The last vacation in the Carpathians for our couple turned out to be quite negative. We left vacation for the first time with the feeling that we no longer want to return there. And there are several reasons for that. First of all, because of the dishonesty of the local population in Vorokhta, where we were.

The fact that it would be good to spend the New Year outside of Kiev came to mind in November. The idea of the Carpathians came because: a) the previous experience near Rakhiv at the Edelweiss camp site left the brightest impressions; b) my husband had not been to the Carpathians before, I really wanted to show him this beauty. Many hours of calling normal camps did not work: everything was dismantled. But I learned a couple of rooms in the private sector, where guests were needed. We agreed with the owner Igor that on December 30 we will come together, rent a separate room for 200 UAH per day. With TV, with amenities on the floor, no meals.

Called 5 times in two months, I asked if anything had changed. Immediately and the day before his arrival, he asked the question: will the passage room be suitable for us? There could be no doubt: “Of course not! ».

On December 30, the first "surprise" was that Vorokhta is not "half an hour's drive from Ivano-Frankivsk, " as the owner said, but more than 100 km away. And minibuses do not go "continuously changing one another", but with an interval of an hour and a half or two. Given the influx of people before the New Year, for the next four hours everything was sold out, and the standing places were stormed. I had to take a taxi for 280 UAH.

In Vorokhta, no one met us at the specified place. And in the hut there was a second surprise. It turns out that the room that was intended for us has already been handed over. There was a checkpoint, which we had already refused by phone. Contrary to the contract - without a TV. But these are flowers!

It turns out that people who would sleep in the next soft corner still had to drive up to it… “Gentlemen, do you have any complaints about me? "- The owner fell on a fool.

When he realized that we "have" claims, he called a relative Galya, whom he persuaded to accept stubborn guests. We got to that Gali - she has at least the rooms we agreed on with Igor, everything is fine. The heating is stove, so when the owner opened the stove, it became warm.

But there was another problem: no electricity. Rather, the networks can not withstand such voltage, and the electrician is constantly knocked out. And all their communications are connected to electricity. So with it the water disappears (there is nowhere to even wash your hands), and the opportunity to cook.

The owners keep a cottage that the company rented from them for a few days for $ 150 a day. So there is electric heating. And in the yard it was up to - minus 20 degrees.

Maybe someone didn't like that we called the Hutsuls unscrupulous, but we don't understand how you can rent a cottage to people for 150 yrs. e. per day without heat, water, light for the New Year?

The owners made amazed eyes in response: who knew, we didn't have such a light before! As it turned out: brazenly lying! This is not their first year of such a story in the winter. And, interestingly, the residents of several neighborhoods (at least, for the rest we can not say, did not find out) - the same story.

The next trick was in food. For a fee, you could order from the hostess three times for 50 UAH per day per person (if once - 15 UAH per person). We had cold soup, potatoes and cutlet for dinner on the first evening (there is nothing to warm up).

In the morning we had a "chic" breakfast: pasta with chops. All would be fine, but the hostess prepared it early in the morning, going to work and while we went down, the pasta was completely covered with crust. The light came on - we had time to warm up.

And then it was knocked out again, tea can not be boiled. I had to chew dry (cucumbers, tomatoes or something else they did not provide for tourists).

Despite all this, we ventured to order breakfast again. This attempt turned out to be the last one, because instead of buckwheat with meat agreed the day before, we were left with five tiny cabbage rolls left over from the host's dinner (instead of meat - lard, instead of rice - buckwheat, haha, we ordered it !!! ! And uncooked cabbage, solid) and dried boiled potatoes, all this - generously sprinkled with cracklings.

You think we're such fools, right? - again in the same river and for their own money? In fact, in this Vorokhta "savages" have almost nowhere to eat. There are only 6-7 establishments, proudly claiming the title of "cafe". About five o'clock in the morning, a drunkard sits down, the smoke from the smoke is a rocker - and it's scary to feed a dog, not something to eat yourself.

And only two of them are not afraid to go and eat. But they have a total of about a hundred seats for thousands as hungry as we are. And the hostess's house is, as you know, not opposite the institution, but half an hour's walk. Here and run, have breakfast, if you have time. And also try to have lunch or dinner, if the table is not booked in advance… At the same time, one of the establishments after 17.30 to accept orders for food from new visitors stops in principle: they close, because the staff is time to run home, feed tourists.

They would like to row grandmothers - people only come down from the mountains hungry, with money, but… We did not understand the mysterious Hutsul soul!

In the end, of course, we were happy with the fabulously beautiful mountains and snow-covered Christmas trees, steep descents and the New Year. But - again but! - our optimistically uplifted, in spite of everything, spoiled the mood of the owner.

Gulfing his eyes since the morning, Vasyl spent two days trying to explain to us what bad guests we are. 1. They fell like snow on their heads, while other people have been ordering seats since September! 2. Occupied them, master rooms (arbitrarily, or what !!?? ), While other people pay 150 bucks for a cottage! 3. Moreover, we do not order snowmobiles from his godfather for 100 bucks per hour! Yes, that's such a disgrace.

When the "intelligent and silent" guests lost patience after his two-day tirade on the subject, we waited for an apology. For everything at once! True, it was clear from the people that they did not understand why they apologized, but just in case.

In general, these are the features of the national winter vacation. Do you want to repeat? Then call Igor from Ivan Franko Street in Vorokhta, he will send you to Gale. And extreme in the Carpathians is provided for you!
