We arrived in Odessa early in the morning and the taxi driver took me and my daughter (8 years old) to the "inter-flight base of sailors". Because the hour was early (about 6), everything was closed and we couldn’t get inside the room and we had to sit on the bench until 8 o’clock in the morning. And then the settlement began. We were first offered a room in which the water in the tap did not close and there was no watering can on the shower, and all the furniture was in a terrible state. When I bought a ticket, I was warned that the amenities would be "soviet", but the price was appropriate. In general, after half a day of ordeals, we were given a more or less decent room in which everything worked (faucets, refrigerator, light, sockets and the balcony closed). The dining room is nearby and it was a real dining room of the Soviet period. It's good that my daughter loves buckwheat porridge, so we, in principle, ate at least something, and other vacationers went to eat in other places. And it turned out on the second day of the stay a big plus about which no one mentioned in the travel agency and during the check-in. It turns out that the cost of the voucher already includes sanatorium treatment, which, of course, we did not hesitate to use. Well, not so hot what kind of treatment, but still massage, baths, oxygen cocktails and physiotherapy, my daughter and I went through. I would like to say special thanks to the pediatrician and nurses of the building. They were at their best when my daughter fell ill with a terrible sore throat. They were very friendly and responsive, even the prescribed medicines were given out and the doctor came all the time.
The "base of sailors" itself is located in the center of Odessa, next to Arcadia. On the territory there is a small old park, a playground. The beach could be reached on foot or 2 tram stops. It is also close to the city center, but I specifically chose a place where you can freely go to the city for a walk and see the sights. Huge construction was carried out nearby, and now, probably, there are a lot more hotels in Odessa and there are places to stay.
