The building itself is old and does not seem to know the word renovation from the very beginning. The rooms, despite the good area, are in a deplorable state - all the furniture is shabby, the walls and ceilings are stained, the plumbing is kept on parole.
However, these are trifles... on the very first day, the employee of the "restaurant" (in my opinion, the Soviet catering is 100 times cooler) showed me the family, which, according to him, stole the entire supply of dates and cheese. Obviously seeing me as a pleasant conversationalist, the next day he led me to an elderly woman, took her bag and said that here she was, trying to pull off two packages of cheese. I had to explain to the guardian of capitalist property that he should first of all be an assistant and friend to tourists. the next room was undergoing renovations and the workers did not care about the inconvenience for the guests. On the last day, after breakfast, the manager called us quite emotionally - it turns out that we have exhausted the limit on this lean meal and demanded payment. after long squabbles, they finally figured out that we hadn’t overate, I once again said that it’s not customary to treat tourists like that, the manager explained to me that this hotel will always be bad for Russians. well if in general:
1. the rooms are old and dirty. our room was not cleaned for two days and probably would not have been cleaned at all without inviting the cleaner personally.
2. food - for lunch you will be given one type of meat and it will be chicken, maximum two side dishes. and do not try to pull off something larger than a toothpick.
3. staff - this is a hotel for those who like to have their feet wiped on them.
4. there is no bus to the beach, instead of a pool - only an aquarium.
5. as a plus - a convenient location, but I'd better take a walk next time. another plus is the practice of English, no one will talk to you in Russian, well, they don’t like Russian speakers.

First time abroad. No shock. The hotel fully corresponds to the declared star rating. Small, homely. The rooms are not new but clean. They clean and change towels every day. Fed decently-fresh vegetables and meat always. The location is not very good: there are shops with spare parts and a construction site nearby.

Fed decently-fresh vegetables and meat always. The location is not very good: there are shops with spare parts and a construction site nearby. But this does not interfere. They only came to the hotel to sleep. No pool, sauna or iron. But there is dry cleaning and laundry. One cafe. They ate and ate breakfast there. Internet, billiards and two exercise machines in the lobby. But there is no time to deal with them. The beach is gorgeous (entry 40 rubles). Visit as many excursions as possible.

I will explain why - it is stated that the hotel is located on Rigga Road (this fact influenced my choice - I was in Dubai for the third time and I knew this street). So, the hotel is located not far from Rigga Road, namely in a slum district (it’s hard to explain even to taxi drivers, we just took a taxi to the metro and walked, fortunately nearby), there are some spare parts shops around, dirty Pakistani Indians, at night I heard music and by no means DanBalan's hits - apparently there are "business places" nearby (for prostitutes). The people in Egypt have not seen such poverty-dirt everywhere! The rooms are similar to the pictures, but the pictures do not show the shabby bathroom and the dirty, stained window in it, the dust in the folds of the lampshade. But the most impressive for me turned out to be - COCKROACHES, I killed 15 of them in a week, half of them are adults (cockroaches like Russian, not Egyptian beetles). Moreover, the corpses of dead cockroaches lying on the carpet under the door were never removed (it seems that no one tried to vacuum my single 2m by 2m). Linen poorly washed - stained (but judging by the changing stains, they changed it often - almost every day).
I appreciated the food for the sake of formality - I ate only on the day of arrival (lunch), Rigga is full of restaurants, so why choke?
Oh, and one more thing, they take your passport at the reception - they give it back when you check out, for me - it's so uncivil!! ! All normal hotels make a deposit (they take bucks or block a certain amount on a bank card). Maybe free 100 dollars is more important for you, but without a passport you feel like some kind of guest worker (by the way, you don’t need to carry it with you, you can have a copy - sometimes ID is asked at the entrance to a nightclub).
P. S. Prior to this visit, I stayed at the Jumeirah Rotana, Towers Rotana and Emirates Grand Hotel. The latter is highly recommended (newly built, rooms are awesome studios, located on Sheikh Zayed Road next to the metro), and unlike my dearly beloved Rotan is much cheaper. The choice of hotel is up to you, but my advice to you is to overpay and find something more decent (it's worth it). Have a nice holiday!
