We rested in Mahmutlar, in Alanya from 01.09 to 08.09, 2012. It was the first time in Turkey.
I really liked the nature of Alanya, beautiful landscapes, warm sea, great weather.
We stayed at the Sugar Beach Hotel (4 *). Speaking about the hotel, it doesn’t pull far for 4 stars, the territory is really small, the food is monotonous, from hot chicken, chicken and chicken, and soy chicken))), salads are not tasty, only watermelons (delicious), apples and oranges from fruits , sometimes they gave grapes, which were not enough for everyone (previous reviews are all true about food). Often there was a queue for the dining room (or rather the so-called "restaurant").
The pool on site is small, the slide worked by the hour (a couple of hours before lunch and a couple after).
Plus the hotel - the beach is close, across the road. There were always enough sunbeds on the beach for everyone, awnings and umbrellas too, mattresses were free, but not always enough for everyone.

Regarding the service and staff, there were no problems, everyone is kind, smiling, saying hello. They cleaned the rooms every day, it’s a sin to complain about it.
For reinsurance, it is better to take a safe, as our neighbors lost money.
The big minus of the hotel (besides food) is the lack of air conditioning in the lobby and in the dining room, it was very hot and stuffy. But the air conditioning worked well in the rooms, which is a plus.
Regarding the excursions we visited: firstly, we didn’t take excursions from guides (since they sell the same excursions, but twice as expensive), we bought excursions from a wonderful man, Mustafa, who speaks excellent Russian (I’m talking about him myself I read it from the Internet in someone's reviews, thanks to people for the advice, as they really were satisfied not only from excursions, but also from meeting Mustafa). It is located 5-10 meters from the Sugar Beach Hotel on the right side (if you leave the hotel and turn your back to it). During the days of rest, Mustafa not only sent us on exciting and excellent excursions, but also was our named guide, information desk (we ran to him for every question about Turkey, Alanya, how to go, where and what to buy) and even a friend. (Mustafa huge hello and BIG THANK YOU!!! ). When we are in Turkey next time, excursions ONLY AT MUSTAFA! (P. S. all excursions are insured, there is no point in overpaying)
Of the excursions visited the Jeep Safari and Yacht tour by sea. I really liked the nature on the Jeep Safari: picturesque mountains, clean air, cliffs, descents, everything is breathtaking. And a delicious lunch in a cafe located on a mountain river. In addition, during the tour we visited a Turkish mosque, a Turkish house and walked around a real mountain village. I liked the tour very much, it was fun, exciting, interesting and relaxing.
On the Yacht Tour I liked swimming in crystal clear waters in the open sea, an overview of the entire beautiful coast of Alanya, a cheerful board crew and a captain who entertained me throughout the trip.
Thanks again Mustafa for the tour advice!

In general, Turkey, Alanya, I liked the excursions and the sea))), the hotel is not very good.
