For two weeks of stay (March 2012) there was no hot water twice, once the water was turned off altogether, once the lights were turned off (for a short while), the only remaining elevator did not work twice. Towels were not changed several times (fresh ones were not delivered). And with high humidity, used towels simply do not have time to dry. Once they poisoned mosquitoes (mosquitoes remained, but for three days it stank of chemistry). It was leaking from under the sink. The contingent of vacationers is very simple, a mixture of foreigners with new Cubans, who usually behave very well. . . actively. Many tourists with local "girlfriends" and "friends". Decent people in half with drunken personalities, crazy from free drinks, who rush around with plastic cups of beer or rum. Accordingly, these cups are lying around anywhere. . . The food is tolerable, sometimes they even served roast pig. Serves local fruits, fish, lots of sweets (sugar cane country). The beach is huge, the sand is fine, only they clean it somehow. Again, there are cups and straws everywhere. Warm water. In general, the nature of Cuba (everywhere where a person has not reached it) is simply gorgeous. During our stay, however, there were many "Portuguese galley" jellyfish. They are classified as dangerous. Large specimens can cause severe damage. You can wind up in the hospital, there are even (albeit rarely) deaths. We must pay tribute to the beach staff, they actively warn about jellyfish. Close to the capital, there is a free shuttle bus. You can even go for a walk every day. The staff is friendly, especially when tipping. In general, if anyone suffers from nostalgia for socialism, this hotel is the best.
