Alanya for people with limited mobility, the elderly, the disabled and just lazy
Many of the people that I listed in the title of the story either refuse to travel abroad at all (in particular, to Turkey), or take a ticket to a hotel with a fairly large territory, where there are conditions for the disabled. And they are in this territory-reservation for the entire vacation period.
But in vain! I haven't been to Turkey for 12-14 years. Over the years, the country has changed dramatically. For example, Alanya has turned into an imposing, beautiful and very correct Mediterranean city, bypassing similar cities in Greece, Spain, Portugal and even Italy in many respects. I will write a separate post about these changes, and now I will continue the topic of the accessible environment.
If you live in Alanya itself, feel free to leave your hotel and go for a walk. All sidewalks in the coastal zone have comfortable gentle ramps for wheelchair users. And this is for many kilometers of the promenade.
If you are a wheelchair user and came to Turkey with relatives, then it makes sense to rent such a three-wheeled, three-seater, electric rider for walking. They give it to everyone who knows how to drive a bicycle.
In the photo, my wife is carrying my friend. He is not disabled, but has limited mobility due to some fatigue from the rest.
You can drive on public roads and on pedestrian zones. The maximum speed is 27 km/h.
If you feel bad, but still walk, then you will be pleased with the abundance of benches where you can relax.

If you are tired of walking along the promenade or there is too much sun, then you can walk along a very pleasant pedestrian street.
Here, too, there are plenty of shops of various types.
During the years that I have not been here, the Alanya fortress has changed in the most worthy way. 15 years ago, visiting this attraction by a disabled person was out of the question. Well, if only like this:
My friend and I then made such a swing out of a cut handle from a shovel and two belts, and they dragged our spinal friend around the fortress, who was sitting on this crossbar, hugging us with his arms. Doubtful, I'll tell you, pleasure: +35 and ancient rocky paths along which it was hard to walk not only in a wheelchair, but with healthy legs.

There are now convenient ramps above the rocky paths. Even backlit.
It is convenient to walk, and wheelchair users can move around here even without assistance. Elevation differences and slopes are quite small.
Open elevators have been installed where necessary.
And you, like everyone else, will enjoy gorgeous views without any problems.

If there are more than two of you, then it is more profitable to get to the fortress by taxi. If less, then on the funicular. There is a free bus from the upper station to the entrance to the fortress.

You don't mind either, but for some reason you don't want to or can't pedal. Here's a great option! Small electric scooter. Here is the simplest and cheapest one:

And you accompany your family without any effort. You can also ride on pedestrian zones.
If you are visually impaired, then almost all sidewalks have clue paths for you.
Traffic lights are equipped with squeakers, but you still need to cross the road with outside help. The culture of driving among the Turks, unfortunately, is at the level of the Stone Age. Say, in 2 weeks I was let through at the crossing only three times. A police motorcycle, a minibus with Finnish plates and a Skoda with Moscow plates.
So don't be afraid of anything and go to Alanya, and when you arrive, run away from the drunken boredom of hotel areas. Discover a wonderful city.
