We rested in Camel Bodrum Beach Club - from August 15 to August 22.2013, the three of us - me, my wife and daughter 3.5 years old on the all inclusive system. Somewhere in the early summer of this year, the hotel carried out a partial rebranding - it used to be called NOA Javelin Beach Club Spa (and had 5 stars), but so far only the signboard has been replaced on the hotel, even on the bracelets and in the rooms there are inscriptions from the old name - NOA .
The receiving party is TUI. Thank them. Everything was clearly organized.
Before the arrival, I managed to read reviews, including those left by English vacationers, and therefore we were mentally prepared for all the nuances. But while communicating with other vacationers already in place, it was clear that they were disappointed, because their expectations for the hotel were much higher than ours.

The contingent of the hotel is mostly Turks, then in second place in terms of numbers - Russians, then Ukrainians, quite often came across the British, and they say that there were even Germans, but they, along with the British, were crushed by a ruthless Slavic-Turkish mass 
The main area of the hotel is quite compact - the main building, the beach, three swimming pools (for adults and 2 for children), a restaurant, a stage for performances, a children's club - everything is conveniently located and not far from each other. But some of the rooms are located on the 2nd floor above the reception, and most of the rest are across the road from the main building, in three tiers on the mountainside. This is one of the main inconveniences of the hotel for those who have problems with the heart, legs, who have small children with strollers, or who are just lazy - because stomping uphill as far as the 3rd tier in the heat is stressful (and especially after a hearty dinner).
By the way, our daughter surprisingly endured and calmly endured all these transitions up to the room and back down to the beach without any indignation. It was much more difficult to persuade her to go to the room after the children's disco (more on that below). So, if possible, then ask for rooms either above the reception (plus - convenient and close, minus - you can hear noise and music by the pool), or if you want to avoid noise - then at least in the first tier. In principle, for those who are healthy and full of energy and optimism, like us, even a room on the 3rd tier should not be a problem, besides, the rooms on this tier offer a wonderful view of the bay and the mountains behind it.
Now about our number from the inside. I can't speak for all the details of the hotel, but it is the room that is the main reason for my low rating of this hotel. The rooms are very spacious, but they were cleaned very badly, after washing the floors by the staff in the room there was an unpleasant smell of detergent.

The balcony (very spacious by the way) was not washed at all, the floor on it is very dirty. Several times the towels that were brought in for replacement were dirty. It seems that they were just brought to us from another room, where they had just been taken from  But most likely, they are simply not washed well.
The bathroom and the washbasin have not been washed for a long time either, from the drain hole in the floor under the sink (where water flows after washing the floors) the smell of sewerage (!! ) often came out. The drain from the bathroom did not work well and was cleaned only after our third request, when I described the problem in English on a piece of paper and drew a picture and gave this petition to the reception. Hot water in the evening sometimes came into the room badly, more precisely, a little warm water flowed instead, most likely it simply does not reach the 3rd tier in a heated state, when everyone starts washing in the evening. I remembered our Crimea  But in the morning and in the afternoon everything is OK with hot water.
The restaurant is located right on the seashore, in the open air under awnings. He pleased with consistently high-quality and tasty food - not haute cuisine, of course, but it is clear that the chefs are trying, and at the same time they use the quality seasonal products available in Turkey - a wide selection of fresh salads, herbs, vegetables, sauces for them, meat, fish, pizza ( so we called it, although in fact it is something like pita bread with cheese and meat filling), a good soup, mouth-watering sweets, delicious raisins and dried apricots. Of the fresh fruits, only seasonal ones were constantly offered - apples, oranges, melons and watermelons. Melons are especially tasty, we don't have them. But for some reason there were no grapes at all, although it would be time for him to appear in these parts at that time. Of the shortcomings - there is no corner with food for children, the only thing that helped us out was that our daughter is no longer quite small and eats the same as we do. But with a very small child who is still on milk and cereals, it will be difficult here!
At the same time, we wondered what the Turks, who also rested here, feed their one-year-old children.

Beer, cola, sprite, water, coffee, wine (for dinner) - at the pool bar for free. Alcoholic cocktails - for money, ask the bartender for prices 
Also in the restaurant there was such a phenomenon as midnight soup (that is, midnight soup). This is soup and salads from 24:00 to half past one for those who are especially hungry or for those who still have room to pour something else into themselves after a hearty dinner  And by the way, if you returned in the evening after a long excursion and did not have time for dinner, then this it might be very helpful. But we were never able to check what kind of midnight soup it was, after dinner there was simply no desire.
The beach is also very pleasant, although small, but there is enough space for everyone.
There are no waves at all throughout the day - it seems that you are swimming in a lake  The bottom is sandy, very shallow near the shore, the depth increases very smoothly, for children what is needed. In some places, stones come across at the entrance to the water - namely, in front of the pool. Small pebbles lie in a narrow strip at the entrance to the water along the entire beach, and are quite hard, so those with delicate feet and small children should be careful, or wear beach slippers. A couple of people managed to cut their toes with something. But in the water the bottom is excellent, the sand is generally amazing - golden grains seem to be scattered on it along the bottom, and if you stir it up, then this “golden dust” when it hangs in the water sparkles even more in the sun. The water during our stay was warm and crystal clear. There are a lot of fish and they let them get very close to themselves and only then swim away.
And if you swim a little deeper with a mask early in the morning, you can see a lot of interesting things above the areas with algae. When it gets dark, near the pier, where the water is illuminated, a huge flock of mullet is fattening and one Turk caught three of them for bread (! )

From early morning until about 11 am there is a complete calm, then a noticeable wind begins, which for some reason always blows from the SHORE and gets even stronger by late evening. Thanks to this wind, the heat near the water is not felt at all, and in general, the Bodrum region is considered the mildest in terms of summer weather on the entire Aegean-Mediterranean coast in Turkey.
The reason why I did not rate the beach as excellent is DOGS. There are several of them, and two redheads seem to have permanent residence, and two or three others come to visit them. The dogs are very large but fortunately good-natured.
Vacationers on the beach treat them tolerantly, although the staff chases them and probably has something for it - one red-haired muzzle the day before departure tried to steal my shorts from the sunbed, in which, by the way, there was money and something else very valuable! I read somewhere in the reviews about this hotel and in the comments to them that they say that they treat animals well in Turkey - they even let them go to the beaches, and that they say that in Turkey there is a place for everyone. Bullshit. No self-respecting hotel will tolerate dogs (even with collars) on their beach, where small children swim.
Since we spent all the time at the sea (breakfast - beach - room - lunch - daytime sleep for a child - beach - dinner), we didn’t need any entertainment there. Of the entertainment, we only visited the children's disco, which was held by animators at 21:00, my daughter was delighted with him, it was very difficult to persuade her to leave when it was all over.
In general, the summary is as follows: it seems that at one time the hotel was simply not completed - they wanted to make something cozy and beautiful, but then at some stage they somehow broke off. In any case, some (if not all! ) of the rooms are in need of repair, especially the replacement of plumbing. But if you are ready to put up with the shortcomings described, then you can have a good rest here, because the beach, the sea and the food are good. But too fastidious, glamorous and party-goers - not here.
Number: bad
Restaurant: excellent
Beach and sea: good (the quality of the sea outweighed the negative from the dogs  )
Bar: not rated (because we didn't use it)
Kids club / animation: not rated (due to not fully used)

Location of the hotel: satisfactory (no shops, no other bars and restaurants nearby, no places for promenades like the promenade).

P. S. Special thanks to Windrose Airlines for a great spacious aircraft (Airbus 330) and good service.
