During my short stay in Kharkov, I chose the Express Hotel for an overnight stay, because it is located near the Lokomotiv Sports Complex (15 minutes on foot), in which the 9th Spartakiad of Ukrainian Railway Workers was held on August 5-7.2016, in which I hosted participation like a cheerleader. At first, when looking for a shelter, however, I was alerted by negative reviews 2 years ago about my predecessors staying in it - about dirt in the bathrooms, rudeness of staff, fungus, etc.
Friends, I don’t know how anyone managed it before, but now everything is completely different.
On the part of the attendants (the administrator and those on duty on the floor), there was only politeness, understanding of requests and courtesy in relation to me. My room (and the bathroom shared with the next room) was clean. The bed linen was new and there were plenty of towels. The fact that the furniture in the room was far from new and the wallpaper, in places, hung from the walls in small pieces, and a cement floor peeked out from under the torn linoleum (although this gap was covered with a rug) - well, it didn’t matter to me. I had to spend the night in my life in places in comparison with which all this was sheer nonsense.

The TV was quite modern and worked properly. The room was not stuffy, despite the Kharkiv +38. True, there was no shower as such in the bathroom: in the opposite corner from the washbasin and WC there was a pipe with taps, a pipe and a siphon, and there was no fence. Because of what, in the process, the entire other available area of u200bu200bthe bathroom is doused with water. But for me, again, this was not a problem. Plumbing is not new, but not old, not "broken".
In general - you can live there and it's not even bad!
If you are not choosy and you are tight with money - feel free to stop at the "Express"!
