RAFTING. Cruel and merciless Turkish rafting.
Cruel and merciless Turkish rafting.
Written not to advertise tours from "hotel guides". This could happen with any tour operator, no matter where you bought the rafting tour. Any tour operator selling rafting tours pays for your tour to another tour operator who is directly located in the canyon and (as we think) has the necessary license for this type of activity (trained people, doctors, etc. ).
It was in June 2018. It was the 4th time on this rafting. The tour was bought in Avsavlar, from a “street travel agency”. It cost $55. (3*15+1*10) it was said that for the boat (2-seat kayak for 2 adults) pay extra on the spot. I’ll say right away that it’s ZVIZDYOSH, kayaks and rafts cost the same, it’s just a scam. Yes, still, do not believe the "hotel guides" about additional insurance on excursions, we have one insurance, and if it does not take into account "sports risks", then on rafting it (insurance) is up to one place. That is, if something happens to you on rafting, it’s only your problems, insurance does not work, and what Turkish insurance company in its right mind will insure a “yabanci” (foreigner) on an excursion.
We started, as always, passed two thresholds and on the raft, in which there was a spouse and a child, an emergency happened. One woman (weighing 130 kg - who let her go rafting? ) broke her lower leg. The Turks include a fool, they say not a fracture, a dislocation, let's get up. No medical help, no first aid kit, no painkillers. We moored to the shore, from which you can evacuate your aunt, let's take her out of the raft. I tell them, let's at least come up with a splint on the leg - to hell with it, in short, they somehow built a splint, "farting ferry", in their arms, five of them dragged her to the road, there they put her in a bus with assurances that an ambulance was waiting below. For the beauty of the picture, all of the above takes place within an hour and a half under heavy rain. Well, there is nothing to do, the aunt was shipped, they themselves went to their places and the rafting continues. We arrive at the finish line in two hours, where we are supposed to be warmed up, fed and “breeded” for an hour and a half to buy photos and videos of photoshop garbage about our heroic rafting (by the way, it rained all day, but the pictures are clear and sunny), and " oil painting ”- my aunt is sitting in our bus and dutifully with an analgin tablet in her teeth, which she begged from the driver, is waiting for us, her group. To our dumb question - what kind of artist is she not in the hospital, we received an answer that the Turks told her that Recep (president) came to the region and all roads were blocked, and the ambulance would not arrive. I explained to the host in two or three mats that if the aunt "moves the horses", then there will not only be them, but subsequently the river too. Obviously, having understood or comprehended the situation, they quickly sent our bus on the way back, without making a profit from the sale of photos and videos of garbage. The aunt was doing well, and so was her granddaughter. I hope everything went well with them. If you know about her future fate, let me know, I will be grateful.
The operator company on the river was called "NEMO TOUR".
Take care of yourself.
