We flew with Focus Asia, there were no problems. True, the transfer from Saigon to Phan Thiet takes almost 5 hours, there are 210 km of roads, but the traffic is very busy, and constantly in settlements. There are VERY many mopeds in Saigon, out of 8 million people, 7 million ride mopeds.
In Phan Thiet, we stayed at the Muine De Century Beach Resort & Spa.
The service was unexpectedly good. We lived in a villa by the sea, right next to the restaurant. The rooms are clean, with a full set of necessary little things (toothpaste, brush, ear cleaners, comb, slippers and even an umbrella, etc. ). There are tea-set accessories on the table: tea bags, coffee, sugar and water are free of charge and are replenished every day. The mini bar is very humane in terms of prices. The room is cleaned and towels are changed every day from 8 am. The only negative is the lack of sun loungers on the beach, there are really few of them.
The breakfasts are very good - fresh juices, fruits, sushi, scrambled eggs (optional mix - an omelette with vegetables and ham), spaghetti, soups, potatoes - there is a lot of food, and it's all delicious.
We usually ate fresh seafood in cafes on the waterfront, if you leave the hotel, turn left, then after 3 km there will be a number of cafes. One of the most famous VOKE, a lot of people and I really did not like the service. Starting with waiters who you can’t call, there is nowhere to wash your hands, nowhere to put garbage from the same seafood. The second point - it's dark there, so the change must be counted very carefully - having a snack for 10 dollars, the waiter "took himself" - 15, because I didn't realize. Then, of course, he returned it, but the sediment remained. Two cafes further there is a cafe with red lanterns. They speak English and Russian. There the service is better - wet wipes, water for washing hands after eating, plates for garbage. Lobster is served with a free vegetable salad, shrimp is served with rice . A trifle, but very pleasant. Prices are normal everywhere - 1 kg of shrimp - $ 12 (these are those that we sell as large), large (by their standards) - $ 20. Lobster - $ 24 per kg. Rice, salads for 2-3 dollars.
There is a Forest restaurant in the center, the prices there are twice as high, but the atmosphere is worth it and very tasty. There is live music in the evenings, and a lot of dishes that are not on the waterfront (snakes, frogs, etc. ).
We tried to eat in other establishments in the center - not tasty, it seems not expensive, but somewhere everything is too spicy, somewhere just bland food.
Other than these two places, I can't recommend anything else.

In Dalat, they bought for $ 70 for two - they did not get a group, they offered us to go to an individual one. After returning from the excursion, it turned out that not 10, but 90, because the individual costs 80 per person, and discounts due to the fact that there were two of us, and not one, as an individual tour suggests, was not. Okay, I attributed it to my carelessness, we decided to order a second one - to Mount Taku to the white Buddha. $ 25 per person. They tell me that there will be a Jeep, and a driver who will tell us everything. The jeep is our Bobby, which has just left the fields (in terms of cleanliness and brokenness of the car), and the driver who does not know any language other than Vietnamese. What he was going to tell us is a mystery : )
We arrived at the travel agency, they said that we want to go with a group and a guide. It turned out the group is also in a jeep, that is, 4 passengers and a guide in the trunk!! ! With the fight they returned 40 dollars, 10 - they removed it as a penalty. We went to a neighboring travel agency - the next day, the two of us, with a guide in a minibus, were taken to Mount Taku and to the Chams, for the same money! Agency "Smile", checked on several more tourists from our hotel - no complaints.
For all the Buddhas, I recommend wearing something that will cover your knees, after all, these are their temples, tourists in short shorts do not look very nice : ) You can take pictures almost everywhere, they make a discount for tourists. An interesting whale temple, Cham temples, and the 49-meter Buddha itself are almost 400 steps up, but very beautiful.
In Dalat - definitely something warmer than a T-shirt - it is to the north, and in the afternoon it is cool there - a windbreaker on a T-shirt would not be superfluous. And yet, the road there is 55 km of serpentine!! ! pills for motion sickness would be very useful, they do not always warn, because they are used to, and cackle at the tourists who are motion sick. I have a very good vestibule, I have been driving a car for many years, but "the steep hills rocked Sivka" : )
Pearls are worth buying in Phan Thiet - they are cheap there, silk - in Saigon, tea, coffee - in Dalat (although they took milk olong - this is green tea, with an interesting milky flavor, but at home it turned out - that in packs it’s just good green tea, it’s worth it is $6 per pack, why there was a different taste at the tasting - I don’t know, but I called up other tourists who also tried it and took it - the opinions are the same). They took their tiger ointment in Phan Thiet - like our asterisk, a very good remedy for colds, and not only, the range of application is quite wide - in general, you should pay attention to their ointments and rubbing - there is something in this (I am a skeptic, but even that was pleasantly surprised, pulled my mother out of bronchitis).
There were two days in Saigon with included tours of the city and the Mekong Delta. We lived in the Oscar Hotel - everything is very decent. When settling in a hotel, agree on the presence of windows in the room, if this is important to you. Half of the rooms have no windows. In the city center there is a market, and on two parallel streets - a number of shopping centers - in the evening there is where to take a walk. BUT! Cross the road without a traffic light very clearly, no throwing back and forth, the traffic is terrible! See the gap in the mopedists and go ahead. They will eat you. They drive according to some mysterious rules : ), but I saw only a few accidents, despite such chaos. I liked everything about the tours. Such "immersion in the people" is very sobering, and helps to re-evaluate many things. You are amazed at many aspects of their life, at least how they survive in such unsanitary conditions : ). I don't want to go back there, but I have to go there once!
