I will try to turn off the emotions and tell as objectively as possible.
Was in Turkey for the first time and chose a hotel "price / quality" for a very long time. Before that I was in Europe and twice in Egypt. According to the reviews, I really liked the Astoria. So the choice was made and we went through Coral Travel. (Speaking of Coral. On the way to Kemer, they will make a stop for rest, a possible currency exchange or purchase of drinks. So, in that store I do not recommend exchanging money or buying something, because I witnessed an unpleasant incident with our tourists and dishonest seller. )
The hotel is small, opened in 2006.

As soon as we entered the hotel and the guide left us, we were sent to Aunt Ira, who was familiar from previous reviews, who actually runs the Turkish bath at the hotel. Why to her, and not to the reception - they did not understand, but they knew from the reviews that she was a good woman and probably everything was for the best. Aunt Ira told us that there were no good rooms in the hotel today and either we settled in a room overlooking the kitchen of a neighboring hotel, or we spent the night in a “guest room” and tomorrow we were settled in a good vacant room, though if we didn’t tell our guide anything. Of course, we agreed and, with joy and gratitude, immediately bought the bath procedures offered to us at $ 30 per person. We spent the night in a nearby 3* hotel. The next day we were settled in the promised good room and it seems the troubles are over. But... the air conditioner in the room worked according to a strange algorithm, then it cooled, then it just blew warm air, and even rattled disgustingly. As it turned out later, this was the case in all rooms. However, later we learned that 90% of tourists also passed through Aunt Ira and also spent the night in the same neighboring hotel and also purchased bathhouse services. Aunt Ira found osteochondrosis in 99% of tourists and recommended a massage course with a bunch of discounts, etc. "only" for $150. Bed linen in the room was never changed. The first 3 days we tried to leave a tip, then just stopped. because they preferred to appear in the room in a state when they already really wanted to sleep, and we ourselves were quite clean - we didn’t begin to figure out about the bed. I will say one thing to animation lovers. The hotel simply does not have it. They say last year there was some kind of no, but this year it simply does not exist. There is a DJ-animator Sergey, but he appeared at his console 2-3 times a day, to change the disc when someone asked him (usually it was after a couple of hours of silence). He came to change the mp-3 disk and disappeared again. Although I will say good things about him: at discos, he protects girls from annoying Turks. By the way, there are a lot of the latter in the hotel. All male and quite arrogant. Girls among themselves they call "affectionately" meat. In the evenings you can go to discos, it costs $ 5, you are taken and brought back. The hotel bar did not have an ice machine, which in 40-degree heat will not make the rest more pleasant. There is not much to say about the kitchen. Cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, chicken. Well, dozens of salads, which consist of the previously listed products in different combinations. From soups you can eat only pea. There are many sweets, but they all taste very similar, either pastries soaked in a sweet liquid filling, or jelly-like desserts.
A few words about the beach. The beach is 10 minutes walk. I won’t say that along the picturesque streets, but not along the terrible territory. There are always free sun loungers on the beach. Perhaps this is because the entire beach area is covered with sun loungers. That is, you will not be able to walk along the bank. There are sun loungers and there is the sea. Between sun loungers 15-20 centimeters. This is the beach. The beach bar is chargeable. Beer $5. Haven't tried shipping for free. Perhaps it is possible if hidden.
On the last day after swimming in the hotel pool, my eyes were very sore. And for everyone who swam, apparently it added something cleansing. The next day, fortunately, everything went away.
Now a few words with my emotions:
What I personally understood for myself is that you should not believe all the positive reviews word for word. Again, after this first trip to Turkey, I realized that for me it was also the last trip to this country. Perhaps this is how the circumstances developed, but the two previous trips to Egypt to hotels of the same categories left much more pleasant impressions in me.
I wish you a good holiday!
