It has been almost a month since my husband and I returned from our trip. We rested from September 15 to 27 in Turkey, Alanya region, UTOPIA WORLD 5 * hotel, tour operator Coral Travel.
I spent a lot of time on the forums, looking for a hotel that was suitable for the price and service. And when the choice seemed to have already been made, a friend from the Utopia hotel arrived, praised him, I found him on the Internet and almost immediately decided to go there. Let's just say that for 2 months I read all sorts of reviews, and the closer the departure date was, the worse the reviews became.
And here we are in Yekaterinburg, from where we flew to Antalya, the air carrier is Ural Airlines, except for feeding (there, disgustingly), there are no complaints. 5 hours flight and we landed at the Antalya airport. Antalya met with heat, passport control and luggage were passed quickly. The host party - Odeon, was met, directed to the bus, and after about 40 minutes, having collected everyone, we left. The road to the hotel took more than 3 hours, but time really flies quickly, it is very interesting to look around, especially at the hotels where we brought tourists.

And then our Utopia appeared on the mountain in the distance, to which our guide drew our attention. The hotel looked very majestic.
Landing near the hotel, they could not take their eyes off the picturesque view that opened from a height of the city, the coast and its majesty the sea. The views in the hotel area are really amazing, lots of places for beautiful photos and just for enjoyment.
Reception. Two girls (they don't speak Russian, but for me they pretend), and one young man (whom we dubbed "nose"). A company of 8 people with children and my husband and I settled with us. While we were looking for a present from Russia in tightly packed suitcases (in the form of a bottle of "Putinka" and a box of chocolates), the other comrades had already begun to argue over the numbers. As a result, we approached later, modestly handed the package, we were offered (like everyone else) to spend the first night in the main building, and in the morning to come up so that we could be moved to a “very good room” in a bungalow (for which we paid). We decided to find out in the evening where the best bungalows are, so that tomorrow morning we would not get into a mess. And that company suffered a phenomenon called “overbooking”, some of them eventually went to rest in a completely different hotel, and much worse than ours, but we found out about it the next day. We settled in pretty quickly. I will also say that all the receptionists are more than unfriendly. Once again, I don't want to go near them.
NUMBERS. So, our first day in Utopia began in the evening, in a standard room in the main building. The main difference between the rooms is still in the distance from the service, that is, living in the main building, you will overpay about 200-300 dollars per room, but in principle everything will be close to you, except for the sea and the water park. The room is not bad, we had one large bed, one smaller one, the furniture was normal, the interior was modern, the room had a huge balcony overlooking banana plantations and the sea, a TV with a couple of Russian channels, the air conditioner did not work, there was a shower in the bathroom, in the closet electronic safe (free of charge), minibar in the form of water, forfeits, cola (also included). Drying clothes on the balcony, convenient…

If you don’t want to overpay for a room (as we decided), take a bungalow, but be prepared that only a small number of villas are closer to all places. For example, we later lived (by the way, we were not deceived and were given a very good bungalow, the room was on its upper level, a gorgeous view of the sea and the city opened from the balcony, and then we found out that people paid extra $ 20 for such rooms) in bungalow next to the lagoon bar, cottage number 23, number 2301. Villas 20.21, 22 were even better and closer, mostly foreigners lived there, and those who put money in their passports. The bungalow room was the same, only instead of an extra bed (for a person of normal height), there was a sofa, still more suitable for a child. Everything else is the same, plus the villas have a kettle, mugs and put coffee, tea, cream, sugar... Cleaning was normal, you can see the maid was lucky, many complained that without a tip they only fold towels and make the bed, without even removing and not washing the mugs. Tipping was not left. Towels were changed every time they were thrown on the floor. When leaving, I left her 5 bucks, because there were no complaints.
We met people who spent the first three days in a suite, they say, a jacuzzi, a minibar full of everything, 2 rooms. When moving to a bungalow, they were offered to stay... for 900 euros for 4 days, they refused...
Numbers for 5.
The territory immediately struck us with its size, and as often happens, we felt uncomfortable, not knowing where, what is located, even the issued map did not bring clarity. If you don’t look too closely, the territory seems well-groomed, clean, there are many pines, various plants, chickens, roosters and cats are everywhere. By the way, these very roosters simply do not let you sleep. From 5 in the morning they start yelling like crazy, it’s just unrealistic to sleep, I spent a lot of nerves on them... Of course, there are none in the main building... Mini buses are worn throughout the territory, they carry linen, towels, garbage, they have a decent speed. Territories - 5 plus.
A little about the hotel itself.

The hotel consists of one main 5-storey building, and 2 lines of bungalows around it, near the main building the main pool, where morning and afternoon animation took place, also on the minus 1 floor - the main restaurant, a la carte restaurants, on the minus 2 floor - the Laguna bar ( works in my opinion until 24-00), a spa center, a gym, a game room (billiards, backgammon, chess and other games), a Turkish bath, a sauna with a jacuzzi and an indoor pool. Also on this level is the most beautiful pool in my opinion, in any case, there were always photo shoots, with a waterfall. On the 0 floor there is a reception, a lobby bar (open around the clock, poured until 5 am), shops, guest relay, meeting points with guides. The hotel also has its own water park, located in a picturesque place in the shade of pine trees, where there is a lazy river (such as rafting for children), slides for adults, slides for children, a bar with drinks and snacks. We were in the water park only once, and then to see, but we had already heard that many slides had joints, so my husband swept from two, lay a little on sunbeds and hammocks, took pictures at the next artificial waterfall and left, we are not there anymore appeared. The slides work on schedule, I don’t know, maybe the kids liked it there, but we didn’t like it, or rather, it wasn’t interesting. Yes, and then climbing from it on countless steps - it's just tin.
By the way, about the steps, I read a lot of reviews and complaints about these steps, I imagined it, but it’s still not like that, there are really an unrealistically many of them !!!! ! And they are really hard to walk on. The legs hurt very much for the first 3 days, then they got used to it, but I cursed them all 12 days. My husband sometimes dragged me along them, or shoved me from behind...  Although there is undoubtedly a plus, I didn’t get better, but I could...
The water in the pools was very cold, for some reason they did not warm up. I swam in them no more than 2 times, in general, I saw few people in the water.
Therefore, I will not be surprised that there really was cold water in the children's water park.

The food in the main restaurant is different. For dinner every day something was cooked on the street, but almost always the same thing, some kind of donuts, grilled vegetables or turkey, once a week they have a Turkish night there, then they dress up, decorate the tables very beautifully, then the range of dishes increases noticeably , rolls (terrible), roast sheep. And so the food is quite normal, in any case, I was not hungry, and my husband too. Side dishes every time 2-3 types, consistently potatoes, spaghetti, rice, vegetables in batter, steamed vegetables, meat - veal, turkey, chicken, lamb every day, also fish (not a fountain), once found a seafood salad ( shrimp, fish), 2 types of puree soups, salads were taken mainly from fresh vegetables, since it is clear that the rest interfered with what was left (once in one I saw a whole roll !! !  ), the sweet table is traditionally very good, everything is very tasty, the fruits pleased - there were melons, grapes, apples, nectarines, pears, plums, even watermelon was given. I read a fresh review - and I realized how it is, we didn’t know that in other hotels they give pomegranate and figs !! ! It’s probably good that we didn’t discuss food with people from other hotels, otherwise we would be upset because of the lack of fruit...
I didn’t eat bread, but my husband didn’t complain about staleness.

In general, refuting the reviews in which they wrote that there was no meat - I will say that there was a lot of meat, it did not end, veal, lamb, tongue - they were always just delicious! At least a couple of dishes could be eaten every time, asking for supplements, and the rest was quite up to par. The waiters in the main restaurant are efficient, always on request brought drinks to the table, bottled water. True, they had to ask for toothpicks, because for some reason they were not on the table.
From the food, the breakfasts were not particularly pleased, there was almost nothing, they fried eggs, the cereals were strange, the sausage was understandably soy, well, all sorts of rolls, coffee from the machine, freshly squeezed juices for a fee. But we only had 2 breakfasts.
Another special thanks to Utopia for an early breakfast (we went on an excursion, the departure was at 6 am), we came to the restaurant - there was simply NOTHING to eat !! ! Dried bread and yesterday's soy sausage, we left just HUNGRY, from all the other hotels they sat down with boxes, but we were simply offended! If you go on an early excursion - stock up on some food in the evening, or buns, my advice to you !!!
The children's menu is probably very weak. But we don't know without kids.
From food, there were also two fast food restaurants on the territory - in the water park and on the beach. There is a standard set - french fries, some cutlets, some fruits, vegetables, spaghetti with sauce, in the water park - pizza. Have a bite, but no more... Lovers of normal food - for lunch only in the main restaurant, so as not to get upset!

From 12 noon, Turkish cakes were baked near the main pool - gozleme, with different fillings, very tasty, a queue lined up behind them (at 12 noon), after lunch there was no queue. They also gave ice cream after dinner, also nothing, everyone dragged 5 pieces at a time, I took it once, so I don’t know how long it lasted.
I will immediately focus on drinks in bars so as not to return to the topic of food. Drinks included local, imported for a fee, as stated on the hotel website. From drinks there is everything, but the question is whether it is possible to drink it. Local cocktails interfere, some kind of red, blue, it’s impossible to drink from everything that is, local vodka, raki, gin and tonic, such as mojito (rare muck), standard rum-cola, whiskey-cola, there is cognac, like these drinks nothing else, some kind of terrible Coco Beach cocktail, martinis, draft beer, draft wine, and beer and wine are all on tap, no bottles. My husband drank rum-cola, whiskey-cola in the evenings, I had a martini, beer, a glass of rose wine at lunch or dinner (I liked it the most). People drank from morning to evening, met frankly drunk, I don’t know what they drank there, but it’s simply impossible to get drunk from their beer or martinis.
Once, on occasion of the holiday, they served local champagne in the Laguna bar - excellent !!!
In general, all our gatherings took place in Laguna, foreigners mostly sat in the lobby, a girl played the piano there, the decor was appropriate, leather sofas, chandeliers, aquariums, in general, very beautiful. The lobby bar was also on the veranda, there is very beautiful wicker furniture, with pillows, it's great to sit, look at the sea, some ordered a hookah. In Laguna, you need to take seats in advance, go immediately after dinner, and after the evening show in the amphitheater, you can’t sit there at all. And this is considering that we were at the end of the season.
There is a disco on the territory. Disco starts at 23-00. The music is put on as usual, you can dance, there were a lot of young people in our race, there were always visitors, only there were problems with drinks, how can you not come, only local beer or vodka. Save…

The animators are great, I don’t know about anyone, but we liked it, although we only watched them. In the morning, competitions by the pool, aerobics, exercises, club dance. People actively participated. After lunch, we went to the beach, which we did not see there. In the evening at 09 o'clock there was a mini-disco in the amphitheater, then at 9-30 - a show for adults, then dancing, then like a comedy club, sometimes it was quite fun. Then they invited everyone to a disco in Alanya, we didn’t go, if we wanted, the local disco was very…
The hotel guide - Elnur, is something, just a tryndichka, chattered at the meeting, but the point is the same - buy excursions, who did not buy - interest was lost. Excursions specifically vparivayut. There are many agencies in the city where you can buy them at lower prices. I always take excursions from hotel guides, to hell with it with an overpayment.
This time we did not take historical excursions, we took rafting and a pirate night (disco on a yacht).
That's just the rafting we went at 6 am hungry. Coral, of course, well done, the buses are comfortable, the drivers are reliable, the guides are friendly. But going on excursions from Utopia is something. At first, you will collect other tourists from hotels for 2.5 hours, since your hotel is the last one. That is, leaving at 6 am, getting up at 5, respectively, you actually start your journey on an excursion at 9 am. Involuntarily, you will envy those who landed in the last hotels. Yes, and the path itself in the mountains is difficult, the children were ill, motion sickness, I myself was very tired. The rafting itself was of course super, this is the so-called first level of difficulty, that is, you can go calmly with children. The sensations are still sharp, the instructors are great, they have fun, they make fun, only the water in the river is just icy, it takes 2 seconds to get sick... In some areas they film you, take pictures, then everyone watches this video, they offer to buy for 45 dollars, we bargained for 30 dollars, one photo costs 6 bucks - they did not bargain. You don’t feel sorry for the money because you can’t take your photos and video cameras there, but it will be a memory. We were also the last to be brought back. We arrived late, around 6 pm, so plan right away that it will take the whole day. IT IS BETTER TO BOOK A INDIVIDUAL TRANSFER!

The second excursion is a pirate night. NOTHING GOOD! It’s just that my husband loves to have fun, discos and stuff, this tour was taken for him. In general, again, the journey to the port (which would take no more than 20 minutes) takes 2 hours. And here is the port, a 3-deck yacht, about 200 of us gathered. Drinks are included on the yacht. The yacht floats out to sea, it rocked terribly, it was impossible to walk, in the toilets for some reason the drain tanks did not work, the stink, cheap swill in plastic cups. "Best DJ" on the coast plays Vova Plague, Black Eyes and stuff, not even remixes. . .
All this lasts 3.5 hours, then they pour foam on you, everyone is covered in foam, everyone is skating, already barefoot, undressed... Yes... Then a stop for swimming in the sea and home. Honestly, I breathed a sigh of relief when I got on the bus, but some tourists from another hotel (where they don’t see “all inclusive”) got so drunk that they shouted all sorts of nonsense all the way, hanged themselves on the guide... People had fun.
Probably, from the uncovered there was still a story about the beach. The first time, out of ignorance, we ran into it on foot, very tiring, especially in the heat, and far away, but we knew about it, of course. The beach was a disappointment. There are no free sunbeds from 10-11 in the morning, that is, if you want to sunbathe and swim in the morning, then take the sunbeds from 8 in the morning, which is unrealistic, you don’t want to go on foot, and the minibus starts walking in my opinion from 9 am. We went to the pools in the morning, then had lunch, and went to the beach, then it was free, all the people pulled themselves up by three o'clock. The entry into the sea is really terrible, huge boulders, for those who cannot swim, this is a sentence. The sea was restless, often brought algae. It remained for me to sit on the shore and the waves washed over me. People were swimming. Ride on the waves. Someone dived from the pier (there are 2 piers). The beach is not very clean, but thanks to the tourists, I saw a beach boy a couple of times to be cleaned. There is an announcement in the beach bar (moreover, only in Russian), such as do not take out plates of food to the beach, please. But we still dragged, sat on sunbeds with full plates. It is not clear what is good to sit in the heat, eat on your knees when there is a beach restaurant, a canopy, tables, chairs, a shade... There is nothing to be surprised at, where does the garbage come from. There were enough ashtrays and buckets on the beach.
On the 3rd day we found this most wonderful wild beach, just 150 meters from ours to the left along the coast. It is not clear why, but there was never algae, crystal clear water, no stones, just wonderful water, gentle... I was ready not to climb out of the sea. So they walked, lay on towels, there were no people, only occasionally people wandered in to take pictures, the views there are beautiful, rocks, greenery, lizards. Just space for photo shoots. So I’m still happy with the sea, although I spent all the time not lying on sunbeds and not looking at the various bodies of tourists.

By the way, the minibus always brought us directly to the beach, it was just great, because we did not experience any problems with the road to the beach. 5 minutes with a breeze - and you are on the beach, another 5 minutes - and you are near the entrance to the hotel. We only took the elevator a couple of times. Air conditioning there is not very good, but 1.5 minutes can be tolerated.
We also went to Alanya for shopping. Once (not finding our guide), we generally left for the skin from Aneks (there is a guide there as a guide, I really liked it). We were in the Metro store, a small store, the choice is not huge, but we found what we needed. Very profitable and well bought. Then we went by minibus (walks from the entrance to Utopia), it's okay, you sit down (travel 2 lira is the most profitable or 2 bucks per person) and you go to the final one. There is a big stop, called Alanya center, there is a bazaar and all the shops. The back is also on it, they almost always stand there, the main thing is that the Utopia World sign is there. They go late, at 11 pm they were still there.
We were also in the Alanyum shopping center, there are fixed prices, everything is like in our Mega shopping centers.
At the end of our vacation, we were apparently incredibly lucky - we arrived at the Comedy Club festival (Elvis and Nezlobin), the KVN teams - Fedor Dvinyatin, the county town, a couple of manufacturers - only Prokhor Chaliapin, Alexei Serebryakov remembered. These comrades lived with us, performed in the evenings, entertained the audience, and also lay on the beach during the day. So we rested with the stars.
Summing up - and despite all of the above, I want to give the hotel 5 with a slight minus. I really liked the rest, I still remember it, and I even dream of the hotel. There was something subtly stuck, I don't understand what. Somehow, all the little things were forgotten, and we didn’t really get hung up on them there either. I would probably still go there someday and recommend it to my friends, but physically strong, and preferably childless (all the same, these damn steps !!! ).
Thank you Utopia for a wonderful vacation!! !
