Vacation Tips
Hello, I am a native of the village. Solotvina, I accidentally came to ask for reviews about my native village . .
Tip number 1 Come at the beginning of the season, then the lake is rested, clean and pleasant, not so many people.
* Tip number 2 If you come to hang out and walk all night long, check in houses or guest houses on the lake itself, there is music, dancing, noise. And I can’t get away from this, I live nearby and sometimes I can’t sleep, but be careful with the locals, no matter how it is, but the people are really greyhounds (not all of course)
*Tip number 3 Another thing is if you came with your family or wanted to relax like in a sanatorium, then check in near the lake in private sectors where you will have amenities and a shower and a kitchen and friendly people who are ready to clean your shoes for your money (you know, during the season, women stand at the bus stop with signs I rent rooms cheaply, they are ready to fight for clients, for them it is a profit, it is in their interests that you come again and check in with them) so the choice of conditions is huge and INEXPENSIVE!
Tip No. 4 There is also a hotel with the Ribnik restaurant, just not everyone knows about it, they just completed it not long ago, it is located in a quiet place with wonderful nature around (ask any resident they will show you where to go) the prices seem to be normal, the kitchen is just class, and service is friendly. From the lake 15 minutes walk. Look in the net.
*Tip #5 Kids! Do not let the children go anywhere alone, especially watch them on the roads, do not climb onto the pedestrian crossing, it is better to let the car pass and calmly cross the road. Well, people here do not know how to use the crossing. do not go, only long-distance passing.
*Tip number 6 If you have already arrived, I advise you to visit the Koliba Restaurant, it is located in the village of Grushevo, literally 15 km from Solotvyno. Insanely delicious barbecue and local cuisine, and desserts and service and prices =)
Tip number 7 Do not be too lazy to read articles about the salt mine, unfortunately it is flooded, and no one is doing anything . . I don’t even know who to blame, but I’m very sorry, there are few such mines in Europe, we are losing such a treasure . . =(So if you can go to lakes and salt water, you can visit salt rooms and inhalations in a sanatorium. There are hotels on the lake where water is poured into the pool directly from the mine, that is, clean directly from the mines.
Tip number 8 If you get better from Lviv by train Lviv-Solotvyno (take coupe tickets, it’s more expensive for a penny but at least cleaner than a reserved seat), or a bus (Get out of the railway and there will be cash desks immediately to the left) when traveling by bus you will get about 8mi an hour tour of the Carpathians, you go to the tops of the mountains, everything is in full view, souvenirs along the way, everything is so natural and beautiful and at any time of the year. So I advise connoisseurs of virgin nature, the main thing is to score a seat by the window =) . . to Uzhgorod and there by minibus, 3 hours and you are in Solotvyno =) And do not forget to walk at least a little bit around Lviv, there is something to see there, but it is best to find it on the net and rent an apartment by the way inexpensively . . and take a walk in the evening Lviv .
I hope the tips of a local resident will help you =) And you will like the rest in Solotvyno, whatever it is, we are proud of it and hope that someone will finally pay attention and restore the mines. The Carpathians are very beautiful in both winter and summer, there are many picturesque places . . Please contact if what. . =)
