It so happened that in August we stayed at the Irena Hotel twice in rooms of different categories. Now you can compare the amenities in the rooms and average the level of service.
First glance - double standard (number 22).
Our train was still approaching Lviv when they called back from the hotel reception and specified the time of settlement. There were few things, so having arrived one stop on the tram, we crossed to a parallel street and walked to the hotel, 15 minutes and we were there. The hotel is located 300 meters from the railway station, but is separated from it by a diesel locomotive repair plant, so the “bypass” is about 1.5 km. The hotel is located in the old part of the city, during the day the road does not present any difficulty, but in the evening it is creepy, there are practically no passers-by, so you need to take a taxi (fortunately, the center is not far away).

We were greeted warmly, checked in no more than 5 minutes, paid for the stay with a card - very convenient. There is no elevator, it is not very convenient to lift things up the stairs, but the doorman literally grabbed the suitcase and carried it to the door of the room. We opened the door, he helpfully showed the room and said that the price includes two bottles of mineral water, purified fresh water in the kettle, tea bags and sugar. Drinks, beer, small "snacks" in the fridge bar for an additional fee.
The room is just lovely and more than worth the price. Large hallway where we left the suitcase. From the hallway entrance to the toilet room. Shower, plumbing, hair dryer and other equipment in excellent condition. The entrance hall leads to the kitchen, where there is a kitchen table with a built-in refrigerator, a microwave oven, an electric kettle, a sink, a hanging cupboard with crockery and cutlery. Everything is clean, in good condition, well maintained. From the hallway there is a door to the living room. The room has two armchairs, a chair, two beds, a round table, a chest of drawers, a large mirror, TV, air conditioning. Bed linen and towels are clean and in good condition.
At the reception we ordered a taxi (we had an early departure the next day) and agreed on breakfast at an earlier time. Breakfast in the morning at 715. Food without pickles, but quite enough to get a boost of energy (you can choose the main course from the menu). After 15 minutes, the receptionist came up for breakfast and said that the taxi was waiting. They helped us carry our luggage to the taxi. 30 UAH, 7 minutes and we are at the railway station - in a good mood continued our journey.
Second look - double junior suite (number 27).

Two weeks later, at about eight in the evening, we drove up to Lvov, tired, but very pleased with the trip. We ordered a taxi to the railway station in advance (of the things we added a suitcase and a large bag). 25 UAH, 5 minutes and we are there. In a taxi, the hotel receptionist called on his mobile phone and specified the time of our check-in. Another 5 minutes of formalities, paid for the room and went to check in. There was no one to help lift things up the stairs; you could see the porter only works during the day. Slowly, they moved everything on their own. On the way, we drank the entire supply of water, but there was no way to buy it, we hoped that we would drink at the hotel - but there was no mineral water, the kettle was empty, we had to sip beer from the bar. I will not repeat myself, everything is basically the same. The only difference is the slightly larger living room, which is occupied by a sofa bed. Faced with a purely national rebus. It was hot on the road, stuffy in the room, and the AC power cord had already been pulled out of the socket. There were no problems, but the outlet is 10 centimeters from the ceiling. I had to put up a circus pyramid of tables, chairs, armchairs in order to reach the outlet. And the main surprise was prepared for bed. There were outdoor units of air conditioners installed on the wall, to which the beds adjoined, especially the air conditioner of the hotel bar, which must have been working around the clock, vibrated. It was very difficult to sleep even though we were tired. Spent the night in this room for two nights very problematic.
A small episode - when they moved out, they forgot a bag of cookies in the closet. Before we had time to go down to the first floor, the maid came running after us with a package. Things were left in the storage room. When they came to pick up things, there was a bottle of shampoo nearby, which we did not want to take with us and left in the shower. Therefore, if you do not want to take something, put it in the trash. And further. Taxi to the railway to the station from the hotel ordered in advance by a certain time, for a fare of 17 UAH. So how much is the fare 30-25-17?
Summary: the hotel is very good, the conditions are quite good, the staff is friendly. Convenient location - near the railway. railway station, near the city center. Beware of number 27 (maybe there are more similar numbers). You should not overpay, the comfort of the rooms (by type 22) will satisfy all your requirements. Stayed at this hotel three times, I think not the last time.
