We had a rest in the Pelican that in Nikolaevka, since 5.07. 17 to 15.07. 17.
We knew that this was a deaf village without entertainment, even without a fruit market, so it did not surprise us.
In local shops you can buy beer, chips, ice cream, a maximum of hearts. On the beach you will not hear: "honey baklava", "boiled corn" - there are no beach sellers here)
Water slides, bananas too)

There is no road to Nikolaevka too!
From the bay pit to pit (40 km drove more than an hour)
We planned to go somewhere on an excursion, but we are not ready to cross that section of the road once again (

Now about the basics.
Chosen "Pelican" because of the location. This hotel is located closer to the sea in Nikolaevka, in the first line.
As it turned out, the room was booked by the owner Olga Petrovna.

Took a junior suite with an extra bed for 4 people: two adults and 2 children (5 years and 9 months). Price for 1 day 1150 UAH without food. The price is quite high. More precisely, it is too high for this level of hotel, because it has many disadvantages.
Clean only after you remind. We cleaned for the first time on the 4th day with the words: what do you want to wipe the floor?
The toilet was washed after a separate reminder on the 5th day of rest, toilet paper was also brought after the reminder.
Although the owner said on the phone that they have to clean every day ...But the workers are in no hurry to do so.
For 3 beds gave 1 normal blanket in a duvet cover and 2 blankets of dubious freshness with sheets. The administrator refused to replace them with blankets, and after the call the owner found at least duvets.
The windows have a mosquito net, but the windows themselves do not open for ventilation, only completely.
Each room has a balcony with a plastic table and 2 chairs, as well as a clothes dryer.
We had a balcony overlooking the sea, although the view was marred by a rusty water tower (
The hotel area is abandoned. Grass is not mown.
More precisely, the worker mows every day for a couple of square meters in the morning (it takes him an hour for about 30 minutes) and goes to rest. After mowing the grass near the foot tap without removing it, the grass killed the downpour and for a couple of days people washed their feet in a puddle (
The playground is very old, the swing is still Soviet. For those there is a trampoline.
The owner promised that before our arrival the pool will work. But she cheated. The pool is still being completed by a single employee. It can be completed by autumn)

There are only 2 gazebos and 8 sun loungers for the entire hotel.

There is no Internet in "Pelican"! More precisely, there is a wi-fi network, but it is almost impossible to connect to it, it constantly throws out.

The kitchen is a separate topic.
Comprehensive food costs 210 UAH per day.
The regime is very strange, considering that many children have a rest here. Lunch at 2 pm, the hour when children sleep for lunch (

Portions are very small, the dishes are not always tasty (Porridge is cooked for breakfast with goat's milk, rice is served undercooked.
Although the base is by the sea, fishermen come from the sea every day, fish was not on the menu (((
That year we had a rest in the next base "Laguna", then there portions are twice bigger and tastier, and cheaper.
The chef often smokes, not only on the street, but allows himself to enter the kitchen with a cigarette.
And the rest of the workers sit all day and smoke in front of the kitchen in the cold.
But they have time to knock down money from customers!
The owner said by phone that firewood for the barbecue is included in the room rate, but when they asked the workers for firewood, they heard: "pay half a penny, we will not stab you for free" (

The bottom line is that Pelican lacks the firm hand to put workers in their place to get the job done! The location of the hotel is great, the area also allows you to make it a very attractive place, it would be a wish!
Therefore, you need to either reduce the price and continue to degrade, or roll up your sleeves and work! ! ! ! !
