Traveled with a friend in mid-May 2010. We lived in Hammamet in Residence Mahmoud 3 *. The tour was taken last-minute and for the flight and accommodation for 7 days they paid only $ 325 (meals: breakfast-dinner). The hotel was small and cozy, almost homely, there were few people. Breakfasts are sad (bread and water in the literal sense), but dinners are excellent (on the menu and everything is very tasty). Good rooms (good furniture, bed linen), without any problems and surcharges were moved to a room with a balcony. There is no entertainment at the hotel, but this is more than compensated by a rich excursion.

Naturally, we went to the Sahara for 2 days (I definitely recommend visiting, although I myself am not a fan of excursions, but it is very impressive - a desert, an oasis, camels, souvenirs in Kairouan, a Roman amphitheater in El Jem, Berber dwellings, Star Wars scenery and an unchanged landscape all over the country - cacti and olive trees), a lot of impressions and not at all tiring. We also went on an excursion to Carthage for the whole day - not so exciting, but very good (the place where Carthage once was, the Roman baths, the Bardo Museum, the very beautiful town of Sidi Bou Said, I didn’t like only the Medina in Tunisia, because . merchants were too clingy). Both tours had very good guides.

A couple of minutes walk from our hotel to the sea. The beach is nice and not crowded. The sea is very clean, but cool (in May it was 18-19 degrees). On the beach, sunbeds are free, straw mushrooms from the sun. I really liked that along the entire coast there are no barriers (such as piers or private beaches), except for the port. We somehow very pleasantly walked from the amusement park to our hotel (we walked slowly along the water's edge, since it was cloudy and not hot all day).

I liked the local amusement park - you pay only for the entrance (then it was about 80 UAH with our money) and ride yourself even to the point of stupefaction, and no one waits until the swing is completely full - 1 person came, so they will ride alone. There are no particularly impressive (extreme) attractions, but there is still something to ride and have fun (I especially liked the rides on the water). In general, the territory of the park is very beautiful and well-groomed.

We were at the local mall. Many well-known sports and youth brands are made in Tunisia, so you can stock up on T-shirts, shorts, sweaters, etc. at normal prices. excellent quality.

We were also in the local medina - to be honest, we didn’t buy anything (according to the reviews, it’s better to buy all the souvenirs in Kairouan, it will come out cheaper). We bought a couple of liters of olive oil in a local store (it is inexpensive and 100% natural in the country of origin).

We were not at the local disco - the girls from the hotel said that they didn’t really like it (they pester).

The people in Tunisia are friendly, but we should not forget that this is still a Muslim country. I do not recommend wearing very revealing things (super decollete and mini), especially blondes everywhere will hear comments addressed to them (but not vulgarity). Merchants in medinas are the most annoying - they are too persistent (they grab by the hands, drag them to their shop), but this was perhaps the only unpleasant moment.

In general, I would recommend a holiday in Hammamet for couples or as a romantic trip. My friend and I were fine, calm, but a bit boring. Fans of a more fun holiday will probably be more interesting in Sousse. Nevertheless, I very often remember with great warmth and love this vacation, this vacation, this country with endless olive orchards, our cute hotel with a funny and important head waiter in the restaurant, dawn in the desert and incredibly delicious dates and oranges...
