Good afternoon everyone! We rested (2 adults) in the beautiful Can Garden Beach 4 * hotel this year from 19.07 to 30.07. When choosing a hotel, we paid attention to the reviews and decided to share our impressions for those who are also considering this hotel, we hope that it will be useful.
I would like to start with the fact that this hotel has 4 *, but at the same time it fully deserves 5 * in terms of level, which is confirmed by the high rating: our expectations were fully justified. The hotel is located in the resort region of Side, and in general in this region there are 2 Can Garden hotels - Can Garden Beach 4 * (which will be discussed in the review) and Can Garden Resort 5 *. These hotels are completely different, and we heard that there were cases of confusion when choosing and booking, so we advise you to pay special attention to this point.
And now in more detail about all the main advantages and possibilities of the hotel:
1. TOUR OPERATOR, FLIGHT, TRANSFER
Our tour operator was Anex Tour, with a round-trip group transfer.
The transfer procedure is generally standard, upon arrival and passing all the formalities at the airport, we proceeded to the counters, where there was a small queue, after which all tourists were assigned to buses, which, accompanied by guides, take everyone to hotels. A small nuance: sometimes tourist buses are not allowed into the territory of the Ancient City (this happened to us), so we had to walk part of the way with our suitcases. In the opposite direction, we left without problems from the reception doors.
The return transfer itself was partially guided: in the middle of the journey, when everyone was collected from their hotels, the guide announced the basic information about the departure and transferred everyone to the responsibility of the driver. This did not cause us any inconvenience, because we have repeatedly been to Turkey and knew what to do next.
We flew from Moscow (Domodedovo) a / to Turkish Airlines, on a charter flight to Antalya.
The flight to Antalya left on schedule, the online check-in function was not available, but we did it at the counters at the airport without any problems. The flight back was delayed for 2 hours, but most likely not through the fault of the airline: we flew out in the evening at the peak hour, and in general, Antalya airport has a huge passenger flow and a lot of flights, so we were not surprised at the delay. At the same time, online check-in was available for the return flight, which we took advantage of. Turkish Airlines themselves are super: service, food and drinks at the highest level, the flight according to the plan was supposed to be 4 hours 55 minutes, while in fact 4 flew. We recommend that you choose in favor of them when choosing an a / c.
2. SETTLEMENT
Upon arrival at the hotel, we were settled within 15 minutes, although there were still 2 hours before the official time by international standards (check-in from 14:00). We were taken to our room in a typewriter, explained how to use the equipment and received a small sweet compliment from the hotel, which was nice.

LOCATION OF THE HOTEL
The location of the Can Garden Beach Hotel is its separate advantage, which cannot be ignored. The hotel was actually built in the Antique City of Side, 3 minutes from the entrance, 5 minutes from the Amphitheater, and within walking distance from other attractions. If you like walks and excursions, then this will be an ideal choice, from the hotel you can walk both to Side itself (up from the hotel; there are banks, local bazaars with better prices in Lira), walk along the promenade (you can get around in 4 hours in both directions, past other hotels, cafes, shops and restaurants), and, of course, walk to the Antique City (this is the center of everything, where there are attractions, a port, shops, souvenirs and restaurants with bars for every taste). A huge number of guests from hotels from all around Side come to the city, especially in the evenings, for 10 euros one way, Can Carden occupies the most advantageous location in this regard.
4. HOTEL TERRITORY
The territory of the hotel truly justifies its name - it is a large garden with flowers and fruit trees, which is looked after daily, watered, cleaned. At first glance, the territory will seem large and confusing, but in fact it is quite compact and all the main places are connected by footpaths. The hotel itself is built on the principle of a bungalow and consists of houses, where 1 house = 1 room (mainly for two). At the same time, there are bigger houses (from several rooms per family) and houses with 4 rooms. Each house has its own balcony with chairs and a small hedge, while it is important to consider that the balconies overlook the paths where other hotel guests walk, but this did not bother us personally.
We lived in room (house) 1526, not far from the reception and in easy access to all the main locations - restaurant, pool, beach.
In one of the reviews they read that the rooms have very good audibility, but they did not notice such a problem, with the exception of a slight noise from the outbuilding (it was behind our room) only in the daytime. At the same time, due to the peculiarities of the territory, some of the rooms overlook the pool and the bar, and if silence is critical for you, it is better to indicate this in advance in the wishes for settlement.
Also on the territory there is a main pool (activities take place in it during the day) with a snack bar where you can have a bite to eat during the day, a mini-pool with 2 slides (work 2 times a day for a limited time), Cleopatra bar (works with 19 to 23 hours), 2 A-la carte restaurants (by appointment on certain days, but we did not go), an amphitheater with a bar where evening animation shows are held, in a remote corner there is a volleyball court.
Separately, I would like to say that a large number of cats live on the territory of the hotel, which are fed and cared for by the hotel staff (all animals are clean, half are tame and gladly come to visit guests on the guests' balconies), you can also meet hedgehogs in the evening (there were lots of).
5. NUMBER
The room (house) at first glance looks very compact, but for 2 adults it was quite comfortable. The room has 2 beds, a table for beach things, a mirror with a pouffe, a large closet with enough hangers, a mini-bar, which is replenished daily with soda and plain water for free, a safe - for a fee (but we did not use it), a TV (Russian there are no channels, only Turkish and mostly German), a kettle with cups, glass glasses, air conditioning that works without problems.
The bathroom has a shower that worked perfectly, all the necessary supplies, from liquid soap to toothbrushes. In general, the room has everything except bathrobes (if this is super important to someone), for 4 * it's super, like in 5 *. As a result, the room left a very pleasant impression, during the entire stay we did not encounter any problems.
6. SERVICE
Separately, I would like to note the high level of service. This hotel works mainly for German tourists, but since 2019, when tourists from Russia began to arrive, it has been actively working to ensure that they are also comfortable: the staff tries to speak Russian, all signs in restaurants and other places are also duplicated in Russian language. The main languages of communication are German and English, but it will be comfortable for those whose knowledge is minimal.
Separately, I would like to say that in part of the reviews it was said that the staff was somewhat spoiled (“they won’t serve without a tip and pass by”), but during the entire stay we never encountered this - all the waiters and other hotel staff were active, friendly , showed attention, brought drinks and took away plates, regardless of which part of the restaurant you take a seat and whether you tip (we tried to sit at the same tables with our especially beloved waiters).
For the first time in Turkey, I want to separately thank and praise the waiters from the beach bar, who themselves (without asking) regularly served and offered drinks and water, and also took away empty dishes.
Cleaning in the rooms was carried out daily, in general, it did not cause any complaints, despite the different cleaning teams that changed. Installations of towels were constantly found on the bed, linen was changed, the floors were wiped with high quality.
Common areas (both internal and external) are also kept clean, dishes in restaurants and glasses in bars are also in perfect condition.
Throughout the hotel, including the beach, there was free Wi-Fi, sometimes there were short interruptions (at times when there was a big load).
7. FOOD AND BEVERAGE
When choosing a hotel, we paid special attention to reviews about food. Many people spoke positively about the food at Can Garden, and this turned out to be absolutely true - the food is really delicious!
- For breakfast - a large number of pastries, cheese and sausage in assortment, fruits, salads, vegetables, croissants, hot dishes, eggs, pancakes, omelettes, from drinks - tea, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice (delivered by the waiter and offered to everyone without exception) .
- For lunch - fish, meat, chicken, turkey in all possible forms, side dishes, a separate table with salads and all kinds of fresh vegetables and fruits, for dinner - all the same, but in triple size, as well as a separate table with several types of pasta , grill, interesting dishes - the choice is limitless. The hotel regularly hosts themed dinners - Turkish (on the day of the Turkish Night), Asian (with a focus on rolls and other Asian dishes), sea (with shrimp, mussels and other seafood in various forms).
For lovers of sweets, there is a separate table with desserts - cakes, cakes, mousses for every taste, as well as ice cream (4 types). From alcohol in the restaurant - wine (red and white), beer, any soda. Fruits - watermelon, melon, peaches, nectarines and other seasonal fruits - are all fresh and very sweet.
The bars have a special menu: it has both free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (5 cocktails on local alcohol + other basic ones) and paid options (whisky, liqueurs, etc. ). We made do with what was included.
In total - food can be rated 5+, both in quality, and in assortment, and in taste. The chef personally controls everything and goes out to the guests at lunches and dinners, and the hotel management is also regularly interested in the restaurant, whether you like everything - you can safely share feedback and wishes, if any.
8. ANIMATION
The hotel has a small team of animators - 5 people, the guys during the day are engaged in mobile activities with guests (by the pool and on the beach), there is a mini club for children. In the evenings, there are mostly simple shows and entertainment such as Bingo and Quiz, once a week (on Tuesdays) guest groups perform as part of the Turkish Night.
Evening animation is globally designed for the German part of the guests, but the host also duplicates the information in English, so the essence of what is happening is clear. We went to the show selectively, preferring to walk in the evenings. I would like to thank Shiyar, Olga and Nuri for the pleasant communication and say hello : )
9. CAPACITY AND RELATIONSHIPS
Separately, I would like to talk about the guests who rest at the hotel, in order, among other things, to dispel the myths about tension towards guests from Russia - we ourselves were a little worried about this, but, as it turned out, completely in vain.
The hotel is a family hotel, not for parties and youth companies. The hotel mainly rests families without children or families with teenagers, there were almost no very small children. By nationality, these are German tourists (80–90%), guests from Poland (5%), at first there were no Russian tourists at all (my mother and I + another family), but at the end of the holiday, Russian speech began to be heard more often.
In terms of places - guests from the very morning occupy them with towels for the whole day, these are habits, we did the same, but at any time of the day you could find a place on the beach.
In general, the state of the beach is monitored by beach-boy Nuri, who is very responsible (sometimes, even too much : )) for his work, but the main thing is to communicate politely and then there will be no misunderstandings.
The entrance to the sea was cleared at the entrance in one place, in the reviews they read that it was narrow and uncomfortable, but in fact it turned out to be about 5 meters wide, and there were no queues to enter the sea. As for the stones in the sea, they also read reviews that they had not been cleared for a long time and, on the recommendation of other tourists, they took coral slippers, but in fact, in the sea, in addition to the entrance, a large area was also cleared to the right of the entrance, so you can swim comfortably without slippers. By depth, you can choose: either swim in the area where you can stand, or a little further away, to the buoys.
The coast of Side itself is rocky, so you should not expect only white soft sand, there really are stones, but not everywhere. If you like diving with a mask or goggles, then feel free to take it with you, as there is something to see in the sea (according to the impressions of other guests).
Since the sea was especially important for us, we spent most of the day on the beach, and were completely satisfied.
11. IMPORTANT AND USEFUL DETAILS
In addition, there are several important points that we recommend to consider:
1) Smoking is everywhere in the hotel - in the restaurant on the veranda at dinner, on the beach, on the balconies, by the pool, with children - this is not prohibited by the rules of the hotel
2) In the vicinity of the Antique City of Side, almost all prices in shops / cafes are in euros, since the city is focused on European tourists. If you want to buy the same but more profitable, go to the city of Side itself to local bazaars and shops.
3) In Turkey, at the moment, you can use cards of the Mir payment system, but it is important to keep in mind that: a) direct payment by card may not work b) cards of not all banks are accepted at ATMs (cards of the most popular banks are guaranteed to pass, n -r Sberbank, Tinkoff, VTB) c) ATMs in Turkey (like banks) operate at very different rates and charge commissions for requesting an account balance (about 15 rubles). In general, at the time of our vacation it was more profitable to exchange rubles for lira directly, but it is better to think over this point separately so as not to run into difficulties
4) If you want to visit the Amphitheater and Side Museum (the only paid attractions), change Lira in advance, because you can only buy a ticket for this currency. The ticket price also varies depending on the season and is set by the state - it is better to check it at the box office in advance.
As a conclusion - the rest turned out to be gorgeous, and the hotel left only positive impressions, with great pleasure we would return there again and are ready to recommend it to everyone who wants to get high-quality service and only pleasant impressions for reasonable money!
