Here we are in Bulgaria! We chose the Planet Hotel in Sunny Beach (Solvex company). We rested in this hotel from 24.07. 2012 to 03.08. 2012. As you can read from all the previous reviews - the hotel is, of course, very beautiful. There are mirrors and paintings everywhere. Check in was very fast, less than 5 minutes! Which, of course, made us happy, because we arrived at about 9 pm quite tired and hungry. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, large, clean, beautiful and comfortable. There are paintings in the rooms too! Our room had central air conditioning, which was very convenient, the TV showed about 4 Russian channels. One of the channels specifically for Russian tourists, where they talk about local attractions, traditions and life in Bulgaria, as well as about all kinds of themed cafe-restaurants! I would also like to write about the cleaning in the room: they always cleaned well, changed towels, bed linen every other day.
The floors were vacuumed and washed (even on the balcony) the same way every day. We left tips 2 times.
The Planet Hotel does not have its own territory as such, there is only a pool with sun loungers and a bar. Surrounded by the pool, there are artificial (! ) palm trees, which is a little surprising in the south! It’s almost impossible to take a sun lounger directly by the pool, other people’s towels always hang on them, but we didn’t need it. What for? - when near the sea? And the sea is really 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The sea is, of course, a separate conversation, in fact, for the sake of it, we all come to the resort. But, in none of the reviews, there was nowhere such information as the lack of a fresh water shower on the beach. As we later found out from the guide, they are nowhere to be found in Sunny Beach! The same can be said about the wooden planks...they end as soon as the sand begins, i. e. you can only walk along the beach on the water. The toilet, no matter how much I was looking for on the beach, I also did not find.
We found all this in the neighboring village of St. Vlas (it is located 6 km from Sunny Beach). At the time when we were resting, we never hung a green flag, we didn’t manage to swim for our pleasure. But I didn’t notice any living creatures in the water, which I was incredibly happy about, the water is clean, warm) We didn’t buy sunbeds and an umbrella (8 lev) - the beach is too “overloaded”, if you move a little further away, there are fewer people. As for the sea and the beach, this is where my impressions end. As for the food at the hotel: the food is good there, there is something to choose from for every taste. We thought, of course, that there would be more seafood, but . . alas ..... everything cost only fish. With fruit, too, we were not surprised: watermelon, grapefruit, orange, apples and nectarines (they were like a stone). And so, everything else - whatever your heart desires !! ! Especially a lot of cheese). We did not observe queues in the dining room, it was always possible to find a free table (there were also enough places on the veranda).
As for fruits: we went to the market - there are as many as you can carry. And cheap. So with fruit, we compensated this point for ourselves. The all-inclusive system - the choice of drinks is also diverse !!! ! Who likes what. Only there is no juice (what you can pour in the dining room from the machine - the language does not turn out to be called juice). We especially liked their local drink Menta + Sprite. It turns out very refreshing))))) On the streets of Sunny Beach (not far from the famous Freshness Hotel), we went to the Wine Tasting store, where we tried what our hearts desired, and bought wine once or twice. ) We bought 2 excursions from Solvex. The first is: Aladzha Monastery, Dolphinarium, Varna, Assumption Cathedral + lunch. Second: the city in the Rose Valley of Kazanlak, the Thracian tomb, the Rose Museum, Shipka. All excursions take almost the whole day, but it's worth it! We also visited the water park in Sunny Beach. There is another water park in Nessebar.
Everyone chooses which one he likes best, but the locals say that it is better in Nessebar, although our guide assured us otherwise. At the water park, we managed to lose the bracelet from the hotel, this problem was easily resolved at the reception ...they just gave me a new one! So in Bulgaria there are a large number of excursions and no one will be bored. In the evening, you can ride around Sunny Beach on a train or in a carriage with horses. The attractions are very close to the hotel. Separately, I would like to write about the Old Town of Nessebar, which is located on a peninsula of amazing beauty. Just wandering through the narrow streets, walking along the promenade or visiting a small cafe - all this will bring great pleasure and vivid impressions. At the entrance to the city, they play the bagpipes, which creates a special flavor of the area.
From all our rest, we can conclude that the Planet Hotel is a good place where you can relax both with children and without them. The most important thing is the mood and the desire to receive positive emotions. Have a nice holiday! )
