From August 2 to August 9.2010, my wife and I rested at the five-star Marti Myra Hotel located in Antalya, Turkey.
The flight was carried out by Ukraine International Airlines, in my opinion, one of the best.
And early in the morning, after a 2.5 hour flight, we landed in Antalya, it was our first trip to Turkey.
The process of passing through passport control, buying a visa (cost 30 USD per person) and getting luggage took 25 minutes!! ! (and in my native Boryspil, upon arrival home, it all took 1.5 hours) and here we are in a comfortable bus with the logo of the rising sun, which is already a favorite tour operator "Turtess". We were met by a representative of the tour operator Maxim (to whom a separate hello, a very sociable, intelligent and interesting interlocutor) who, on the way to the hotel, briefly told us about the country and its features, local customs, excursions, interesting things and various options for recreation at hotels.
We arrived at the hotel about 1 hour later. Leaving the bus, we were amazed by the abundance of greenery on the territory of the hotel, namely pines, eucalyptus, palm trees, banana trees, laurel bushes and other plants unknown to us, and also by the INCREDIBLE HEAT, which was exacerbated by 80% humidity.
Near the reception, we were met by several people from the hotel staff, who greeted us on arrival in Turkey and treated us to Turkish delight. The receptionist, like everywhere else we were, was huge and hospitable.
But from the moment of registration, we started having problems, namely, we booked a double standard room on the second floor, and upon arrival we were told that there were no rooms on the second floor, but we insisted on our own, and our wish was fulfilled, moreover, without scandal and for free!! ! True, I had to hang out a bit at the reception while the room was being cleaned. But we went to rest in a good mood and this did not upset us much, especially since we got into our room before the check-in time set at the hotel.
They settled us in the 26th building No. 2624, a bit, as it seemed to me, far from the reception, somewhere in a 5-minute slow walk.
The room itself turned out to be ordinary, everything was in order and worked, everything was clean, although if you look critically, you could feel a certain shabbiness of our home. I also did not like the air conditioning control system, it was difficult to set a specific temperature in the room, which introduced some discomfort during sleep, it was either cold or hot.
But we, on the other hand, did not go to hang constantly in the room, but to RELAX !! ! And for this you need nature, air, sea, sports and new impressions from new acquaintances and what you see. And all this was on the territory of the hotel, which was simply buried in greenery, sometimes it seemed that we were in the tropical jungle, which was given a special charm by the ubiquitous cicadas, which calmed down only at night for a couple of hours. Hammocks were hung near the hotel buildings, in which it was possible to relax both day and night after hard tourist days.
The hotel has about 7 pools, of which 3 were for children of different ages, there were also two small slides in the water park.
Separately, I would like to stay at the main restaurant, he was alone. It seemed to us that the staff did not rationally use the space of the room, so there were not enough tables for all. The staff served, as it is sluggish, the tablecloths changed very slowly and at the request of vacationers. Since my wife and I rested together, and there were no double tables at all, we had to occupy a four-seater, and, accordingly, two places were empty, and at that time there was nowhere for others to sit. As for the menu, here the hotel got a solid five, the variety went off scale, there was always freshly squeezed orange juice, a variety of vegetables and a sea of u200bu200bfruits. Separately, I would like to note that the so-called themed dinners in the main restaurant, which were held every two days, it was something!! ! We found a themed meat and fish dinner, this is when the chefs of the restaurant prepared mainly a variety of meat and fish dishes, at that time it seemed that all the staff were transformed into magicians who, by their looks, fulfilled all requests and wishes, and the service became as promised upon purchase tour - ultra all inclusive.
Also during the day, between meals, you could have a snack in a pizzeria and eat sweet pancakes. To drink alcoholic beverages and various cocktails, if anyone is interested, it was possible, starting with breakfast and ending somewhere at 2 o'clock in the morning.
There were also 4 additional restaurants on the territory of the hotel, in which it was necessary to pre-register: Turkish, Chinese and French cuisine and fish. My wife and I signed up for everything, but visited only 2. In Turkish, we liked it very much, there were Turkish dishes and drinks, a girl danced an oriental dance, but the fish restaurant was just awful, it feels like all the dishes present were taken from the buffet of the main restaurant, and the main dish in it was dry overcooked salmon. We decided not to go to other restaurants so as not to spoil the overall impression of the hotel.
The Mediterranean Sea is what we went to this country for, we were disappointed, the water temperature was about 29 degrees, it was almost impossible to cool down in the water, I swam in the sea first, and to cool down I went to the pool, where the water was an order of magnitude lower. The sea reminded Black, there are almost no living creatures, the water is very salty.
There is a huge amount of entertainment in the hotel: a small water park, water polo, table tennis, darts, all kinds of boats and catamarans, a lot of entertainment for children, who were just a lot in the hotel. To be honest, I would call this hotel for children, everything was done here by the staff to make parents and children feel comfortable. Anyone who chooses a place to relax with children - I advise you to go!! ! In addition, the air here is simply superb, it is a pity that it is not possible to convey in the description that cocktail of smells of the sea, pine needles and eucalyptus, which also has enormous healing properties. Most of the staff at the hotel can communicate in Russian, so those who have problems with a foreign language can go here safely. The staff is very attentive and friendly, in case of any problem they try to help to the maximum.
At the time of our vacation, there were vacationers in the hotel, somewhere from 15 countries (Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, England, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Poland, etc. ), in the hotel there is a tradition to hang out the flag of the country from which to they came to rest.
The animation in the hotel is very strong, every day, something new, you could find entertainment for everyone, depending on their interests.
In general, we liked the hotel, and the rest was a success! They returned home rested and at the same time tired of new impressions and emotions!
