In September, I had the opportunity to go to the Emirates - to combine business meetings and leisure. Most of my stay fell on Ramadan. I celebrate the end of Ramadan in the UAE like we do - Christmas - they go with my family somewhere to the sea for a few days off.
My friend and I decided to follow suit and go to Fujairah. Since we made the decision late, we were faced with the fact that there were few rooms left and the price was quite high. Chose between Le Meridien and Iberotel. In the end, we settled on Iberotel - we decided to take the "standard", and upon arrival to upgrade the category.
We've arrived. It turned out that in addition to the cost indicated on the website, we had to pay another 20% tax (on the websites of other hotels, this information was written in prominent places, and Iberotel decided to cheat). Okay, we'll pay. They asked to upgrade the room category and after 15 minutes they persuaded the manager to do it. While we waited for the room to be cleaned, we went to have dinner.

Dinner. Amazing! Very good food. There was even alcohol (I note that alcohol is not served during Ramadan. In any case, in Dubai. And here such luck! ). One thing to note - both men and women are not allowed to enter the restaurant with bare knees and shoulders. Due to insufficiently long trousers, my companion was given trousers specially prepared for such cases.
Room. Being in an excellent mood, we went to look at the promised room. They came. The interior is not particularly luxurious and, to be honest, the bedspread on the bed and on the sofa had some kind of shabby look. Tulle in some red small spots in places. Okay, let's not pay attention. Quickly went to the balcony, wanting to see or see the promised ocean....bummer. A mound is visible (there is something like an embankment, i. e. there is no direct view of the pool), a wall on the right and, if you turn your head, then the neighbor's balcony on the left. The neighbor sits on a chair and looks thoughtfully into the distance. I ask "Mister, where is the ocean? " he waved his hand to the right - there, they say....in short, the ocean is not visible (((
After that, it was decided to go to Meridien at your own peril and risk.
Later, when we decided to walk along the beach and entered the territory of the Iberotel, we realized that there can be no real ocean view except in villas that stand directly above the beach (and cost from 5 thousand USD per night) - the hotel consists of two-story buildings, which are quite far removed from the ocean. Like this.
Summary: I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. Very beautiful architecture of the hotel in Moroccan style. It's just that because of my capriciousness (3 hours of a trip in a car changed my worldview not for the better), I wanted the ocean and the sound of the surf. And about tulle bedspreads, I can’t confidently say that this is the case everywhere - it just happened to us. So everything is super - you can go and I think you will not regret
