Despite many unflattering reviews when choosing a hotel, we nevertheless decided to follow the advice of the manager from the agency and add up our "dissenting opinion".
On the day of arrival (08/25/2008) my most undesirable scenario came true. But first things first. We were going on our honeymoon and, anticipating the influx of tourists, I found the hotel website and wrote a short letter (in English) about reserving a room, describing the options I wanted: a double bed, a balcony, a quiet room, not on the first floor, etc.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we handed over our documents to the reception. The group consisted of seven people, while I gave our documents to the first of those who arrived. After some time, they began to call us in turn. To my surprise, my wife and I were the last to be called and were told that there were no rooms, so they would put us in a nearby hotel.

We were simply confronted with a fact and did not begin to explain why we were so “lucky”. However, we agreed that tomorrow several rooms would become vacant and we would be given a choice. The next day, we chose the best room out of the three offered, which were only released, but the sediment from the misunderstanding remained. We were presented with a bottle of dry Turkish wine as compensation. The room was spacious (it all depends on the building), with individual air conditioning, but no balcony. The situation in the room did not cause any complaints and in general had to rest!!!
My wife and I reacted positively to this misunderstanding with the resettlement in the sense that we were initially settled in a hotel that was nearby, it was a cozy place, and we had the opportunity to compare the service. However, we had to spend one night in a room on the first floor, in area - a little more than a double bed. At the same time, we ate at our hotel, went to the beach and tried to ignore the inconvenience.
Having moved to Konar and Doruk, I realized for myself that the service at the hotel will not delight expectations, because. the hotel is big enough, there are a lot of people and everything is put on stream. We were fed wonderfully. There was enough protein: chicken, liver, veal, fish, and a couple of times soy. We didn’t go hungry: on the contrary, every time I “barely climbed out from behind the table. ” There were traditionally a lot of vegetables. From fruits: mostly watermelons and once there was sultanas.
It is worth noting that the bar at the hotel is "disgusting". Alcoholic drinks due to the large number of tourists ended by 9 pm, the bar closed by 10 pm. However, there was almost always beer. From local drinks we drank gin and their anisette liqueur (Raki). There was no local brandy or cognac. Wine tried once, but it was not impressive at all. Yes, I did not expect anything special from the wine. The gin and tonic was okay and we drank it most of the time.
There was never any juice at the bar. In general, the concept of "juice" for the hotel Konar and Doruk is an outlandish thing (bought in a store). Instead of juice, they gave people a diluted drink a la Jupi. The tea left much to be desired (tried once or twice). There was no natural coffee at all, but only instant coffee - from the machine. The lack of soft and hot drinks of normal quality lowered the overall impression of the kitchen and bar of the Konar and Doruk hotel.

Comparing the Kemer hotel Konar and Doruk (three Turkish stars) with the Asli hotel in Marmaris (also three Turkish stars), I realized that Kemer is weaker in terms of service and quality of the kitchen and bar. And I wanted to be in Marmaris again on my honeymoon.
The hotel itself is quiet in the evenings, which is relaxing and allows you to relax. The hotel has two swimming pools: about 4 * 8 and 2.5 * 4. Bananas, pomegranates, persimmons grow on a small area of the hotel; there is a place to hide from the sun.
In general, I liked the rest in the hotel, but I described the subjective shortcomings above. At the reception, you don’t have to give anything to anyone, but simply politely explain what you don’t like. Well, what kind of Turk likes being yelled at by drunken Russians? Everyone mostly understands in Russian, less often in English.
In terms of entertainment in Kemer, everything is very modest. There are a couple of nightclubs (3-4), the entrance to which costs 20-25 dollars. We did not get into any of the clubs, because. did not consider the entry price adequate. In the evenings we spent walking around the city, the embankment, during the day we went on excursions. Twice we got on the market day (on Wednesdays). They bought fruits (grapes, peaches, which were not given at the hotel), Turkish sweets (they are fresher, much tastier and cheaper than packaged), souvenirs. We also found the French supermarket chain Carrefour (near the waterfront and not far from the central mosque). They bought drinks there: Pepsi, alternative beer, cigarettes (it's cheaper to take a couple of packs with you).
Excursions in Kemer are for every taste: historical, extreme. We went rafting (very liberal and almost no extreme). We went for a walk on a yacht (all day) and on Mira-Kekova (very interesting historical). It is better to buy tours from local agencies directly, because. tour operators "wind up" the price on kickbacks - one and a half, two times. The climate in Kemer resembles the Crimea, but it is harder to breathe due to high humidity.

For myself, I realized that the quality of rest is not always determined only by the service, but also by the attitude to the rest, a positive attitude, and the positive emotions that you share with people (hotel staff, shop assistants, guides, hotel neighbors).
Before Kemer, (in summer) we went to rest in the Crimea (in spring). So, friends: when you feel at home as a visitor, that's why our people are drawn abroad. And although you don’t buy in the Crimea in the spring, you still get charged with positive from the atmosphere itself.
