Every summer I have at least a little rest at the recreation center "Metro" and, believe me, I know the maximum about it that anyone in my place could know!
The recreation center "Metro" is located in the village of Letki, Brovarsky district, Kiev region.
Two rivers flow in the village of Letki: Desna and Lyubich, on the banks of which there are about 13 different recreation centers.
The base "Metro" is located on the banks of the Desna River.
Immediately outside the territory of the base there is a picturesque meadow with a small lake.
I adore Letki for awesome air and stars. . .
Let me introduce you to the base in just a few points:
1) At the recreation center "Metro" the following rooms for accommodation:
- up to 4.2-room apartments in cottages (with private facilities (kitchen, washbasin, toilet));
- a new 4-storey building with 2-room suites (with amenities: toilet, bathroom with shower (hot water twice a day));
- an old 3-storey building with single rooms and amenities (kitchen, washbasin, toilet) for several rooms.
2) The recreation center "Metro" was and is the best among the usual bases, perhaps even the whole of Ukraine: these are far from smelly houses on chicken legs : ))).
3) Today the base is equipped for recreation. The base has:
- own, fenced (partly protected) territory;
- own uninterrupted water supply;
- dining room with 3 meals a day;
- a first-aid post with a physical room;
- private beach on the Desna river;
- a large playground;
- tennis/volleyball court;
- a lot of beautiful, well-groomed alleys, benches, flowerbeds, meadows, gazebos...
. . . Interruptions, perhaps, happen with electricity - however, this is the fault of the district.
4) Previously, only employees of the Kiev Metro with their families rested at the base.
By this (2008) year, most of the rooms have been given for "export", that is, preference is given to "foreign" vacationers, since they are charged an unrealistic sky-high price for the rest (from 2500 to 8000 UAH for 2 weeks with 3 meals a day) , while metro employees pay from 800 UAH. up to 2000 UAH for the same period under the same conditions).
. . . It was a story about where and how you can spend a pleasant 2-week vacation, without moving too far from Kyiv, for only 1.5 thousand bucks. . .
