, so that they give me a "good number" I will say right away: why on earth ? ! With our bait, we ourselves are to blame for the fact that they are used to ripping off money from us for the appropriate resettlement (in Marhaba, the trick did not work with us) ...But at the same time, our citizens constantly stupidly forget about tips for porters, waiters and maids! So, about the difference between these numbers. Economic (the room itself): S=12m2 (3.5x3.5). The filling of the room: 2 shifted one and a half beds with forging at the head, the length of the mattress is 175 cm. Therefore, those who are taller than 170 cm, be prepared for feet hanging from the bed, digging into the ribs and spine, springs, holofiber falling in the pillows.
2 bedside tables, TV (2 Russian channels), built-in wardrobes in the dressing room, balcony plastic furniture (table + chair) on the concrete balcony area without outlining railings, empty mini-bar, not working phone, no coffee table and chairs. Other disadvantages: inside, the floor tiles are more like paving slabs, everything is old and dilapidated, the terrible noise from the central air conditioner is working and the audibility of how the neighbors' drain tank is working. From the outside, a view of the chain-link mesh that encloses trash on the territory of the neighboring Marhaba Beach or you can go to the animation stage, the sucky show lasts until 00.00, i. e. 02.00 in our opinion. Afterwards, at the same tables or on the summer terrace of the lobby, drunken youth frolic until the morning, who do not sleep until dawn. And closing the balcony door does not save from this fun, the hotel has amazing acoustics! In general, from 21.00 to 02.00 you will be surrounded by a musical cacophony of evening animations and discos.
Air conditioning is available from 15 June to 15 September. For reference: smoking, alcohol, sunburn and lack of sleep reduce immunity, and with the door closed, people are automatically forced to turn on the air conditioner. As a result, 75% of hotel guests coughed and sneezed, often without covering their mouths - as if I were in some kind of leper colony or tuberculosis dispensary. As a result: either stuffy, or noisy, or flies for ...sitting. If you are a light sleeper, early riser or eat with small children who can't explain what earplugs are (you can't do without them! ), weigh the pros and cons before booking Marhaba Resorts and the resort of Sousse in general, because it is a party resort. And if you are given a metal key with a heavy keychain - this is already a bad sign ...These numbers do not reach the level of 3 *. There were no cold snacks upon arrival at night, about which I was assured by Guest relations in personal correspondence ...
She also informed that the "Birthday cake" service at the hotel is paid: 5 dinars per 1 person, and the minimum cost of a cake starts from 25 dinars (equivalent to $12). Water, at our request, was brought by a receptionist, who was powerless to replace the room immediately without deductions from the baksheesh, but promised that this was a "misunderstanding" for only one night. Thank you! Water at night was priceless and he kept his promise. With us, the rooms were replaced by four more fellow travelers from Kyiv, who were extremely dissatisfied with this "misunderstanding". Hungry and tired, having managed to take a nap somehow for 3 hours, the next day at 12.30 we all, being persistent, changed the number to the one that corresponded to the paid category. Everyone was moved to the Central bloc and suspect the best of the worst 3 rooms in the neighborhood: frontal sea view and the last 4th floor (see photo). Fortunately, we are still able to overcome the ascent of the spiral staircase outside the building ...
For from the only elevator, the way with luggage was long and it was much more difficult to find an elevator in the corridor labyrinths with thresholds and steps without ramps. But if such an incident happened to you during the high season, I can’t guarantee the replacement of the room, as well as its extension after 12.00 on the day of departure. Half of the standards are already worn out and not repaired. And if I didn't have a photo of the room categories and didn't take a screenshot of the information from the operator's website, then who knows...This is the hotel management strategy, it's outright fraud and extortion! What is the Standart room: S=18m2 (3.5x5). In addition to fresh painting from Economic, the standard room is distinguished by the presence of two soft chairs at the coffee table, good tiles, a mattress length of 190 cm (relatively comfortable), an empty, stupidly opening mini-bar with an approximate temperature of + 15C, the air conditioner at minimum power cooled well and was almost inaudible, linen closets are placed inside the room.
There are 3 outlets: 1 in the bathroom, 1 in the room, one hidden in the closet. If you have a lot of gadgets, I recommend a tee. But pay attention to the photo of the outlet, the protruding pin will be an obstacle for round electrical plugs. Adapters are sold in the shop at the hotel. I also recommend taking your own hair dryer and a small electric kettle, you will understand later why. The tap water is brackish (outdated distillers) and very chlorinated, there is always hot water and good pressure. To prevent hair from becoming tow on the 2nd day, rinse with mineral water from bottles. The safe was not rented. At least we didn’t have incidents with theft, which is not uncommon here: we carried money and credit cards with us, we almost don’t wear red tsatsok, and we didn’t leave a chance to profit in our room. Phones still do not charge if you are not in the room - there will be no light without a card inserted into the slot or a weight key fob.
Only one key card is issued, and when the second is issued, the first one is blocked automatically. We calmly left our passports in a suitcase, we carried photocopies with us to the city. The bracelets of those living in the Central Bloc were turquoise, those in the Club were white. For the loss of a bracelet, a fine of 30 dinars ($ 15) is provided, with a late check-out they were not cut off. Near the reception there is an unguarded and accessible luggage room.
CLEANING. When checking in, the floor was washed once, after 7 days the bed was changed, towels are collected during the day and returned after 16-17.00. This is how the laundry works, there is a shortage of spare kits. We hid dry towels in the closet to dry off at lunchtime. The garbage was regularly taken out, the bed was made, shampoo, shower gel and soap (although it is like paraffin) were always there. If cleaning wasn't required, we put a "do not disturb" sign on the door outside. Tipping was left every other day when there was a need to take out the trash and change towels.
1 time the air conditioner leaked (the balcony door was closed), 1 time it leaked from the bidet hose. In general, due to the design of the enclosing glass in the bathroom, a little water always accumulated on the floor - the foot towel suffered first, you need to direct the hose towards the taps and squat. A couple of breakdowns were fixed within 30 minutes after calling the reception on tel. 3414 (spoke in English). Both maids and repairmen work only with open doors. There are no claims against them.
TERRITORY. Moderately large, clean, green. Always smiling gardeners do their best, and from 7.00 the cleaners wash and clean the territory of the night party from cigarette butts and sticky stains. With the help of free Wi-Fi at the reception, I easily called home via Viber, watched youtube online. We were lucky, Wi-Fi also flew in the room, but on the beach even text is weak. Sports shoes are required for the gym (1 hour per day free of charge).
On the beach, self-service with sun loungers.
And if we wanted to sit under large canopies with regular shade (there are three of them, although there are 4, there are four frames), we occupied a sunbed until 8.00. After all, half of the beach "mushrooms" are dilapidated and the shadow from them is like broth from under eggs. We brought our own thick towels. The hotel has old blue and white ones, there is a problem to change them for fresh ones. Towels are issued against a deposit of 20 dinars ($ 10), which is returned only in dinars and it is not clear where to put them on the day of departure. You will have to run around the airport on the way back in search of the only exchanger capable of exchanging the remaining TND for dollars, losing on commissions and only if you have a certificate "On exchanging $ for TND". It is forbidden to export dinars from Tunisia. It’s easier to buy from merchants right on the beach or in a hotel store, the prices are adequate. Chaise lounges-mesh without mattresses - I personally was comfortable, but many complained about their absence. Sea: 20m goes aground, then deep.
There are showers and toilets on the beach and by the pool. Regarding the sewage storm drain, which goes out to the sea - if it exists, it is at a decent distance from the hotel. It was not too critical for me personally: no feces and fuel oil were noticed, the sea was muddy 2-3 times in the afternoon. Of course, we refrained from swimming - a common practice of dumping sewage in other visa-free resorts.
THE DRINKS. Alcohol is issued from 10.00 to 00.00 in the 2nd lobby and at the Central Bloc pool, in the beach bar and near the quiet Club Club until 17.00, if available (2 disposable cups in hand, with rare exceptions for tipping the bartender). I did not feel any discrimination or hostility on myself and did not notice on others. On the beach, I drank the only thing that I could take myself and without a queue - it was tea bags. And I try not to drink local strong alcohol at all. I prefer to take our vodka and cognac (1 liter and a block of cigarettes per person) and buy additional whiskey in Dyutik.
But I did a tasting: I liked rum, gin, pastis (a sambuca-type liquor), and whiskey and booze (an analogue of vodka) are a rare muck, the strength is only 20-25 degrees. They can only be ordered in the lobby at the reception or in the evening at the bar by the central pool, not in the dining room. In the lobbies of the two buildings, they were pounding a kind of cocktails, mixing all this shmurdyak with ice, soda or Upi, because it is difficult to drink it in its pure form. Coffee machines were freely available, well, that's it. On the beach and in 2 restaurants, only beer and young dry wine of 3 colors are served. Juices are only powdered, even purchased in packages of $ 3 per 1 L are disgusting. On the beach, beer/wine often runs out in the middle of the day and can be refilled up to 30 minutes before the bar closes, or not refilled at all. And if there is no queue at the bar, the phrase will definitely sound: "Sorry ALL finished! ". But the main problem of many hotels in Tunisia is drinking water!
Because of her, be prepared for salty tea and coffee, diluted milk in the shade for coffee for breakfast (even a sprite that reeked of chlorine - I spat it out of habit into a nearby urn) ...In five days, either get used to it or give up everything these drinks during the holidays. The food is also cooked on such brackish water from large bottles, its origin is not known to me. But if you use water from 1-1.5l. bottles, which were handed out one at a time to each vacationer from 19.00 to 22.00 in the lobby bar (with or without gas), having your own electric kettle and good coffee, this problem will be slightly smoothed out.
NUTRITION. Breakfast 7.30-10.00, lunch 12.30-14.30; dinner with seating is divided into 2 shifts: 18.00-19.15 (30 min. break for changing the serving) and 19.45-21.00. On the first evening, the restaurant administrator assigns a certain table to the room, at which you have dinner on the 1st or 2nd shift of your choice.
Because of this, I personally had a feeling of some kind of sovietness: to have time to have dinner in the time range of an hour to fifteen, and from the 1st shift of people in 15 minutes. before the end of the meal, they were already asked to "round off". The hotel solved the problem of the lack of normal snacks by allowing vacationers to take food out of the restaurant. Therefore, it is often possible to see around the territory that someone did not bring his own dirty plate to where he filled it. The range of food for 4 * is surely good! But here the quality of cooking time and again is not necessary. The same meat products, vegetables, first courses will cook well once: these are french fries, stewed peppers, harmful fish pangasius, beef stroganoff from turkey, cutlets on the children's table, well, chicken is generally difficult to spoil ...Although it was possible - barbecue from fillet the only time cooked on the beach was raw.
Yes, and they did terrible with other products: the beef was not finished, the rubber liver was overcooked and not processed from the chaff, the couscous was oversalted and overcooked, the eggplants were fresh and dry, the first courses were also edible every other time, there were not enough tomato-cucumbers for them and the salad some chopped greens. As salvation, there is mayonnaise and olive oil, ketchup and harissa. There is NO boiled meat or some steamed meatballs for those who are on a diet. From a conditionally children's menu: fries, pasta, pizza and sometimes meatballs, which adults scatter in the blink of an eye; rice porridge for breakfast is not milky enough, but there are excellent yoghurts, muesli, milk in jugs and honey. There are no milk shakes or paid fresh juices. There was always veal for lunch and dinner; alternating chicken with fish. Less often cooked turkey, meatballs. For 11 days of vacation, 2 times for dinner there were frozen small shrimps. And in honor of the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, 1 time there was soft lamb on the rib ...
However, this evening there was still a problem with the availability of clean plates! People, like restless people, walked around the food and came to saliva. And I remembered the once held action "Barbecue on the Beach" with a queue, like at the Last Judgment. Fruits were seasonal, 1-2 species at a time. The strawberry season lasts until about the end of May, and dates usually ripen in mid-November and their presence was a surprise for us. I really liked the grapes, apples, peaches. And plums and watermelon with melon, like grass. For some reason, there were no oranges, grapefruits and bananas. For dessert, delicious biscuit canapes and profiteroles with cream cheese filling, and in the evening excellent ice cream. Breakfast is standard: eggs, scrambled eggs, good boiled sausage and pastries. We had no cases of poisoning and did not go hungry. But the principle applies absolutely everywhere: "Who managed, he ate! ". That is why one of us, if he saw something relatively appetizing in appearance, immediately put it on a plate for both ...
After 3 minutes, this simply could not have happened or replenished when the dessert had already been eaten. On no trip I ate with anyone from the same plate, immediately the organization of the public catering of Marhaba forced me to sink to the level of cattle with its smart-ass issuance of dishes. By the way, for those who are not in the know: going to a restaurant in the evening, especially for lunch or dinner in openly beachwear (in a pareo over a wet swimsuit, in a T-shirt and shorts for swimming), how to put on sandals on socks is a bad form. Still, they would come to a restaurant in pajamas and a long linen robe ...But there are always individuals who think something like this: "I'm on vacation, so I can do anything. " Please don't be like that, don't be ashamed to look the part at dinner.
MAIN PROBLEMS 4 * complex Marhaba Resorts (more information for the top management of the hotel):
1. Giant lines.
They are behind everything: for beer and wine on the beach; for scrambled eggs, meat, ice cream and fruit in restaurants; for rubber pancakes at the pool bar. Often for 10-15 minutes there are empty containers with main dishes, and from the middle of the day the beer and wine in the beach bar ends and is not replenished. Looking at the 40-minute queue at the bars, the desire to drink a beer or cola simply disappears. There is a solution: competent distribution of workers - you need at least 3 bartenders at the beach bar and deploy machines with soft drinks in bars for self-service; Control over the timely replenishment of main dishes / dishes in the restaurant and drinks in bars; to make omelettes and pancakes, cooks need more powerful stoves and personal promptness. The creation by managers of artificial excitement and slowness in a hotel designed for 1500 people is unacceptable. Everywhere there is a shortage of hardworking personnel.
Only their smiles save the impression, and their work without proper supervision is a bad way to manage and save money! In 4 * hotels in Egypt, they switched to a la carte distribution of meat dishes a long time ago, but I have not seen such incredible queues there.
2. Conduct master classes for cooks who do not know how to cook for Europeans - then people will impose less different food because of the created excitement, so that later they will leave part of it on the plate because of inedibility. Set up a children's menu, a dietary table. Introduce "snack time" into the hotel concept: by the pools and on the beach during the day, in the lobby or in the restaurant at night (sandwiches, burgers or canapes; fruits, biscuits, donuts, etc. ). Taking food out of a restaurant leads to a catastrophic shortage of dishes and often large-scale theft, to unsanitary conditions in rooms and corridors, for this, Room service has been invented all over the world. For newly arrived guests, at least 1.5 liters of water should already be available in the rooms.
And the service "Cake for a birthday man for his money" is a complete disregard for ways to encourage the consumer, that is, non-price methods of sales promotion. While eating in restaurants, variety in the music lounge selection would not hurt, and not the eternally wheezing Alegrova with her "I'll part the clouds with my hands", Chill Out radio to help! And enter the dress code for guests during dinner.
3. Provide the territory of the beach, pools, evening animation with a sufficient number of personal ashtrays. Purely not where they clean, but where they do not litter.
4. When checking in, notify your guests in writing about the rules of civilized behavior on the territory of the hotel at night, about the possibility of imposing a fine and more severe measures to pacify insane brawlers.
5. It is necessary to change the booking system - accommodation, make it more transparent and appropriate! Your Economic rooms will never become Standard without major repairs and soundproofing.
In hotel ethics, there is a classification of rooms that are inferior in comfort to the main number of rooms and are offered to customers at a reduced price at the stage of buying a tour (ROH, Econom, Promo room, etc. ) - this is a category of rooms provided at the discretion of the hotel administration (may be damp , without repair or balcony, without a window or the declared view, located near a source of noise or unpleasant odors). Start at least by replacing mattresses and pillows in Neptun & Medina cases; from purchases of bath towels and bed linen for the hotel (completeness is required for replacement).
6. Update ancient beach towels, arrange for their provision and replacement. And I'm hinting at the purchase of the cheapest electric kettles, since there is such a problem with water quality, so that tourists do not drag their own with electric plugs that are not adapted for Tunisian sockets.
7. Theft from the rooms, there are security omissions!
Managers should impose a strict ban on maids from opening a room at the request of a tourist under any pretext: "I don't want to wake my wife; the door slammed shut and I forgot the key inside, " etc. The answer should be one: "Come to the reception. " Ideally, video cameras should work in the corridors. All this is a positive image of the hotel. In the meantime, these measures have not been taken, vacationers, watch your valuables and money yourself or rent a safe at the reception: 2 TND per day + deposit for the key 20 TND.
8. Service and its misinterpretation. From the hotel staff you expect not complete inaction with a silent expression on your face: "No money - no honey! " or other familiar remarks with a greasy smile, but the fulfillment of their direct duties! Phrases: "Welcome to Marhaba Resorts! ", "Would you like to drink? " and "Bon appetit" would definitely be appropriate. All employees of hotels in Tunisia receive a monthly salary of $ 300-400.
TIPS - this is just an additional bonus to the employee after his quality service and they should be left at the discretion of the client! And the inhabitants of North Africa made it the norm for the Slavs to set a clear fee, charging a fee or gifts before rendering any service that is due to them anyway ...However, this is no longer a tip! This is a bribe, a bribe, or, as the Arabs call it, "baksheesh. " And it works precisely with our post-Soviet mentality. Wealthy tourists from Western Europe know how to respect themselves and defend their rights, and do not shower banknotes on lazy slickers in order to get a "glass of water" already paid for and an acceptable room to stay. And this is just the setting of rules for employees by hotel managers.
If I were a manager at Marhaba Resorts, a week and a minimum financial investment would be enough for me to eliminate these problems - they are all elementary solvable!
And the hotel would have become a full-fledged 4-star (by Egyptian standards, even a "five-economy" or 4 * +), and not remain a three with a claim to 4 * - the Marhaba Resort has excellent potential for this. And do not start "Israel's Lament" that there is a crisis in Tunisia. The usual cost of a tour for two at Marhaba Resorts for July-September without a discount for early booking or not a day before departure is far from friendly: about $ 1150-1300 for 7 nights. This is 25-40% more expensive than the price list of hotels in Egypt on the 1st line, similar in terms of territory, food and the Arab level of service. Stay ahead of your competitors. And you might think that after the jump in 2014, the dollar exchange rate from 8.2 to 26.5 UAH. per dollar non-crisis : )))
FINDINGS. There is no particular difference in the standard rooms of the buildings. But at Central Bloc (Resort), the restaurant seemed to me more comfortable, bright and with an open area for smoking. I note that at least in the central block there is not a single room looking at the entrance to the hotel and the busy roadway - this is a fat plus.
At this stage of the development of the hotel, I would recommend it only for active young people aged 18-30 who appreciate a good range of food, active animation and beach and disco holidays. Although the contingent of vacationers said otherwise - there were many families with small children and those over forty. And many of these tourists, oddly enough, were satisfied with the choice of the hotel: they ate, drank, took a nap, got drunk and life was good. But! . . It is always extremely unpleasant for me that the Russian language spoken by such geniuses as S. Yesenin, M. Bulgakov, L. Pasternak and many others can evoke associations with the behavior of young people who do not think that because of their night screams, a mother cannot put her child to sleep, the elderly have a headache from chronic lack of sleep ...Associations with people who leave behind mountains of half-eaten food and dirt ...
Associations with the defiant behavior of some women and men, thinking about some kind of superiority over the staff and not appreciating their work and the right of other tourists to a good rest.
I thank all the staff of the Marhaba Resorts hotel for trying to make my personal stay in Tunisia as comfortable as possible. I sincerely wish you a good season in the coming years. Watch your competitors, strive for the best and work for the future. Bonne Chance!
P. S. Judging by the real reviews, since September 2016, the hotel management has not taken into account most of my recommendations.

Meals are ordinary three meals a day with local alcohol. No frills, but you won't go hungry. If we consider the hotel as a budget option for recreation - you can go. Rest is designed for a family or youth option with a limited budget. The proximity of the center of Ssus (2 kilometers, 20-25 minutes on foot) is another advantage of the hotel. Attached is a video of the hotel.

THERE WILL BE VERY, VERY, VERY MANY BEECHES))) Hello, I’ll start with the fact that they were looking for a hotel on an emergency basis, because the opportunity to spend a vacation with the whole family appeared unexpectedly, even at the agency they asked the operator to find a FAMILY QUIET HOTEL 4 * in the tourist area for 11-12 nights, as a result, they sold my wife for 10 days for the price of 12 nights in the city center with two discos on the territory screaming until 12 at night. … More ▾ THERE WILL BE VERY, VERY, VERY MANY BEECHES)))
Hello, I’ll start with the fact that they were looking for a hotel on an emergency basis, because the opportunity to spend a vacation with the whole family appeared unexpectedly, even at the agency they asked the operator to find a FAMILY QUIET HOTEL 4 * in the tourist area for 11-12 nights, as a result, they sold my wife for 10 days for the price of 12 nights in the city center with two discos on the territory screaming until 12 at night. Plus, when buying, we were not told that we would be accommodated in the Neptune building, which in a past life was 3 *, and now 4 * economy. As they later explained to us, it was 3 different hotels, now they have one owner, a united territory, and they all became 4 *.
So we arrived, at the reception they gave us a key, and the uncle who was supposed to take us to the room snatched my bag and suitcase from me (although they didn’t ask him about it) and ran with a cheerful saiga to show us the room, galloping after him to the room, and this is 150 meters -200, began to look around, I note then we still did not know that the number was ECONOMY)). The room is small, clean (due to the fact that the entire floor both in the bathroom and in the room and on the balcony is tiled, and there are two rugs from the floor mats a meter by half a meter, so people with little ones are careful, they will not seem to plop, and even if you don’t go in the summer you can chill your feet) beds 2 pcs. odnushki (in the agency they begged for a double room (kingsize in bourgeois)) there is no refrigerator (again, they asked the operator for a room with a refrigerator, because August in Tunisia is 30-40 degrees Celsius and we have a small 3.5 years old), plumbing, in principle, works, uncle fiddled with the shower/faucet switch for about five minutes and it worked. In short, to his interrogative -OK ? , they answered with a tired -OK. But my uncle is standing and stubbornly waiting for a tip, he also brought a bag and a suitcase, which no one asked him to do, but where can I get him a local cash, if we are only from the airport by nine in the evening, the currency has not been changed, and US and EU are less than ten no, but for such imposed help and 50 cents, it's a pity. In short, our helper was offended, said that they would now bring a third bed for the small one, slammed the door, and left something thumping under his breath in Tunisian, apparently something not very pleasant, because he didn’t risk it in English : -)
My wife stayed in the room, and we went to the reception with a small one to talk about the fridge and the kingsize bed. It was then that my uncle revealed to me the truth about the economy rooms, according to him. "But kingsize bad, but fredge, bat only for you may friend tumorrow fredge will bi !!! " Well, tomorrow, so tomorrow, ok.
I’ll tell you right away there are restaurants on the territory of 2, bars 3, to which restaurant you are assigned, I advise you to immediately check at the reception, no one told us this, in short, I had to go to the reception again to find out where to eat.
We arrived just in time for dinner, we came to our "RESTAURANT" (essentially a self-service canteen, the tablecloths were usually clean, the chairs were covered with polyethylene, large plates, wine glasses, cutlery during lunch and dinner, as a rule, are not enough and they are also you have to wait for them to be washed after the first use, and very often they wash SHELL, so be careful) In theory, on your first visit, you should be assigned to a certain table at which you have dinner, because breakfast and lunch are based on the "sit where you want" principle, in short, we began to catch the chief after 5 minutes of wandering and torturing the waiters, we found a local administrator, he seated us and said that today it was a temporary table and tomorrow we will seat you for sure !! ! OK, not a question. The question was never fully resolved, no, of course we were given a table, but every time it was occupied by locals or guests from CIVILIZED EUROPE, we, the pale-faced northern barbarions, were kicked all over the hall, this was repeated 3 or 4 times, this is in 10 days , and I’m talking exclusively about dinner, and don’t talk, here are goons, they would give a tip to the waiter and everything would be ok, they gave it, it didn’t help)
Regarding the hawka itself, we were at the peak of the season (mid-August), so in principle there was nothing to complain about, the assortment was not bad, fruits (watermelons, melons, peaches, apples, plums, grapes) were constantly available, poultry: chicken, turkey (fried, stewed, baked, there were even bourgeois fast food nuggets) constantly, beef (stewed beyond all praise), lamb, fish, vegetables (stewed, salads and cuts), main dishes are also varied, I recommend trying local main courses, these are mostly cereals cereals with meat and vegetables and various legumes, soups, as a rule, one vegetable soup is mashed and the second is thin, but spicy there is no such thing here, the peculiarities of national cuisine in hotel restaurants, so stock up on instant cereals, there is always milk, a microwave is present, you can brew without problems. ULTRA OF THIS BUSINESS, there is always a lot of it, this business (bakery products) is always fresh, VERY tasty and bursts in huge quantities, both locally and by everyone else. So people watching the figure get ready for a tough test : -)
There is also such a feature of the dish of the day in this restaurant, as a rule, in 100% of cases, french fries and something overcooked fish / poultry / meat on the grill and very often chicken nuggets, so queues line up for this as in the Mausoleum and the people are gaining REALLY MOUNTAINS THIS DISH OF THE DAY, I have never seen French fries and nuggets consumed in such quantities and by such a number of people, and you have to stand behind it for a really long time, although there are fried, boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes in the end, as well as chicken, turkey , beef, lamb (and all properly cooked, not in rancid oil or burned on the grill). By the way, local sausages are very popular.
As for drinking coffee, tea, water (if necessary, bottled in the room is taken at the bar, but only after 7 pm) no problem. As for "juices" throughout the territory, self-service machines (coffee machine and soft drinks) are poked from strategic places for coffee, there are no questions, but normal "juices" are issued only at the reception in the hotel lobby, in the rest there is an eternal problem, then they are not there, then they give out almost pure concentrate, although we must admit water and carbonated cocoa (cola, fanta, etc. ) gives out regularly.
By the way, I made a big mistake, I tried the A LA Cheif salad - this is a very interesting and economical dish to prepare - take what the guests did not gobble up in the previous feeding, chop finely and add mayonnaise to taste) The effect was gorgeous, very cleansing, both top and bottom, rinsed with a bang : -)
I won’t say about the drunk, I don’t drink)
In short, you won't die of hunger.
We then returned to our room to take a shower. THE WATER FROM THE TAP WAS REALLY SALT, i. e. not salty, but salty. There was no more strength to swear, we left this question in the morning.
In the morning, the water went just brackish, and we put up with it, especially since the guide from our tour operator said that it was like that in all of Sousse.
Since I'm talking about showers, I'll say about towels and cleaning, darkness and anarchy. The maid can clean the room throughout the day a little bit, i. e. from 9 to 17, he can first pick up all the towels in the morning, then bring them at 13-15, then come at 16 at 16 to wipe the floor, the first day we had it, until I went to the administrator, and did not ask to clean the room immediately and with morning, because the child sleeps during the day, corrected. By the way, when I figured out the cleaning, I reminded about the refrigerator, a phrase was absolutely identical to the first one) As for towels: 50 shades of gray is about them), there were no others (we asked the maid to clean every 2 days) and even the tip left to her did not save the situation with towels , and the foot towels that were left for us near the bathroom looked more like a fishing net than towels. By the way, about the refrigerator, when imported tourists or locals moved out / entered on our floor, I saw mini-refrigerators brought / taken away, but Russians are not as good FRIENDS for the local administration as other tourists. And after the third or fourth reminder, they resigned themselves to the absence of it in our room.
By the way, the cleaning itself consisted in smearing dirt on the glass surfaces of the furniture, taking out the trash can and wet sweeping the field, the maid did not even go to the balcony.
Shampoos and soaps appeared once, and towels were changed once for us at the moment when we were sleeping : -)
In short, all of the above is bullshit, because they go south for the sake of the sea, hot sand and sun. So this is the Plump Polar Chanterelle, otherwise it's a COMPLETE SCRIPTER.
The sun is the only point to which there are no questions at all.
Hot sand - it's a beach, it's HORRIBLE, it's a mixture of garbage, ashtray and Soviet flea market of the mid-90s. The hotel's beach is fenced, but it saves only from annoying sellers who do not hang around between the sun loungers, and the surf line itself is not fenced by anything, so when you try to enter the sea, you will be intercepted by local hucksters. If you don’t like the smell of exhaust gases, then you can stay on the beach until 10-00, maximum up to 10-30, then all kinds of entertainment crap appear, like jet skis, boats, parachutes with bananas, etc. , all this Arava rumbles and stinks, damn it I can smell exhaust fumes in the Gulf of Finland)
Each visit to the beach at 7-30 - 8-00 in the morning began with combing the sand within a radius of 2-3 meters from the sun loungers with an umbrella in order to search and remove: cigarette butts, disposable cups, peach pits / plums, straws from cocktails and other things rubbish, of which there was a HUGE amount in the sand. Yes, on the beach of Petropavlovka this shit is many times less. I don’t understand that we ourselves like to sunbathe in an ashtray afterwards. Damn, I myself smoke, well, Christmas trees, sticks, adults can’t tear off their ass and not bring them to the trash.
More SEA. It is stupidly dirty, the surf line is not cleaned at all, and there is even more garbage, especially after strong waves, candy wrappers, labels, empty bottles, thank God they are plastic, algae. I'm not saying that it's just overwhelmed, overwhelmed, but it's good and it spoils the mood. By the way, travel agencies are silent about this, if you look at the sea, then on the right side, 100 meters from the beach, a sewage / drainage ditch goes into the sea, which you can see if you leave the hotel and walk towards the Movenpick hotel, that's how we go to it and stumbled upon, there flows such a nice greenish slurry with the appropriate smell.
Further, as soon as it started to smell of gasoline, they went to the pool, there are 2 of them on the territory, one is more focused on adults, it is right with a bar in the water. The second one is more for toddlers with slides and a smooth descent, we splashed around in this, and there is also a paddling pool for very toddlers with a small slide, but as a rule, you can’t breathe there from moms, dads and grandmothers) By the way, sunbeds under umbrellas by the pool by half past seven in the morning like As a rule, everyone is busy, so when we went to breakfast around seven, the beginning of the eighth, we tried to take it.
The water in the pool in the first half of the day can even be said to be clean, but when we came after sleep (at 16-17 hours) it was sometimes a little unclear, but by the morning it was usually clean again, only once in the morning it was so cloudy that we didn't even dare to go there.
Animators, well done tried to entertain everyone, both old and young, rather unobtrusively, and more young, always after dinner there was some kind of program for small hours until 10 pm, then for older persons until 12 at night all sorts of shows / discos, so if you have a sensitive sleep mentally prepare for the thump of music under the windows until midnight. But our child is not yet interested, so I can’t say anything in more detail.
For older people, water aerobics, water polo tournaments were held in the pool, all kinds of darts, karaoke, ping pong, etc. were held on the beach and around the pool.
The territory is large, but there is nowhere to walk with a child, and the territory is rather neglected. In general, it seems that the entire hotel or hotels are very used. There is a playground, but it is in a terrible state, and the path that leads to it rests on the fence. Apparently it now belongs to another hotel))) It didn’t matter to us what kind of view opens from the window, but the view of the backyard scenery of a 4-star hotel is very depressing. And it’s not particularly interesting to go out of the territory with a small child, the exit from the hotel is on a rather busy highway, you won’t find anything interesting to the right, you will go the same to the left. I mean within walking distance.
One gets the impression that if you are a Russian-speaking tourist and as soon as you check in i. e. agree that the room suits you, all the people who manage the hotel do not care about you. Whether you ask for something or not, you will be promised mountains of gold, but in fact they wanted to SRAAAAAAT on you, and I repeat, we didn’t goof and left a tip to the staff, but in this particular hotel and specifically the attitude towards Russians is depressing. We were last year in Tunisia, in Hammamet in the tourist zone at the El Mouradi Beach hotel, it seems that we were in another country, there is such a strong difference. Although it is worth noting that ordinary Tunisians have an absolutely normal attitude towards Russians, and they adore children, moreover, of all nations and ages. So I warn especially caring parents that strangers can approach your child, talk to him, stroke, kiss, pat on the cheeks, so get ready to either very quickly evade child-loving natives, or put up) Last year, when something happened for the first time similar, my wife and I almost had a heart attack.
By the way, we traveled a lot in Hamamet by taxi, and everything was fine there, but for the first time in Sousse, the taxi driver offered to go not according to the meter, but according to a fixed rate, and it turned out to be a dinar and a half more expensive than according to the meter, but we were tired and it makes no sense to swear and they didn’t see another taxi, a trifle, but unpleasant, and the sediment remained.
Opposite the hotel there are two "largest" shopping centers - I will tell the residents of St. Petersburg in size about a quarter or even 1/5 from Mega Parnas, and at prices it does not differ from St. Petersburg, something even more expensive. I recommend rolling into Magasin General - this is a network of French supermarkets with reasonable prices, for the second year we buy olive oil and olive soap on an "industrial scale" there, as well as local spicy seasoning Harissa and Sardines in olive oil, and local halva mmmmmm and most importantly local coffee, to be honest, for me it’s better than all sorts of magnets and horseradish, by the way, this is one of the few shops where you can buy local strong alcohol, taxi fare from the hotel to the supermarket door is 3-3.5 dinars (about 65-70 rubles)
Summary, my wife and I did not like it and we will not return to Sousse, but most importantly, the small one was very pleased, because he did not encounter all the minor domestic problems.
And for us, the MOST IMPORTANT thing is that the little one is satisfied. All the best, I hope it helps someone : -)
