From 07/14/2011 to 07/22/2011 we were on the "Rest in the Land of the Gods" tour. The organization was really at the lowest level, I can't help but agree with alissaa. I have traveled a lot before with other tour operators, so I have something to compare with. Let's start with the fact that during the group gathering in Kyiv, the guide's phone was turned off, in our case (we were late) this became a problem. The bus is not at all comfortable, the air conditioning leaves much to be desired, especially considering the moment of the 36-hour journey in the July heat. Plus, it broke down, having driven literally 150 kilometers from Kyiv, we stood for half an hour in the heat - it was unbearable! Along the way, the guides did not inform the group about our location at all, did not tell us about the history of countries, customs and much more, which is necessary in group tours. But we must pay tribute to the drivers, they took the work of guides on themselves, defusing the situation a little. Special thanks to them for this!
Arriving in Halkidiki, all the difficulties of our move were forgotten, since the villa was quite cozy and tidy, the beach is very close, the staff is polite and helpful, they are credited!)))) That is, the rest in Greece was excellent!
On the way from the excursion to Meteora, our air conditioner broke down - it was terrible! The guides were silent again, not trying to calm the group. There were no problems with the rest of the excursions, thank God! And in general we were satisfied.
The tour is not well thought out in general, in the sense that in 36 hours of travel it would be possible to make a stop in Romania. Let's say you stop in Bucharest, organize a sightseeing tour of the capital, overnight at a hotel, and leave for Greece in the morning after breakfast. And, of course, organize speaking guides!!!
Once again I will return to our bus, so to speak, to the most important nightmare from the memories of our journey. Well, about the air conditioner, or rather about its absence, I have already said. The glass from the side of our seats was with huge cracks, which was not very pleasing during such a long road. In one of the seats, a nail stuck out in the back, and the girl had to constantly make something like a pillow so that he would not scratch her back, however, the drivers quickly solved this problem. But it's still not very pleasant that the bus was not prepared for the trip initially.
To sum up, magnificent Greece compensated for everything, I highly recommend everyone to visit this country, but next time I would like to get there more comfortably with professional and responsive guides!
I hope my review will be useful for future tourists to the country of the Gods! And the tour operator will prevent such mistakes!
