Stayed August 2017. The first line is convenient and pleasant. As soon as you arrive - class, beautiful. But that's where all the excitement ends.
The beach is wide, sand/shell rock. Passing through the shells (both on land and in the sea), you cut your legs, squeak in pain. Sea... This is a spit, the open sea. It doesn’t matter what the weather is and t outside the window, every day there is a storm, every day there is an icy wind on the beach. It is icy, which does not allow you to gain courage to go into the water, which, in principle, is relatively not cold. The storm is too strong for children under 10 years old to swim there. Actually, you often see the picture -
the cry of a child “no need” and a dejected parent carrying a poor child into the sea “we came to the sea - at least wash yourself”... This is very insulting and 100% will multiply the rest of any parent who came with a child to zero. An adult weighing less than 50 kg is easily thrown by the wave with his knees on the shell rock with all the consequences. And then you sit shivering in a towel. So the sea is beautiful and romantic, meant only to be looked at. Shiko's employees will immediately tell you that the sea is always calm here, it is not clear what is happening these days. It is not true. It's always like that here.

Already 10 meters from the beach there is no wind, it's hot.
You can walk to the market and a network of cafes (a bit far, but you can) or take a minibus #15 for 7 UAH. The same minibus will take you to the dolphinarium and the zoo. Actually, it is the dolphinarium and the zoo that make your vacation here. Great places, pleasant emotions, 10 out of 10 points, class and respect for the owners!
The cuisine in the cafe is not bad, you can choose dishes to taste. We liked the "Uzbek cuisine" and the pizzeria. Prices are almost the same as in Kyiv, barbecue 50 UAH / 100 grm, mashed potatoes 30 UAH, pizza 115 UAH, pilaf 50 UAH, soups from 30 to 50, cheburek from 25 UAH, etc.
Regarding insects. Ooooh, that's a separate issue. There are not so many habitual biting mosquitoes here as on the second line from the beach (I don’t know how vacationers survive there at all... ), there is a swarm, hordes, darkness of green insects. Like in a horror movie, nothing more. You will immediately be informed that you cannot poison them - they are listed in the Red Book and that tomorrow they will fly away. And again lies. It's a shame that tourists are considered fools. These insects are nothing more than a ringing mosquito, which has not been brought anywhere, however, as never before, is not going to leave its place of residence. Insects don't bite, but there are so many of them!! ! and they climb everywhere and sit around everything - the bathing suit is ruined.
The room is not bad. There are water shortages. Not very clean. The drain tank broke, but was quickly repaired. Wi-fi is very weak, often non-existent.
Here it is in a nutshell.
Perhaps the rest will appeal to adults without children who do not like to swim and do not have the means to go on vacation to another place.
