Journey (addendum 1) of a grumpy bore to Turkey
Journey (Supplement 1) of a bore - a grumbler to Turkey
It was not possible to combine all my observations together and reflect at the same time, and here are the additions.
On the relationship of the sexes
Turkey proclaims itself a secular country. Outwardly, this is true, at least in the resort regions.
Young Turks and Turkish women in manners (not to be confused with hooliganism) and clothes almost do not differ from our tourists. There are very few working Turkish women.
The idea of supporting the family budget, becoming financially independent from her husband and raising her voice to him is out of circulation. Or not possible, or not accepted. A typical situation that arose at a disco, when in our company of Russians at the table somehow turned out to be two young Turkish women and not some quiet ones.
I invited one of them to dance with me. The Turkish woman pointed her head to the side and said: "Khuzhya (the owner)", and the Russian neighbors whispered: "Husband, husband ... ". I turned my head and saw a young man sitting on the other side of the table, silently drinking beer. The brain tensed in reflection: the presence of a husband means the impossibility of a proposal, or do you need to ask permission? I didn't tense up for long. I decided to abandon my intention. The East is a delicate matter ...Think of a Turkish woman? ...There are plenty of their own girls and without "worse".
About patriotism
Of course, questions about patriotism are not of interest to everyone and should not prevail in conversations about holidays in Turkey. But patriotism should be mentioned because it catches the eye. External manifestations - the presence of a large number of posted state flags of Turkey. In Kirishi, the flag is even on the top of an uninhabited mountain and is visible from everywhere.
At the Diamond Garden Hotel, I witnessed an impressive spectacle when in the evening at twilight at the disco the chefs staged a procession with torches to the accompaniment of the Turkish march, followed by an ascent to the stage. And the procession was led by a cook with the flag of Turkey, followed by two Turks carrying a huge cake, on which, again, the image of the same flag was made with cream.
I would like to believe that the patriotism of the Turks is true, because the standard of living is low. For example, beef meat with our money is about 600 rubles per kg, and gasoline 95-90 rubles per liter.
Of course, Turkey is a united nation. Everyone knows that the history of Turkey is the history of wars of conquest. The flag is red, revolutionary. The flag has a white star and a crescent. The flag was approved by Mustafa Kemal Atatü rk, who, during his reign (1923 - 1938), made truly revolutionary changes. And the authority of this man is indisputable.
I think patriotism is such an important part of the Turkish mentality and that's it.
And what about patriotism in Russia? And who is our indisputable authority?
