We rested in the Crimean Primorye in August 2008, in a room with partial conveniences in a building right on the seashore (I don’t remember the number). The room had 3 single beds, 3 bedside tables, wardrobe and sink, north facing balcony overlooking the park. At first I somewhat regretted that we did not have a view of the sea, but the very next day I was very glad that we got the northern room - there are no air conditioners in this building, it was insanely stuffy and hot in the southern rooms, everyone opened the doors wide open so that at least somehow ventilate, and in the northern rooms it was cooler than on the street. So in that regard, we are lucky. The furniture, of course, was still Soviet, but, in principle, this never bothered us, especially since we spent most of the time outside the room. The main disadvantage was in the "partial amenities" - the toilet and shower were on the floor, hot water 2 times a day, at this time a queue lined up for the shower. There was also a broken window in the shower, so sometimes there was a draft - sometimes standing in line for a shower, when all the really “hot” water was already running out, you had to rinse with cold under a draft. Needless to say, after one of these "extreme" showers, I caught a cold. But in the boarding house there is a medical center where a good doctor works, which, in principle, is important when choosing a place to stay.
The maid came every morning... at 7-8 o'clock. Attempts to explain to her that we have breakfast at 9.30 and before 9 we do not get up were unsuccessful. Even when we got up and asked her to come back later, we still couldn’t fall asleep again, because we could hear her knocking on other doors and talking to other staff through the entire corridor... Linen was changed once in 20 days, but it would be better not changed... It was like this: at 7.30, as usual, there was a persistent knock on the door, I just got sick and shouted to come in later. “No, I need to change my underwear, right now! ” I got up with difficulty, took off the linen from the bed, carried it out to the maid into the corridor, she took it away and went to clean another room. “But what about clean linen? Let me make it myself now, ” I said. “Clean? It will be only at 10 "So, 8 in the morning, 1.5 hours before breakfast, I'm sick and not getting enough sleep, I can't even lie down on the bed, because I don't feel like lying on the mattress, covered with strange stains... As a result, we went for a walk, returned around 5 pm - the promised linen lay in a folded pile on the bed. But when I unrolled one of the sheets, there were streaks of dirt on it. When I went downstairs to the administrator with this sheet and asked to change it, I heard in response that it was already 5 o’clock and all the maids had left, and the supply manager had also left, so no one could help me. And in general, “this is not dirt, they are clean, it is so - dust from the shelves where it lay. Lay the “dirty” end at your feet and sleep peacefully. ” The sheet was replaced the next day by the maid, after 3 more reminders… So there are big problems with the service…
The sea is warm and good, but several times there were “invasions” of jellyfish, they are harmless, but you swim like in jelly.

The beach is large-pebbly, in some places there are large boulders, so at first it was difficult to enter the water, but then we somehow got the hang of it. You can dive from the breakwater. Fox Bay is located a few kilometers away, there is an amazing small-pebble beach, but for many years there has been a nudist camping site, but the beach is quite long, so you can find deserted places, places with "vacationers in swimsuits. " You can walk there along the beach for 3-3.5 kilometers, or get there by boat - representatives of tour agencies sit along the beach, from whom you can find out everything. Last year, a boat could take you to Fox Bay and back (just say what time to return for you) for 100 UAH, i. e. the more people go, the cheaper - look for more people who want to. We went four of us, it turned out to be 25 UAH per person . In general, there are quite a lot of excursions, the choice is large. We went on a two-hour horse ride to the lake with swimming, went to Kerch, where I was shocked by the Adzhimushkay quarries, to Sudak (you can go there on an excursion to the Genoese fortress, or you can go to the water park) and to the New World (this is generally one of the most beautiful places of Crimea, however, quite badly spoiled by the irresponsibility of the tourism industry). Near the boarding house there is a biostation with a dolphinarium and an "oceanarium" - several rooms with aquariums along the walls, where for a modest fee you can see the inhabitants of the Black Sea. You can also walk along the Kara-Dag nature reserve. The reserve is an ancient extinct volcano Kara-Dag with the adjacent territory, you can go there with a group on an excursion, or you can order an individual one and go exactly where you want, and not along the paths (but this is not quite legal, you also need to ask representatives tour desk on the beach). We ordered an individual one (it cost about 200 UAH), went early in the morning and met the dawn on Kara-Dag - unforgettable! We also went on a boat to the foot of Kara-Dag with swimming in the open sea near the Golden Gate, also amazing memories)))) But it’s better to go on this excursion at 5 pm - then the Golden Gate really becomes golden.
Now about food - the price includes three meals a day, custom-made. This means that you are offered a menu with 3 options for appetizers, first and second courses, from which you can choose what you want to eat in two days. The problem is that for 20 days the options have not changed much. That is, for breakfast, as the first course, you could choose either a carrot casserole, or oatmeal, or cottage cheese. Even carrot lovers did not eat carrot casserole, but even alternating oatmeal with cottage cheese, after 20 days you hate both. But worse for those who hate both oatmeal and carrots...
The place is quite quiet, without night discos, in the evening there is nowhere to go.
But, if you are looking for silence and beautiful nature, love oatmeal and you are not embarrassed by the monotonous food, unpretentious in terms of living conditions, then it is quite possible to have a good rest there.
