Most recent review (period July 31-August 7) Just returned with my wife. . .
They had not been in Turkey before. Only in the Crimea.
In a travel agency a few days before departure (July 31) there were free places in one of the hotels in Marmaris and in Bodrum (Akasia Club). We chose Akasia after reading all the reviews that can be found on the Internet.
In order not to repeat the general points of previous reviews, I will say this: for the first time, we are very satisfied! There is no desire to travel to Crimea anymore.
Now more details and tips for beginners-: ):
1. Flight
I do not agree with those who criticize the airline operating on the Moscow-Bodrum-Moscow flight. I don't know, because there is only one. We flew on a Boeing 757 perfectly, albeit late at night. And back, too. The impression is as if you are driving a car along a good highway-: )

We strayed before landing, of course, in Domodedovo, but fortunately we are not the only ones. Tip: take care of the envelope with the voucher and tickets, which will be given to you at the airport by the representative of your tour operator.
At the Bodrum airport (by the way, for a visa (they will stick a stamp in the passport) to Turkey, I advise you to prepare 40 dollars for two without change! ) The queue is long, but comfortable buses, near which the guides meet, wait for everyone. They sat down calmly and without fuss.
2. Settlement.
We arrived at our hotel in an hour and a half, while other tourists were taken to closer ones. Time - 4 am. I advise everyone not to be indignant in vain: they will not give you a number right away. Check-in everywhere is only from two o'clock! But, as soon as special silicone bracelets with the inscription of the hotel are politely put on your wrists, you become like a local, you can safely walk around the territory, drink coffee from vending machines, or, what is left stronger, smoke , admire the scenery. Beautiful! The sea is blue, the plants are exotic, the territory is well-groomed. . . Which is what we did before breakfast, putting our luggage near the reception desk, and someone was dozing in the lobby on the sofas.
3. Breakfast
Not particularly impressed. Eggs, scrambled eggs, vegetables, buns, last but not least, a variety of disposable jars with jams, butter, honey, chocolate paste. Sometimes fried right there with fried eggs. Coffee, tea, two types of juices (such as diluted Yuppies) Those who love soy sausage and sausages also have it.
4. Location
To kill time before resettlement, we went to inspect the territory, many changed into beach suits.

The hotel consists of 125 rooms, but as if divided into two parts: 99 in the main building and 26 in the so-called Anex. The latter is connected by a path along a hillock of the coast (100 meters). The main building has only a pier, from which you can only jump. Get out on special ladders. There are ladders from the shore too. But for all the time, I saw very few people swimming there, only sunbathing on sunbeds. And in Anex, the beach is very close; coarse sand, the descent is not very gentle, but acceptable, there are 60 umbrellas, each with two sunbeds. Nearby are the umbrellas of another Armonia hotel (five-star, and, by the way, the beach and the sea are the same : ), differing in color. You can’t lie down under the umbrellas of other hotels, even if there is no one there (I unknowingly settled down, a young Turkish man quickly approached me and politely asked to be released)
We went to "wet our feet" The water is cold, we were warned that the Aegean Sea is colder than the Black and Mediterranean, because of the numerous cold undercurrents. But the crystal clear water and its blue are striking.
By 11 o’clock there was a rumor like “they are already settling in. ” Yes, as it turned out, the hotel manager, Mamed, the only one, by the way, who understands Russian, began to give out the keys, but by the time we got to the reception, the rooms remained only in Aneks. Many and I began to resent and make noise: everyone wanted rooms in the main building. But Mamed only politely denied the existence of such. Of course, there were rooms and the most persistent "Russo-tourists" waited for them. But I got tired, and we finally got the key, agreeing to Anex, which we later did not regret at all.
5. Number.
To the beach 20 meters. 1st floor. Cozy room. Spacious double bed. Towels two for baths and two for hands. Towels are not allowed to be taken out of the room! Take your beachwear. Refrigerator type "Morozko", in which two bottles of water. (We never drank it. ) On the wall, a small TV hangs on a rack at the top. 17 channels (Russian - "First" at number 16), mostly Turkish, there is German, French, Italian. Cable. Above the door is air conditioning. Check if it works right now. If not, tell Mamed. Workers will come and do it. With air conditioning, it's even cool at night. Bedside tables (in one needle with five skeins of colored threads) Shower, hot, cold water toilet (washes well-: ), two rolls of normal t / paper, two pieces of soap, two small ones, with a matchbox, shampoo, washbasin, two cups for water. There is a tile on the floor. In general, for those who are not very sophisticated like us, quite normal conditions! (After the Crimean private chicken coops) In the evening I apologized to Mamed for my emotions.
6. Dinners

Compared to breakfast, I was impressed: a variety of salads, side dishes, meat (lamb, chicken), vegetables, herbs, seasonings, fruits, dessert - various small cakes. Wine (red, white in barrels, pour it yourself. I'm not a fan, but my wife says : you can drink-: ) There will be a separate chapter about alcohol later-: ) So. . . , ate. It seems that you take a little bit of everything on a plate, but a lot comes out. But it is only on the first day that you learn, so to speak, your measure of consumption.
We rested in the room, bathed. You get used to the water, it is very salty, (salt appears on the body as you dry out, you need to rinse off in the shower, which is right there on the beach) you just have to dip. By the way,
7. About the climate, insects and marine animals . .
Judging by the reviews of connoisseurs vacationing with us, compared to other resorts in Turkey, the climate in Bodrum resembles the Crimean one (moderately continental, humidity is only 15%), while in the same Alanya-Antalya and other southern Turkish resorts, humidity reaches 80%) , that is, a person is constantly sweating there, even at night the air conditioner does not save in the room. It is difficult to breathe from the "damp heat". And it’s beautiful here: a decent breeze always blows from the sea, smoothing out the forty-degree heat to quite bearable. But creams against the sun and burns will not interfere naturally. Flying insects are almost invisible, probably the wind blows them off the coast. Mosquitol in vain we took with us.
Near the beach behind the ledge on the left there is a small wild lagoon, sand, but there are no umbrellas and sunbeds. We found that the water is warmer there for some reason. However, the bottom is very rocky. Sea urchins hid among the stones, and although the guides warned us, my wife and I, two days before departure, nevertheless accidentally touched our feet. Pretty annoying. The spines break off on the sole with small splinters, which are very difficult to remove. Injuries associated with sea urchins are not included in the concept of "insured event". Yes, and calling a doctor to the hotel will cost thirty dollars.

They managed on their own and with a needle, but they brought home three splinters. So be careful. And of course try not to burn. The most inferno, as you know, from 11 to 11. Under a strong wind, you don’t notice how you burn. Yes, and the sun "sticks" in the sea. For those who tan is not an end in itself, they arranged a small quiet hour after dinner.
8. Dinner
Same as lunch. Do not overeat-: ) In general, it is unlikely that someone goes to hotels where "all inclusive" - to eat and sleep off. It’s just that for us, probably in the constant comparison of the quality of rest with the Crimean one, this problem (“what to cook for dinner today”) has disappeared, which is also good.
9. Alcohol.
The question is interesting for Russians. Do not think that these lines are written by an alcoholic-: ) I, like all tourists-: )
Vodka (they have "votka"), gin, as well as Turkish raka vodka, begin to pour in bars from 12 noon until midnight. But the portions are so small. We'll have to take double ones-: ) But they are scanty, and if with ice, then even more so. But not a hangover cider. Raka, diluted with water, resembles pectusin. Apparently for our benefit, only wine is in self-bottling casks. The phrase: "That double vodka, know ice" is easy to learn and the bartenders are not surprised. Come as long as you want. Freebie, sir-: )
Beer from 9 o'clock, but it's not beer. Rather, a beer drink, bitter and completely non-alcoholic. But people drink
There is cola, also diluted, sprite. It seems to me that everything is diluted there-: )
Do not drink tap water in the rooms!
10. Staff. Service.
Turks are very friendly and polite. They explain to you in English, they don’t speak Russian at all, but they understand gestures. In English, thank you, they answer "well. " Before removing the plate, they ask: "finish? " It is enough for our tourist to know a few elementary words-phrases.
Russian single girls who are tall and blonde! Get ready for the admiring glances of young Turkish people. But they also look at our steel women - : ) The seniority of the staff in the restaurant and bar is determined by the color of the shirts. White shirts are ranked higher. You can’t be in swimsuits in a restaurant, but it’s also completely optional to dress up, there are high-heeled shoes, hairstyles . .

The security is invisible, but it carries out service. "Strangers don't go here" We personally did not hand over documents and money for storage in the reception safe (3 dollars a day). No one climbed into the travel bag. Of course, if you leave a dollar on the bed, the cleaning staff will regard it as a tip. Cleaned every day (we have at about 10.30) Some of them folded origami in the form of roses or swans from a towel, decorated with plant flowers, even without a tip. Our linen, apparently, did not change (although it is supposed to be every three days), only towels. Shampoos, soap were also not updated, only toilet paper. However, these little things didn't bother us.
11. Entertainment, excursions.
The guide of the travel agency spoke about various excursions that could be immediately arranged with him. We took a sightseeing tour of Bodrum ($ 10 per person) and a boat trip with a free bar and lunch ($ 55 / person). The sightseeing tour on the bus was not particularly memorable, we visited some remarkable places, including the Leather Center, the Gold Center, the Souvenir Shop. Everything is relatively expensive. Leather, IMHO, in Cherkizovo, is not of the worst quality and cheaper. But people took it. And gold and silver too. Well, if you have a lot of bucks with you, then it’s a personal matter... Souvenirs, especially for tourists, are also at wild prices. For example, a tiny ashtray with the inscription "Bodrum" costs 3 euros, or, at their exchange rate, 6 dollars. They say that it is cheaper in ordinary city stores. If desired, you can get to the city from the hotel by minibus for $ 2 per person, but we did not risk it. If you refuse a sightseeing tour, you will not lose much
The sea trip on the boat was more interesting, several stops near the coast and at sea, on the boat you can sunbathe on the upper deck. Pour in the bar-: )
Among other excursions: a visit to the Turkish bath, with peeling, and massage. For an amateur. . .
Also - a disco in Halicarnassus. Well, it's for the youth. There, in the midst of foam poured. Cool. . .
There is the so-called "Rafting". This is for extreme sports-descent on rubber boats with oars, fishing and so on. .
There is even a trip to Israel. 495 bucks per person for three days. To come to Turkey for a week, to hit the road to Israel for three days. Plus, you need a Schengen visa.
There is also some kind of sea excursion with a visit to Cleopatra Island, where there is "pure white sand", which cannot even be taken out in swimming trunks... -: )
On the beach of Akasia, all water activities: banana, tablets, scooter, etc. , except for water bicycles.

In the hotel, from lunch until midnight, music is played on the pool, ranging from Turkish and acid motives to "romantic collection". Once a week - an impromptu VIA with "live music". Every evening at 22.30 - "show time" such as "Turkish night" (a cute Turkish girl performs a belly dance, a "snake show" (you can take a picture with a boa constrictor around your neck for free), cool contests "Mis and Mr. Akasiya"
12. Contingent
Miscellaneous: French, Italians, Turks, Russians - majority. Only foreigners dare to take children from 2 years old with them.
13. Conclusions.
For the first acquaintance with Turkey, taking into account your own unpretentious ambitions, you can go, you even need to. For example, we decided that if we go to Turkey in the future, then only to Bodrum because of the climatic conditions, but we want to "try" the hotel and better service. "Club Akasia" pulls, as they say, no more than three stars. The same guides say that there are better hotels in Bodrum, even beaches. See who is going for what. For example, I do not need slides in the pools and replenished bars in the hotel room, as well as the presence of bathrobes in the room.
It turned out to be a big essay, may the moderators here forgive me-: )
