When entering the country, it is important to know the rules of staying in Turkey so as not to be deceived by unscrupulous representatives of tour operators.
IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND:
1. The guide at the hotel does not have the right to oblige you to attend an information meeting on the first day of your stay. This meeting is optional. Putting a mark on vouchers, registering your flight, without which you supposedly will not be able to fly in the future - all this is misinformation. Guides invite you to a meeting to, among other things, offer you excursions, usually 2-5 times more expensive than in a local travel agency. The rise in price is due to the fact that the tour operator is not a direct service provider, and he has to include the costs of mediation in the cost.
2. If you didn't attend this meeting, you don't risk anything. The guide at the hotel is your guide and assistant, his task is to inform you on all the questions that you have during the whole holiday, to ensure the departure from the country according to the tickets, to help in case of any problems. If you have to deal with an unfriendly attitude towards you, blackmail, ignoring - you have the right to file a complaint on this issue.
3. Some representatives of tour operators do not value their reputation and strive to make money on the sale of excursions, regardless of the needs of buyers. It happens that they intimidate, tell "horror stories" that do not correspond to reality. For example, that buying excursions from local travel agencies is unreliable and dangerous. It happens that when you refuse to buy excursions from them, they become unfriendly and negligent towards you, stop saying hello, etc. The purpose of such manipulations is to persuade you to buy from them the same excursions as everyone else, but more expensive. If you have to deal with an unfriendly attitude towards you, blackmail, ignoring, you have the right to file a complaint on this issue.
4. INSURANCE is paid by you even before arrival in the country along with tickets and is valid throughout the country, regardless of where and on what excursions you have a rest. Therefore, you are insured in any case, regardless of where you buy excursions: from a tour operator or at a local travel agency. When buying extreme types of excursions, insurance is automatically included in the ticket price by the organizing company.
I would like to emphasize once again: this is a delusion that “there is no insurance on the street and no one is responsible for anything. ” There is only one insurance policy, it is issued to you before departure and is valid throughout the entire trip. Separately, no one insures you in Turkey and all reimbursements go only under the insurance policy that the tour operator issued to you.
5. VOUCHERS are not a document. These are just information sheets that the tour operators themselves print out and scare that if you walk without this paper, you may be arrested. This is also a delusion, firstly, tourists are not stopped and do not ask for documents, and secondly, in the event of any misunderstandings (obvious offenses), only a passport with a stamp of legal border crossing is a document. The purpose of this comedy is to convince tourists of the exceptional need to attend an information meeting so that tourists do not have time to look around and see the difference in prices for excursions from a tour operator and local agencies, and at the same time, at the meeting itself, scare them away from local agencies and sell excursions at exorbitant prices.
